Round 3 Feature Match: Kevin Moyers vs. Vincent Bellafiore
Kevin Moyers from Virginia is Dueling against Vincent Bellafiore from Maryland in our Round 3 Feature Match! Moyers is using an all-new Kozmo Deck, featuring the new Kozmo monsters available in Clash of Rebellions. Bellafiore, on the other hand, is using a tried-and-true Burning Abyss Deck. Since Burning Abyss Decks typically contain lots of card effects that target monsters, including the effects of Fire Lake of the Burning Abyss and Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss, they generally have a tough time taking down Kozmo Forerunner, which can’t be targeted by an opponent’s card effects. Will Moyers be able to use his Forerunners to defeat Bellafiore and his infernal monsters? We’re about to find out. It’s time Duel!

Bellafiore used his Dante’s effect to add Cir from his Graveyard to his hand and activated Graff’s effect to Special Summon Scarm, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss from his Deck in Defense Position. Moyers used his Sliprider’s effect to banish it from the Duel and Special Summon Kozmo Farmgirl from his Deck in Attack Position, allowing Bellafiore to draw another card with Maxx “C”. Moyers Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.
Bellafiore Normal Summoned Graff, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss and Moyers flipped Vanity’s Emptiness to prevent Special Summons. Next, Bellafiore Set a card to his back row and passed.

He Set a card to his back row and then attached Stellarknight Delteros to his Ptolemaeus with its effect in his End Phase.
Bellafiore drew a card and then Moyers activated his Ptolemaeus’s effect to try to rank it up into a Rank 5 monster; but Moyers Chained Solemn Warning and paid 2000 Life Points to negate Ptolemaeus’s effect and destroy it. Bellafiore Summoned Graff next, and Moyers Special Summoned Flying “C” to his field. Graff destroyed itself with its own effect, and Bellafiore Special Summoned Scarm from his Deck with its effect. Next, Scarm destroyed itself with its own effect. Moyers Set 2 cards to his back row and then added Rubic, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss to his hand with the effect of Scarm in his End Phase.
Moyers drew Kozmo Farmgirl. He Normal Summoned Heroic Challenger – Assault Halberd and then combined his 2 monsters together to Xyz Summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer in Defense Position. He detached both Xyz Materials from Castel to try to send Scarm back into Bellafiore’s Deck; but Bellafiore Chained Crush Card Virus to Tribute Scarm. Castel was destroyed, as was the Kozmo Farmgirl in Moyers’s hand, and then Moyers destroyed Kozmo Sliprider and 2 copies of Kozmo Forerunner from his Deck with the effect of Crush Card Virus. Moyers banished all three of them from his Graveyard to Special Summon 2 copies of Sliprider and a Farmgirl from his Deck with their effects. Moyers opened up with Honest, Black Horn of Heaven, Kozmo Forerunner, Kozmo Sliprider, and 2 copies of Emergency Teleport. He entered his Battle Phase and then activated Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Kozmo Farmgirl from his Deck. He attacked with Farmgirl into Bellafiore’s face-down Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss and then discarded Honest to increase his monster’s ATK to win the battle. Farfa was destroyed, and it banished Farmgirl with its effect until the End Phase. Next, Moyers activated Emergency Teleport to Special Summon another Farmgirl from his Deck. He attacked directly with it and paid 500 Life Points to add Kozmo Goodwitch from his Deck to his hand with its effect.
