Joe Bogli faces David Bui in the Top Cut, who will move on to the Top 16?

 

 

Bogli lost the die roll and was forced to go first. He opened Torrential Tribute, Kozmo Forerunner, Kozmotown, Mirror Force, and Mystical Space Typhoon. He used Kozmotown to shuffle back Kozmo Forerunner which gave him Mystical Space Typhoon. He Set all the cards in his hand and passed.

 

Bui started out with Senju of the Thousand Hands. He used the effect to add Nekroz of Brionac and then discarded it to add Nekroz of Unicore. He attacked for 1400 directly and passed.

 

Bogli drew Emergency Teleport. He activated it and brought out Kozmo Farmgirl in attack position. He entered the Battle Phase and used Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy his own Kozmotown, and he added Kozmo Forerunner to his hand. Next, Kozmo Farmgirl attacked Senju of the Thousand Hands, and when it went down Bogli paid 500 Life Points to add Kozmotown to his hand. He then banished Farmgirl to Special Summon Kozmo Forerunner, which attacked for 2800. In Main Phase 2 he used Kozmotown to lose 300 Life Points and add Farmgirl back to his hand. He then used Kozmotown’s other effect to shuffle it back and draw into another Kozmo Farmgirl.

 

 

Bui Normal Summoned Denko Sekka! He then activated Nekroz of Unicore to add back Nekroz of Brionac, after which he discarded it to add Nekroz of Trishula. He then played Preparation of Rites to add Nekroz of Clausolas and then he discarded it Nekroz Mirror. He played it tributing Exa Enforcer of Nekroz and banishing a Nekroz of Unicore in grave for Nekroz of Trishula. That banished Forerunner from the field, Farmgirl from the hand, and Kozmotown from the Graveyard. He added Nekroz of Decisive Armor to his hand, and then attacked to drop Bogli to 1400. He passed.

 

Bogli drew Kozmo Farmgirl. He used Kozmotown to add back Kozmo Forerunner to his hand. Next, he Normal Summoned Farmgirl and banished it to Special Summon the Forerunner, and then he attacked Denko Sekka. Bui discarded Nekroz of Valkyrus from his hand to stop the attack. He passed.

 

Bui used Mystical Space Typhoon on Mirror Force and Bogli thought for a moment. He decided to go to into Game 2 without revealing what his Set card was.

 

 

Bui went first. He Set a backrow and passed.

 

Bogli opened Kozmo Farmgirl, Kozmo Goodwitch, Kozmo Forerunner, Kozmo Sliprider, Kozmotown, and Raigeki. He activated Kozmotown and shuffled back Goodwitch, Forerunner, and Sliprider to draw two Artifact Lancea and Dark Hole. He Normal Summoned Kozmo Farmgirl and attacked into Book of Moon. Then he passed.

 

Bui Normal Summoned Fire Hand and attacked over the Set Farmgirl. Then he Set a backrow and ended.

 

Bogli drew Kozmo Goodwitch. He shuffled it back with Kozmotown to draw another copy. He played Dark Hole to clear the Fire Hand, and then passed.

 

Bui Set a backrow.

 

Bogli drew his third Artifact Lancea. He used Kozmotown to shuffle back Kozmo Goodwitch and draw Maxx “C”. He ended his turn.

 

Bui passed.

 

Bogli drew Kozmo Sliprider and shuffled it back into the Deck to draw Emergency Teleport. He passed.

 

 

Bui passed.

 

Bogli drew Mirror Force. He activated Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Kozmo Farmgirl and it attacked directly. Bogli paid 500 Life Points to add Kozmo Sliprider to his hand. He banished Kozmo Farmgirl and Bui chained Mind Crush calling Kozmo Sliprider. It was discarded and in Main Phase 2 Bogli took 300 Life Points to add Kozmo Farmgirl back to his hand. He Set Mirror Force and passed.

 

Bui Set a backrow and passed.

 

Bogli drew Kozmo Goodwitch. He shuffled it back to draw Fiendish Chain. He Set it and Normal Summoned Kozmo Farmgirl. It attacked directly and he paid 500 to add Kozmo Forerunner to his hand. He ended his turn after that.

 

Bui Normal Summoned Senju of the Thousand Hands and used its effect to add Nekroz of Unicore. He played Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Bogli chained Maxx “C”. Nekroz of Unicore and Nekroz of Gungnir hit the field after sending Star Eater to the grave. Bogli drew Kozmo Sliprider. Bui used Mystical Space Typhoon on the Set Fiendish Chain. Gungnir discarded Nekroz Mirror to destroy Bogli’s Set Mirror Force. He Xyz Summoned Abyss Dweller and Bogli drew Mirror Force. Gungnir attacked Kozmo Farmgirl and it was banished to Special Summon Kozmo Sliprider which destroyed Bui’s Set Nekroz Cycle. Abyss Dweller was activated and Gungnir pressed over the Sliprider. The Abyss Dweller attacked and Bui passed.

 

Bogli drew Torrential Tribute. He lost 300 to add Kozmo Farmgirl to his hand. He used Raigeki to clear the board and then Normal Summoned Kozmo Farmgirl, attacking to search his Deck for Kozmo Goodwitch, and then attacked and banished the Goodwitch for another Kozmo and that caused Bui to scoop up his cards. “What a horrible opening.” Bui had started with Gungnir, Book of Moon, and three Ritual Spells.

 

 

Bogli started things off with Kozmo Sliprider, two Kozmo Forerunner, Emergency Teleport, and Mirror Force. He Set Mirror Force and passed.

Bogli drew Artifact Lancea. He entered the Battle Phase and used Emergency Teleport to bring out Kozmo Farmgirl. It attacked Senju of the Thousand Hands and Bui used Nekroz of Valkyrus, which prompted Bogli to banish Farmgirl for Kozmo Forerunner. It attacked over Senju of the Thousand Hands and Bogli passed.

 

Bui Normal Summoned Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands to add Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Kaleidoscope. He used it to Ritual Summon Nekroz of Valkyrus and Nekroz of Unicore using Shooting Quasar Dragon. Nekroz of Valkyrus tributed Great Sorcerer of the Nekroz and Fire Hand from Bui’s hand to draw to cards and search Nekroz of Gungnir. He then Xyz Summoned Abyss Dweller and attacked Forerunner with Nekroz of Valkyrus, chaining Dweller’s effect to the attack. Bogli flipped Mirror Force, Bui used Gungnir to save Nekroz of Valkyrus, and Forerunner went down in battle. In Main Phase 2 he used Nekroz Cycle tributing Shurit, Strategist of Nekroz to bring back Gungnir. He added Nekroz of Brionac and discarded it to add Nekroz of Valkyrus.

 

Bogli drew Artifact Lancea. Not what he wanted to see at all. He realized he was out of options and extended the handshake. David Bui is going to the Top 16!
