Erik Christensen from Fort Lauderdale, Florida hasn’t yet lost a Match this weekend with his Infernoid Deck. Now, he’s looking to maintain that winning streak by beating Arlington, Virginia’s Ryan Levine and his Nekroz Deck in this Top 4 Feature Match! The stakes are high, as only one of these two Duelists will have the opportunity to advance to the Finals and compete for the title of “Champion” of YCS Dallas. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Christensen opened up Duel 1 with Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress, Infernoid Seitsemas, Infernoid Devyaty, Infernoid Decatron, and Void Seer. He Normal Summoned Infernoid Decatron and activated its effect to send Infernoid Devyaty from his Deck to his Graveyard, imitating Devyaty’s name and effect, while gaining its Levels. He Set Void Seer and then ended his turn.
Levine activated Nekroz Kaleidoscope, sending Herald of the Arc Light from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard to Special Summon Nekroz of Unicore from his hand. He activated the effect of his Herald, but Christensen Tributed his Decatron (imitating the name and effect of Devyaty) to negate its effect. Nekroz of Unicore attacked Christensen directly, dropping him down to 5700 Life Points.
Christensen drew Reasoning next turn! He activated it, and Levine declared Level 1 and Chained Maxx “C”. Christensen revealed Infernoid Seitsemas, Infernoid Patrulea, and Infernoid Decatron from the top of his Deck, and all 3 of them were sent to the Graveyard. Next, he banished Decatron, Patrulea, and Seitsemas from his Graveyard to Special Summon Devyaty from his Graveyard. He Normal Summoned Lyla next, and attacked Nekroz of Unicore with Devyaty to destroy it. Lyla attacked directly next, dropping Levine down to 5700 Life Points. In his End Phase, Christensen send Burial from a Different Dimension, Galaxy Cyclone, and Infernoid Antra from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Lyla’s effect.
Levine Normal Summoned Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands and activated its effect; but Christensen activated Devyaty’s effect to Tribute Lyla and negate its effect, destroying Manju. Levine Set a card to his back row and then passed his turn.
Christensen drew Charge of the Light Brigade and activated it by sending Infernoid Onuncu, Card Trooper, and Torrential Tribute from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. He added Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn from his Deck to his hand with its effect. Next, he Normal Summoned Raiden. Levine flipped Torrential Tribute, and Christensen Chained his face-down Void Seer to protect Devyaty. He attacked directly with Devyaty, dropping Levine down to 2800 Life Points.
Levine banished Nekroz Kaleidoscope and Nekroz of Unicore from his Graveyard to add Nekroz Mirror from his Deck to his hand with the effect of his Kaleidoscope. Next he activated Instant Fusion! He paid 1000 Life Points to Special Summon Elder Entity Norden from his Extra Deck to his field in Defense Position, and activated its effect to Special Summon Maxx “C” from his Graveyard in Defense Position. Next, he activated Nekroz Mirror, Tributing his on-field Maxx “C” and the Nekroz of Valkyrus in his hand to Special Summon Nekroz of Decisive Armor from his hand. Nekroz of Decisive Armor attacked and destroyed Devyaty, and then Levine Set a card to his back row.
Christensen banished 3 Infernoids from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Onuncu from his Graveyard, and activated its effect to clear the field! A direct attack from Onuncu wiped out the rest of Levine’s Life Points!

Christensen opened up Duel 2 with Raigeki, Chaos Hunter, Mischief of the Gnomes, Infernoid Decatron, and Mistake. He Summoned Infernoid Decatron and activated its effect to send Infernoid Onuncu from his Deck to his Graveyard and imitate its qualities. He Set Mistake and Mischief of the Gnomes before passing his turn.
Levine activated Reinforcement of the Army, and when Christensen Chained Mistake, Levine Chained Mystical Space Typhoon to try to destroy Mistake. Christensen Tributed his Decatron (imitating Onuncu’s effect) to negate the Mystical Space Typhoon, and then Levine Chained another Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy the Mistake. Levine resolved the effect of his Reinforcement of the Army to add Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz from his Deck to his hand. Next, Levine activated another Reinforcement of the Army, this time adding Nekroz of Clausolas to his hand. He discarded Nekroz of Clausolas to add Nekroz Cycle from his Deck to his hand and then activated Nekroz Cycle; but Christensen Chained Mischief of the Gnomes to reduce the Level of all monsters in Levine’s hand by 1! Levine Tributed the Shurit in his hand to Special Summon Nekroz of Clausolas from his Graveyard in Attack Position, and Christensen discarded Raigeki from his hand to Special Summon Chaos Hunter in Attack Position. Levine added Nekroz of Brionac to his hand with the effect of his Shurit and then discarded Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Decisive Armor to his hand. He Normal Summoned Exa, Enforcer of the Nekroz, whose Level was reduced by 1 due to the effect of Mischief of the Gnomes, and then attacked Chaos Hunter. He discarded Nekroz of Decisive Armor to increase Exa’s ATK and destroy Chaos Hunter in battle. Nekroz of Clausolas attacked directly next, and then play passed to Christensen.
Christensen drew Infernoid Decatron. He Summoned Infernoid Decatron and activated its effect to send Infernoid Harmadik from his Deck to his Graveyard and imitate its qualities. He activated his Decatron’s effect (imitating Harmadik’s effect) to destroy Levine’s Exa.
Levine attacked Decatron with Nekroz of Clausolas, and Christensen Tributed his Decatron (still imitating Harmadik) to banish Nekroz Mirror from Levine’s Graveyard. Levine attacked directly with Nekroz of Clausolas instead.
Christensen banished 3 Infernoids from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Onuncu from his Graveyard and used its effect to destroy Nekroz of Clausolas. He attacked directly to drop Levine down to 5000 Life Points and then passed his turn.
Levine activated Dark Hole to clear the field and then Set a card to his back row.
Christensen banished 1 Infernoid from his hand and 1 Infernoid from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Seitsemas from his hand, and Levine flipped Torrential Tribute to clear the field. Christensen Chained his Seitsemas’s effect to Tribute it and banish Nekroz of Brionac from Levine’s Graveyard.

Levine activated Instant Fusion, paying 1000 Life Points to Special Summon Elder Entity Norden from his Extra Deck! He activated Norden’s effect to Special Summon Shurit from his Graveyard. Next, he activated Nekroz Cycle and Tributed his Shurit to Special Summon Nekroz of Clausolas from his Graveyard in Attack Position. He activated the effect of his Tributed Shurit to add Nekroz of Brionac from his Deck to his hand and then discarded Nekroz of Brionac to add Nekroz of Unicore to his hand. He activated Nekroz Kaleidoscope next, and Christensen Chained the effect of the Mischief of the Gnomes in his Graveyard by banishing it. With the Nekroz of Unicore in his hand reduced to a Level 3 monster, Levine was forced to Tribute his on-field Clausolas to Summon it. He attacked directly with his Nekroz of Unicore and then ended his turn, destroying his own Elder Entity Norden in his End Phase due to the effect of Instant Fusion.
Christensen banished Infernoid Antra from his hand to Special Summon Infernoid Harmadik from his hand, and activated Harmadik’s effect to destroy Nekroz of Unicore.
