Round 9 Feature Match: Adam Cisneros versus Juan Carlos Orozco Orozco

November 8th, 2015

Welcome to Day 2 of YCS San Jose! Adam Cisneros is using the newest Deck out of Dimension of Chaos, Majespecters! His opponent is Juan Carlos Orozco Orozco (That’s double the Orozco), using a Satellarknight Deck featuring a ton of tricks to get over the competition. In particular, he has DNA Transplant and Stellarknight Alpha to combo with Stellarknight Constellar Diamond! Each Duelist has two losses, so they’ll need to win if they want a shot at making the Top 32.

Duel 1

Cisneros won the die roll and chose to play first. He began with Majespecter Unicorn – Kirin and Majespecter Crow – Yata. He Pendulum Summoned Majespecter Cat – Nekomata and Set two to has back row. In the End Phase, he got Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku to his hand.

Orozco’s opening hand consisted of DNA Transplant, 2 Stellarnova Alpha, Satellarknight Unukalhai, Oasis of Dragon Souls, and Solemn Warning. He played Unukalhai and Set his whole hand.

In Cisneros’s Standby Phase, DNA Transplant made all monsters DARK. Cisneros played Bunbuku, searching for Yata. He Pendulum Summoned Yata and Majespecter Fox – Kyubi, but lost both to Solemn Warning!

Orozco drew Stellarknight Alpha, and equipped it to Unukulhai. It destroyed Bunbuku in battle.

Cisneros played Majesty’s Pegasus. He used it to swap Nekomata with Kyubi from the Deck. It added Majespecter Tempest to his hand. He Pendulum Summoned Nekomata and Bunbuku from the Extra Deck, adding a Nekomata to his hand. He Set a back row card, and in the End Phase he used Nekomata for a new Bunbuku.

Orozco drew Reinforcement of the Army. He passed.

Cisneros played Wavering Eyes, and Orozco negated it with Stellarnova Alpha. Orozco drew another Reinforcement of the Army with its effect. Cisneros used Majesty’s Pegasus to Tribute Nekomata, getting a Kyubi. He Normal Summoned Bunbuku, searching for another Bunbuku. He Pendulum Summoned, bringing Nekomata back in Defense Position. Both Bunbuku and a Kyubi attacked directly. The last attack was blocked by Oasis of Dragon Souls, bringing Unukulhai in Defense Position. Its effect was negated by Breakthrough Skill, and Kyubi destroyed it in battle. In the End Phase, Cisneros searched for Majespecter Cyclone with Nekomata.

Orozco drew Stellarnova Alpha. He used both of his Reinforcements, getting Satellarknight Vega and Satellarknight Deneb. He played Vega, and it Special Summoned Deneb. Cisneros couldn’t use any of his Majespecter cards since none of them were WIND, due to DNA Transplant! Deneb searched for Satellarknight Altair, and Orozco Xyz Summoned Evilswarm Exciton Knight. He blasted the field with its effect, but the Majespecters couldn’t be destroyed thanks to their Continuous Effects! Orozco knew that even after all he just did, he wouldn’t last through Cisneros’s next turn.

Cisneros played Archfiend Eccentrick to his Pendulum Zone, using it to blast Deck Devastation Virus. He Set four to his back row. In the End Phase, Orozco attached Stellarknight Constellar Diamond to Ptolemaeus, then ranked it up into Tiras, Keeper of Genesis!

Orozco drew Fairy Wind. Tiras attacked directly, then targeted a back row card. Cisneros Chained it – Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying Orozco’s DNA Transplant. Orozco Set Fairy Wind.

Cisneros passed.

Orozco drew Deneb and played it into Solemn Warning. Tiras attacked directly, leaving Cisneros with just 800 Life Points. Tiras destroyed Vanity’s Emptiness. When Cisneros drew his next card, he conceded defeat!
