Round 4 Feature Match: Craig Burnett versus Jake Kuenzi
Craig Burnett from McDonough, Georgia and Jake Kuenzi from Weyauwega, Wisconsin both currently have 2-1 records in the tournament. Burnett is using an Infernoid Deck that takes advantage of Magical Spring to draw additional cards, discard Infernoid Monsters, and prevent his opponent from destroying his or her own cards in the Pendulum Zone. Kuenzi is using a Performapal Dracoslayer Deck made possible by Breakers of Shadow. Only one of these Duelists will advance with a 3-1 record. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Burnett won the die roll and chose to go second.
Kuenzi started off Duel 1 by Setting a monster face-down and ending his turn.
Burnett opened up Duel 1 with Magical Spring, Infernoid Decatron, Infernoid Devyaty, Infernoid Harmadik and 2 copies of Infernoid Patrulea. He Normal Summoned Infernoid Decatron and activated its effect, prompting Kuenzi to discard Effect Veiler from his hand to negate its effect. Next, Kuenzi banished a Harmadik from his hand to Special Summon Infernoid Patrulea from his hand. He banished Devyaty from his hand next, in order to Special Summon another Patrulea. He Tuned Decatron with both Patruleas to Synchro Summon Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, and activated its effect to banish a face-down Performage Mirror Conductor from Kuenzi’s field, a Raigeki from his hand, and an Effect Veiler from his Graveyard.
Kuenzi activated Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord in his Pendulum Zones. He tried to use Luster Pendulum’s effect to destroy Vector Pendulum, but Burnett activated Magical Spring to prevent Vector Pendulum from being destroyed! He drew 2 cards and discarded 1. Kuenzi Set a monster and passed his turn.
Burnett Summoned Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn and then activated its effect to send the top 2 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard. He activated Instant Fusion next, Special Summoning Elder Entity Norden from his Extra Deck. He activated its effect to Special Summon another Raiden from his Graveyard, in Defense Position. Next, he Tuned Raiden with Norden to Synchro Summon Stardust Dragon! Raiden attacked and destroyed Kuenzi’s face-down Performage Trick Clown, and Kuenzi Special Summoned it back to the field and lost 1000 Life Points with its effect. Stardust Dragon attacked and destroyed Trick Clown next, and then Trishula attacked directly, dropping Kuezni down to 1600 Life Points.
Kuenzi drew a card and then conceded, still unable to destroy the cards in his own Pendulum Zone, and unable to successfully Pendulum Summon any monsters.

Duel Two
Kuenzi started off Duel 2 by Summoning Performapal Skullcrobat Joker. He activated its effect to add Performapal Monkeyboard to his hand and then placed it in his Pendulum Zone. He activated Monkeyboard’s effect to add Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer from his Deck to his hand. He activated Performapal Lizardraw in his Pendulum Zone next, and then Pendulum Summoned Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, Performage Plushfire, and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his hand. He activated his Pendulum Sorcerer’s effect to destroy his own Pendulum Scales and add Performapal Monkeyboard and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker from his Deck to his hand. He Tuned Luster Pendulum with Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to Synchro Summon Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer and activated its effect to Special Summon Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his Deck in Defense Position. Next, he combined his Luster Pendulum with Skullcrobat Joker to Xyz Summon Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer. He activated its effect, and then detached an Xyz Material from it to Special Summon Luster Pendulum from his Extra Deck. He Tributed Performage Plushfire and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his field to Special Summon Dinoster Power, the Mighty Dracoslayer from his Extra Deck. He activated its effect to Special Summon Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his Graveyard in Defense Position, and then Kuenzi added Performage Plushfire from his Deck to his hand with the effect of Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer in his End Phase.
Burnett opened up Duel 2 with Reasoning, Monster Gate, Instant Fusion, Scapegoat, Infernoid Patrulea, and Infernoid Decatron.
He activated Reasoning and Kuenzi called Level 1. Burnett sent Charge of the Light Brigade to the Graveyard from the top of his Deck and then Special Summoned Raiden. He activated its effect to send 2 Spells from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard and then activated Monster Gate! He Tributed Raiden and then sent 6 Infernoids from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard before Special Summoning Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress from his Deck. Next, Burnett banished Infernoid Harmadik and Infernoid Patrulea from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Seitsemas from his Graveyard. He Normal Summoned Infernoid Decatron next, and activated its effect to send Infernoid Harmadik from his Deck to his Graveyard, gaining its Levels and copying its name and effect. Next, Burnett activated the effect of Decatron (imitating Harmadik), destroying Dinoster Power, the Mighty Dracoslayer. He Tuned Decatron with Lyla to Synchro Summon PSY-Framelord Omega next. Then, he activated Instant Fusion! He paid 1000 Life Points to Special Summon Elder Entity Norden from his Extra Deck, and activated its effect to Special Summon Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn from his Graveyard. He Tuned Raiden with Norden to Synchro Summon another PSY-Framelord Omega. He attacked and destroyed Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer with Seitsemas, and then an Omega attacked and destroyed Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. At the end of the Battle Phase, Burnett banished Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer from the field with Seitsemas’s effect.
Kuenzi drew a card and Burnett returned his 2 banished Infernoids to his Graveyard with his 2 PSY-Framelords’ effects during Kuenzi’s Standby Phase. In his Main Phase, Kuenzi activated Performapal Monkeyboard and activated its effect to add Performapal Silver Claw to his hand. Burnett activated the effect of his PSY-Framelord Omega to banish it from the field and banish a card from Kuenzi’s hand, and Chained his other Omega’s effect to banish his other Omega and a second card from Kuenzi’s hand. Burnett banished Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Wavering Eyes from Kuenzi’s hand. Kuenzi Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and activated its effect to add Performapal Guitartle from his Deck to his hand. He played Performapal Silver Claw in his Pendulum Zone and then Pendulum Summoned Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, 2 copies of Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, and Performage Plushfire from his Extra Deck in Attack Position. He activated his Pendulum Sorcerer’s effect to destroy his own 2 Pendulum Scales and added Performapal Monkeyboard and Performapal Partnaga from his Deck to his hand. He Tuned Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer with Performage Plushfire to Synchro Summon Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer and then activated Partnaga in his Pendulum Zone. He activated Partnaga’s effect to increase the ATK of Ignister Prominence. Kuenzi activated his Ignister Prominence’s effect next, destroying the card in his own Pendulum Zone, and Burnett Chained Scapegoat to Summon 4 Sheep Tokens to the field. Kuenzi shuffled Seitsmas into Burnett’s Deck with Ignister Prominence’s effect. He activated his Ignister Prominence’s effect to Special Summon Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his Deck in Defense Position next.
He Tuned Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer with Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer to Synchro Summon another Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer. He activated Plushfire in his Pendulum Zone next, and destroyed it with his newly Summoned Ignister Prominence to remove a Sheep Token from Burnett’s field, leaving him with 3 Sheep Tokens. He Special Summoned Performapal Trick Clown from his Deck with his Plushfire’s effect and then combined Trick Clown with Master Pendulum to Xyz Summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer. He detached both Xyz Materials from Castel to get another Sheep Token off of the field, and then Special Summoned Trick Clown back to the field by giving up 1000 Life Points. He combined Trick Clown with Skullcrobat Joker to Xyz Summon Performage Trapeze Magician, and detached Skullcrobat Joker to allow his Ignister Prominence to attack twice. Kuenzi conceded, about to be defeated by the attacks from Burnett’s field.
Burnett and Kuenzi both draw incredible hands in Duel 2, but Kuenzi manages to secure the victory with a string of Synchro Summons and Xyz Summons!
Duel Three
Kuenzi started off Duel 3 by activating Draco Face-Off, selecting Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord from his Deck. He randomly selected Luster Pendulum, and Special Summoned it to the field while sending Vector Pendulum to the Extra Deck. He Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker next, activating its effect to add Performapal Monkeyboard to his hand. He activated it in his Pendulum Zone and used its effect to add Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer from his Deck to his hand. He placed Skullcrobat Joker in his Pendulum Zone and then Pendulum Summoned Pendulum Sorcerer from his hand. He destroyed his 2 Pendulum Scales and added Performapal Guitartle and Performapal Lizardraw from his Deck to his hand with his Pendulum Sorcerer’s effect. He Tuned Luster Pendulum with Pendulum Sorcerer to Synchro Summon Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer in Attack Position and activated its effect to Special Summon Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his Deck in Defense Position. He combined it with Skullcrobat Joker to Xyz Summon Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer in Defense Position and activate its effect. He detached an Xyz Material from it to Special Summon Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer in Attack Position and then activated Performapal Guitartle. He activated Lizardraw next, and used his Guitartle’s effect to draw a card. He used his Lizardraw’s effect next to have it destroy itself and draw another card. In his End Phase, he added Skullcrobat Joker to his hand with his Majester Paladin’s effect.
Burnett activated Charge of the Light Brigade, sending Infernoid Decatron, Infernoid Seitsemas, and Instant Fusion from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard to add Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn from his Deck to his hand.
He Special Summoned Photon Thrasher from his hand next, and Normal Summoned Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn. He activated Raiden’s effect to send 2 Spell Cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard and then combined Raiden with Photon Thrasher to Xyz Summon Bujintei Tsukuyomi. He Set Mistaken Arrest face-down and then detached an Xyz Material from Tsukuyomi to discard his hand and draw Infernoid Decatron and Infernoid Harmadik from his Deck. He banished Infernoid Decatron from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Harmadik from his hand next, and then used Harmadik’s effect to destroy Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer. He banished another Infernoid from his Graveyard to Special Summon Seitsemas from his Graveyard and then attacked Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer with Seitsemas to destroy it. He banished Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from the field with Seitsemas’s effect at the end of the Battle Phase.
Kuenzi activated Twin Twister by discarding Performage Hat Tricker, targeting Burnett’s face-down Mistaken Arrest; but Burnett Chained it! Kuenzi activated Performapal Partnaga in his Pendulum Zone and then Pendulum Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, and Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord from his Extra Deck, as well as 2 more Performapal Pendulum Sorcerers from his hand. He increased his Skullcrobat Joker’s ATK with the effect of his Partnaga, and then combined 2 of his Pendulum Sorcerers to Xyz Summon Performage Trapeze Magician. He detached an Xyz Material from Trapeze Magician to allow Skullcrobat Joker to attack twice. He attacked Tsukuyomi with Trapeze Magician to destroy it, and then attacked twice with Skullcrobat Joker, clearing the rest of Burnett’s field. Direct attacks from Kuenzi’s other monsters dropped Burnett down to 1650 Life Points. In his End Phase, Skullcrobat Joker was destroyed and sent to the Extra Deck due to Trapeze Magician’s effect.
Burnett drew a card and conceded on his next turn, overwhelmed by Kuenzi’s field.
