Round 6 Feature Match: Jonathan Moore versus Malvin Dionsio

Both of these Duelists are no stranger to the feature match table, with Jonathan Moore from Dallas, Texas having 20 feature matches to his name since he started playing in over 10 years ago. Malvin Dionsio from Vallejo, California is running a Performapal Pendulum Deck with Guiding Ariadne’s and a complement of Counter Traps to go along with it! Moore’s Performapal Pendulum Deck has a few interesting off-theme cards in it. Which one will come out on top in this Round 6 Match?

Moore won the roll and elected to go first.

 

Game 1

Moore started with Draco Face-Off, revealing Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer was placed in the Pendulum Zone, Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord went to the Extra Deck. Performapal Skullcrobat Joker was Normal Summoned, searched Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer which was activated in the other Pendulum Zone. Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer’s Pendulum Effect activated, destroying the Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and adding another to hand. Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer was placed in the Pendulum Zone and 3 monsters were Pendulum Summoned: Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer. Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord were used to Xyz Summon Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer, then its effect was used to Special Summon Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from the Extra Deck. Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer were Tributed to Special Summon Dinoster Power, the Mighty Dracoslayer from the Extra Deck, whose effect Special Summoned Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from the graveyard. He Xyz Summoned Traptrix Rafflesia using Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. In the End Phase, Moore searched for Performapal Guitartle with Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer’s effect.

Dionsio drew Wavering Eyes. He Normal Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, searched for Performapal Monkeyboard. He activated Performage Mirror Conductor and used its effect to switch the ATK and DEF of Rafflesia and then attacked into Rafflesia with Performapal Skullcrobat Joker. In the second Main Phase, Dionsio activated Performapal Monkeyboard which added Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to his hand. He then activated Wavering Eyes, destroying the scales and adding Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer to his hand. He then activated Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to his Pendulum Zones, and used Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer’s effect to destroy Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and add another one to his hand. He activated the Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Pendulum Summoned 3 monsters: Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Performage Trick Clown. He used Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to destroy the scales and add Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Performapal Guitartle to hand. He proceeded to Xyz Summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer using Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Performage Trick Clown, sending Dinoster Power, the Mighty Dracoslayer back to the Deck. Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, Performage Trick Clown and Performage Mirror Conductor were used to Xyz Summon Tellarknight Ptolemaeus! Immediately, 3 Xyz Materials were detached to Summon Cyber Dragon Nova on top of Ptolemaeus and then Cyber Dragon Infinity! He set another Wavering Eyes before passing.

Moore drew to 6 cards, activated Performapal Guitartle and Performapal Lizardraw. Dionsio activated Wavering Eyes, burning for another 500 damage and adding Guiding Ariadne to his hand! Moore Normal Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and activated its effect which Dionsio allowed, searching Performapal Lizardraw. Performage Hat Tricker came down for Moore, and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Performage Hat Tricker were used to Xyz Summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer. Castel’s effect was used to bait out Cyber Dragon Cyber Dragon Infinity’s effect, destroying Castel. Moore then activated Performapal Monkeyboard and Performapal Lizardraw. He used Performapal Monkeyboard to search for a Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, which was then used as part of a 4 monster Pendulum Summon. Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer were used to Synchro Summon Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer. Performapal Lizardraw was used to draw a card for Moore. Ignister used its effect to destroy Performapal Monkeyboard, sending Cyber Dragon Infinity back to the Extra Deck! Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer used its effect to Special a Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from the Extra Deck, then another Ignister came down, followed by Draco Face-Off! Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord was Special Summoned and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer was placed in the Extra Deck. Performapal Monkeyboard was activated just to be used as fodder for Ignister, spinning the Castel, clearing Dionsio’s field. Moore had enough monsters and damage on the field to attack through the lone Performage Damage Juggler in Dionsio’s hand to secure game 1!

Game 2

Dionsio elected to go first with a hand of Performage Plushfire, Solemn Strike, Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord, Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Performapal Lizardraw. Performapal Skullcrobat Joker came down, searching Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer. Performapal Monkeyboard and Performapal Lizardraw were activated, prompting Moore to activate Maxx “C”. Dionsio Pendulum Summoned just Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, destroying the scales to search Performapal Guitartle and Performapal Lizardraw to hand, Dionsio then activated Performapal Lizardraw and used its effect to draw another card and set Solemn Solemn Strike to finish things off.

Moore activated Twin Twisters, discarding Performage Trick Clown and targeting Performapal Guitartle and Solemn Strike. Performage Trick Clown was Special Summoned after the chain resolved. Performapal Monkeyboard was activated next, searching for Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, which searched for Performapal Lizardraw, which was then activated. Moore then Pendulum Summoned Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, Performage Damage Juggler and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer’s effect destroyed the scales and added Performapal Guitartle and Performapal Lizardraw to hand. Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer were used to Synchro Summon Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer. Performapal Guitartle was activated and Performapal Lizardraw right behind it, drawing a card with Performapal Guitartle and Performapal Lizardraw drawing yet another card. Foolish Burial came down, ditching Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite! Zephyros was activated, Special Summoning itself by bouncing Performapal Guitartle back to the hand, taking 400 damage. Zephyros and Trick Clown were used to Xyz Summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer  Performage Damage Juggler and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker were used to Xyz Summon Performage Trapeze Magician, whose effect was used targeting Ignister. Ignister then Special Summoned Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from the Deck. Ignister would then be used to destroy Trapeze Magician and returning Dionsio’s Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer to the Extra Deck, Trapeze Magician’s effect would Special Summon a Performage Hat Tricker, but Dionsio already saw the writing on the wall and conceded the match!

Moore then played out what the end result would have been had the sequence continued.
