Top 32 Feature Match: Billy Brake versus Frazier Smith

February 7th, 2016

Billy Brake and Frazier Smith are no strangers to the Top 32. Brake and Smith are both former Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series winners, with Smith’s own YCS victory being right here in Atlanta, Georgia back in 2010! Smith is shooting to replicate his previous YCS success here in Atlanta, while Brake is looking for what would be his fourth Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series victory. Brake and Smith both finished the Swiss Rounds with a 9-2 record using their Performapal Pendulum Decks; but now they’re Dueling against one another in a Match that will determine which one of them can advance to the Top 16! The stakes are high, as both Duelists are hungry for a victory. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Brake won the die roll and chose to go first. He opened up with Maxx “C”, Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, Solemn Strike, Wavering Eyes, and Draco Face-Off. He activated Face-Off to reveal Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord, and Smith randomly chose the Luster Pendulum. Brake Special Summoned it to the field and sent Vector Pendulum to his Extra Deck face-up. He Summoned Master Pendulum and then combined his 2 Dracoslayers to Xyz Summon Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer and activate its effect. He Set 2 cards to his back row and then added Performapal Skullcrobat Joker from his Deck to his hand with his Paladin’s effect in his End Phase.

Ascending Dracoslayer

Smith discarded Performage Trick Clown to activate Twin Twisters, destroying Brake’s face-down Solemn Strike and Wavering Eyes. He activated Trick Clown’s effect, and when Brake Chained Maxx “C”, Smith Chained Draco Face-Off to Special Summon Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his Deck and send Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord to his Extra Deck. He Special Summoned Trick Clown to the field, lost 1000 Life Points, and Brake drew a card. Next, Smith Set 2 cards to his back row and ended his turn.

Next, Smith detached an Xyz Material from his Paladin to Special Summon Master Pendulum from his Extra Deck in Attack Position. He switched his Paladin into Attack Position and attacked both of Brake’s monsters to destroy them.

He activated its effect to destroy his own Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer in his Pendulum Zone and shuffle Brake’s face-down Treacherous Trap Hole back into his Deck.
