Now, he’s Dueling against Mexico’s Jose Lagunes and his Performapal Pendulum Deck in a Match that will determine which Duelist advances to the Finals. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Lagunes won the die roll and chose to go second.
Diaz opened up with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Call of the Haunted, Solemn Strike, Raigeki, and Kozmo Dark Eclipser. He Set Call of the Haunted and Solemn Strike before ending his turn.
Lagunes Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and activated its effect to add Performapal Guitartle from his Deck to his hand. He placed the Guitartle in his Pendulum Zone and then activated Performapal Lizardraw. He attempted to use the effect of Guitartle to draw a card, but lost out to Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. Next, he activated Performapal Monkeyboard in his Pendulum Zone and used its effect to add Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to his hand. He attempted to Pendulum Summon Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer and Performage Plushfire from his hand, but lost out to Diaz’s Solemn Strike! Next, he used his Lizardraw’s effect to destroy his own Lizardraw and draw a card, and then he attacked directly with Skullcrobat Joker. He activated Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer next, and Diaz Chained Call of the Haunted to Special Summon Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from his Graveyard before Lagunes could use his Luster Pendulum’s effect.
Diaz drew Skill Drain and then switched his Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to Defense Position. He Set Skill Drain before passing his turn.
Lagunes Summoned Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord and attacked Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit with Vector Pendulum to destroy it. Skullcrobat Joker attacked directly next, dropping Diaz down to 2900 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Diaz used the effect of his Luster Pendulum to destroy his Monkeyboard and add another copy of it from his Deck to his hand. He combined Vector Pendulum with Skullcrobat Joker next, and Xyz Summoned Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer in Defense Position. He activated its effect, and Diaz flipped Skill Drain and paid 1000 Life Points to negate the effects of all face-up monsters.
Diaz drew Call of the Haunted next turn. He activated Raigeki to destroy Majester Paladin, the Ascending Dracoslayer and then Set his Call of the Haunted.
Lagunes activated Twin Twisters to destroy Diaz’s back rows and then Summoned Skullcrobat Joker. He activated its effect to add Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to his hand and activated it in the Pendulum Zone. Diaz promptly conceded, frustrated that he was unable to draw a low-Level Kozmo monster.

Duel Two
Lagunes activated Performage Plushfire and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer in his Pendulum Zones and then used his Luster Pendulum’s effect to destroy the Plushfire and add another copy of it to his hand. He Special Summoned Damage Juggler with Plushfire’s effect and then activated another Plushfire. He activated Wavering Eyes next, destroying both cards in his Pendulum Zone and adding Skullcrobat Joker from his Deck to his hand with its effect. He Special Summoned Performage Trick Clown from his Deck with the effect of Plushfire. He Summoned Skullcrobat Joker next, and activated its effect to add Performapal Monkeyboard from his Deck to his hand. He placed it in his Pendulum Zone and then activated its effect to add Performapal Lizardraw from his Deck to his hand. He combined Trick Clown with Damage Juggler and Skullcrobat Joker to Xyz Summon Tellarknight Ptolemaeus and then activated Lizardraw in his Pendulum Zone. He Pendulum Summoned Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and 2 copies of Plushfire from his Extra Deck, and then activated his Lizardraw’s effect to destroy it and draw a card. Next, he Tuned Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer with Plushfire to Synchro Summon Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer. He activated Ptolemaeus’s effect next, detaching 3 Xyz Materials from it to Special Summon Cyber Dragon Nova. He Special Summoned Trick Clown from his Graveyard and gave up 1000 Life Points, and then upgraded Nova into Cyber Dragon Infinity. He activated Ignister Prominence’s effect next, Special Summoning Luster Pendulum to the field. He combined Trick Clown with Plushfire to Xyz Summon Traptrix Rafflesia in Defense Position and then Set a card to his back row.
Diaz opened up with Twin Twisters, Kozmo Forerunner, Kozmo Tincan, Kozmo Goodwitch, Kozmo Dark Destroyer, and Emergency Teleport.
He activated Twin Twisters by discarding Tincan to destroy Lagunes’s face-down Twin Twister and his Monkeyboard. Next, Diaz Summoned Kozmo Goodwitch, and Lagunes detached an Xyz Material from Rafflesia to send Bottomless Trap Hole from his Deck to his Graveyard and copy its effect. Diaz Chained the effect of his Goodwitch by banishing it, and Lagunes negated it with Cyber Dragon Infinity. Next, Diaz activated Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Kozmo Farmgirl from his Deck, and banished her to Special Summon Forerunner from his hand. He attacked Ignister Prominence with Forerunner, and when Forerunner was destroyed in the battle, Diaz banished it from the Duel to Special Summon Sliprider from his Deck in Attack Position. He attacked Cyber Dragon Infinity with Sliprider, destroying both monsters, and then Diaz Special Summoned Kozmo Strawman from his Deck in Defense Position with Sliprider’s effect by banishing the Sliprider from his Graveyard. He entered Main Phase 2 and then paid 500 Life Points to Special Summon Kozmo Sliprider from his Banished Zone with Strawman’s effect. He entered his End Phase, and Sliprider was destroyed by Strawman’s effect. Diaz banished the Sliprider to Special Summon Tincan from his Deck in Defense Position, and then Diaz used Tincan’s effect to reveal Dark Destroyer, Sliprider, and Dark Eclipser from his Deck. Lagunes randomly added Dark Destroyer to Diaz’s hand, and Diaz banished his Tincan to Special Summon Dark Destroyer to the field with Tincan’s effect. Diaz activated Dark Destroyer’s effect to destroy Ignister Prominence, and then play passed to Lagunes.
Lagunes activated Monkeyboard and used its effect to add Lizardraw from his Deck to his hand. He placed Lizardraw in his Pendulum Zone and then Pendulum Summoned Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord from his hand, as well as 2 Luster Pendulums and a Plushfire from his Extra Deck. He Tuned Luster Pendulum with Vector Pendulum to Summon Ignister Prominence, and Diaz banished Strawman from his field to activate its effect and Special Summon Dark Destroyer from his hand. He used Dark Destroyer’s effect to destroy Ignister Prominence. Next, Lagunes banished Performage Damage Juggler from his Graveyard to add Performage Hat Tricker from his Deck to his hand. He used the effect of his Lizardraw to destroy it and draw a card, and then Special Summoned Hat Tricker from his hand. He combined Hat Tricker with Plushfire to Xyz Summon Daigusto Emeral in Defense Position, and then detached Hat Tricker to activate Emeral’s effect and send 2 copies of Ignister Prominence to his Extra Deck and a Plushfire back to his Main Deck while drawing 1 card. Next, Lagunes Normal Summoned Performage Mirror Conductor. He activated its effect to swap the ATK and DEF of Rafflesia and then switched Rafflesia into Attack Position. He attacked Dark Destroyer with Rafflesia, destroying his own Rafflesia and sending the attached Trick Clown to the Graveyard with it. He Special Summoned the Trick Clown back to the field before losing 1000 Life Points and then combined Trick Clown with Mirror Conductor to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller. He detached an Xyz Material from Abyss Dweller to activate its effect, and then activated Raigeki! Both Dark Destroyers were sent to the Graveyard and unable to use their effects due to the effect of Abyss Dweller!
