YCS First-Timers: Atlanta 2016

February 6th, 2016

The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series is a weekend long event that attracts Duelists from all over as they all compete for the title of YCS Champion. You don’t need to have a ton of experience to enter and enjoy what a YCS has to offer, so while the competition can be fierce, the tournament has its fair share of players who have never entered a YCS before.

Evan Albright is 12-years-old hailing from Alpharetta, GA. Albright has been playing the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME for 3 years and he’s running a Graydle deck this weekend. When asked how he think he’s going to do this weekend, he replied “I’m not sure.” We noticed the Fusion Monster Crimson Sunbird in the Extra Deck. When asked why he included that card, he said it was “just a filler.”

His favorite card is Cir, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss. He’s also running Quaking Mirror Force as an unexpected counter.

Garret Beasley is 9-years-old and is running a Lightsworn deck this weekend. He’s been playing for 4 years and he’ll also be entering the Dragon Duel competition this weekend as well. His favorite card is Judgment Dragon.

16-year-old Daniel Craven has been playing the game for 5 years. He’s brought an Odd-Eyes / Magician deck with him from Chattanooga, TN. While it’s not in his Extra Deck this weekend, his favorite card is Number C96: Dark Storm.
