Round 1 Feature Match: Kyle Fisher versus Dwight Mccombe
Dwight Mccombe from College Station has been Dueling for about three weeks, and this is his first ever YCS! He has chosen to bring Monarchs this weekend, relying on the power of Ehther, the Heavenly Monarch and Pantheism of the Monarchs backed up by Domain of the True Monarchs to claim victory. His opponent is Kyle Fisher, a San Antonio Duelist who has chosen to twist the popular Performapal Deck by including Dinomists. The Dinomist cards giving him a lot of power as well as the ability to make Rank 5 Xyz, which essentially means he gets access to Cyber Dragon Infinity thanks to Cyber Dragon Nova! Which Duelist will win their first match of the weekend?
Fisher won the flip and chose to go second.
Duel One:
Mccombe started with One for One and discarded Kuraz the Light Monarch from his hand to Special Summon Edea the Heavenly Squire. He used its effect to Special Summon Eidos the Underworld Squire, and then he ended his turn.
Fisher started with a hand of Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord, Performapal Skullcrobat Joker, Bottomless Trap Hole, Draco Face-Off, and Dinomist Ceratops before he drew Dinomist Charge for turn. He activated the Dinomist Charge and used it to add Dinomist Brachion to his hand, before he Special Summoned it alongside Dinomist Ceratops. He then activated Draco Face-Off, pitting Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord against Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. Evil triumphed as Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord hit the Field and Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer was placed in the Extra Deck. Fisher followed it up with the Normal Summon of Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and used its effect to add Performapal Monkeyboard. He activated the Performapal Monkeyboard next as a Pendulum Scale and used it to add Performapal Lizardraw. He overlayed both Dinomists for Cyber Dragon Nova, then stacked Cyber Dragon Infinity on top of that. He then placed Performapal Lizardraw in his Pendulum Zone and Pendulum Summoned both Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer from his Extra Deck as well as Vector Pendulum, the Dracoverlord from his hand. He then Synchroed both away for Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer , using its effect to Special Summon Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. He activated Performapal Lizardraw and drew Armageddon Knight, then fused away the Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Performapal Skullcrobat Joker for Dinoster Power, the Mighty Dracoslayer. He used the effect of Cyber Dragon Infinity to take the opposing Eidos the Underworld Squire, and then used Ignister Prominence, the Blasting Dracoslayer to destroy his Performapal Monkeyboard and spin away the opposing Eidos the Underworld Squire so he could attack for game!
Dinomist Charge allows Fisher to accelerate into an easy win on the first turn thanks to a massive amount of damage paired with removal. Can Mccombe tribute his way to victory in games two and three?
Both Duelists chatted while Side Decking. Once they were finished, Mccombe chose to go first.
Duel Two:
Mccombe drew and ended his turn.
Fisher had a hand of Cyber Dragon, Wavering Eyes, Instant Fusion, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, Mask of Restrict, and drew Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer. He placed Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer and Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer in his Pendulum Zone and then activated Wavering Eyes, destroying both his Pendulums to deal 500 to Mccombe and let him search Performapal Monkeyboard. He activated the Performapal Monkeyboard next, and used it to add Performapal Lizardraw which he then placed in his Pendulum Zone. He Pendulum Summoned Master Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer, and Cyber Dragon, then used the effect of Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer to destroy both of his Scales so he could add Performapal Skullcrobat Joker and Performapal Guitartle. He Normal Summoned Performapal Skullcrobat Joker next and used it to add Performapal Lizardraw. He placed Performapal Guitartle and the Performapal Lizardraw in his Pendulum Zone, drawing a Performapal Pendulum Sorcerer for Performapal Guitartle before he destroyed Performapal Lizardraw and drew Dinomist Ceratops. He activated Instant Fusion to Special Summon Panzer Dragon, then overlayed it with Cyber Dragon for Cyber Dragon Nova and then into Cyber Dragon Infinity! After a bit of math, that was more than enough to end the Duel!
In lightning fast manner, Fisher defeats Mccombe 2-0 with his Performapal Deck utilizing the Dinomist engine! Kyle Fisher starts the day off with a 1-0 record!
