While the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series attracts the most experienced Duelists around the country, everyone has to start somewhere! I spoke to a few people who are entering their first YCS today!

19-year-old Angelo DeGiule is from Enfield, CT. He’s been playing the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG for 5 years and has brought his Phantom Knight / Burning Abyss to this weekend’s event. When asked how he think he’s going to do today, he replied “hopefully not terribly.”

17-year-old Alex Coffey, also from Enfield CT, is going to enter the tournament with his PSY-Frame deck. Of note is his inclusion of Ojama King in his Extra Deck. When asked why he included a monster he couldn’t Summon, he responded “because I had space in the Extra Deck.”

Bradley Webster, the 3^rd of three friends here from Enfield CT is 19-years-old and is running Burning Abyss with Kaiju monsters.

16-Year-old Matt Foley is from Rhode Island with a Toon deck! “Gameplay-wise, it’s inconsistent, but it’s fun!”
