The WCQ Trophies Are Totally Lit! (Literally)
We’ve got a little downtime before Round 3 kicks off!
The VIP Champions in attendance here this weekend will enter the tournament momentarily thanks to their two rounds of free byes, but before they do, let’s take a look at this year’s World Championship Qualifier trophies.
These trophies will be awarded to the Top 8 in the all-ages World Championship Qualifier: the yellow trophies are for Quarterfinalists; the green will go to Semifinalists in the Top 4; the blue trophy will go home with the Runner-Up Finalist; and the red trophy – the largest of them all – is reserved for the new Central American Champion.
If you remember last year’s WCQ trophies these may look familiar. Even the colors are a tradition. But this year each trophy’s accompanied by a light-up LED base, which makes them glow like never before. It’s a nice touch, and it’s attracting a lot of attention here this weekend.
The Top 4 Dragon Duel WCQ finishers will earn trophies as well, in the same colors and with the same light-up LED base tech. Cool stuff!
A lot of different trophies have been awarded for different contests across the history of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, but that illumination effect really pushes this year’s trophies to new heights. They’re gonna make an awesome addition to whatever mantle they wind up on.
