Duel One
Furman won the roll and elected to go first.
Furman started off with Pot of Desires, Majesty’s Pegasus, Terraforming, and two copies of Majespecter Toad – Ogama. He activated Terraforming to add Secret Village of the Spellcasters to his hand. He then activated Pot of Desires, banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck to draw Archfiend Eccentric and Majespecter Fox – Kyubi. He proceeded to Normal Summon Majespecter Fox – Kyubi, using its effect to add Majespecter Tempest to his hand. He then activated Majesty’s Pegasus and used its effect to Tribute Majespecter Fox – Kyubi to Special Summon Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku from the Deck, and Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku’s effect was used to add another copy of Majespecter Fox – Kyubi from his Deck to his hand. He then placed Majespecter Fox – Kyubi and Archfiend Eccentric in the Pendulum Zones and Pendulum Summoned Majespecter Fox – Kyubi from the Extra Deck along with two copies of Majespecter Toad – Ogama from the hand. Majespecter Toad – Ogama’s effect set Majespecter Tornado directly from the Deck. Furman activated Secret Village of the Spellcasters, Set the Majespecter Tempest, and passed his turn.
Mahon started off by Normal Summoning Sage with Eyes of Blue and Furman used Majespecter Tempest, Tributing Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku to negate Sage’s effect and destroy it. Mahon pressed on by revealing a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from his hand to Special Summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon! He went into the Battle Phase and tried to attack into Majespecter Fox – Kyubi, but Furman activated Majespecter Tornado, Tributing Majespecter Fox – Kyubi to banish Alternative. Mahon set a card to his back row and passed.
Furman drew Ties of the Brethren! He Pendulum Summoned Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku and Majespecter Fox – Kyubi from the Extra Deck and activated both effects, searching for Majespecter Tornado and Majespecter Cat – Nekomata. He then Normal Summoned Majespecter Cat – Nekomata and activated its effect to search in the End Phase. Furman then combined his Majespecter Cat – Nekomata and Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku to Xyz Summon Totem Bird! He attacked with all four monsters, reducing Mahon to 2000 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Furman used Archfiend Eccentric to destroy itself and the face-down Return of the Dragon Lords. Furman set 2 cards and in the End Phase, Furman searched for Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku using Majespecter Cat – Nekomata’s effect.
Mahon drew for turn and couldn’t find an answer to the field, so he conceded the first Duel of the Match.
Duel 2
Mahon started off Duel 2 by activating Galaxy Soldier from his hand, discarding Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon to Summon it. When Galaxy Soldier was Special Summoned, its effect activated, searching for another Galaxy Soldier to add to his hand. He then Special Summoned that Soldier by discarding Effect Veiler. He then used the two Galaxy Soldiers to Xyz Summon Cyber Dragon Nova, and upgraded it into Cyber Dragon Infinity! He set one card to his back row and passed his turn.
Furman started with a hand of Majespecter Unicorn – Kirin, Raigeki, Pot of Desires, Majespecter Tempest, Maxx “C”, and Cosmic Cyclone. He activated Cosmic Cyclone in the Standby Phase, paying 1000 Life Points to attempt to banish Mahon’s lone face-down card; but Mahon negated Cosmic Cyclone with Cyber Dragon Infinity’s effect. In Main Phase 1, Furman activated Pot of Desires, banishing 10 cards face-down to draw another Pot of Desires and Majespecter Cat – Nekomata. He Summoned the Cat and activated its effect, but Mahon negated it with Solemn Strike! Majespecter Cat – Nekomata wasn’t destroyed due to its own effect. Raigeki came down next, destroying Cyber Dragon Infinity. Majespecter Cat – Nekomata attacked directly and in Main Phase 2 Furman set Majespecter Tempest and passed.
Mahon drew for turn and activated Soul Charge, targeting both Galaxy Soldiers and Cyber Dragon Infinity! Furman chained Maxx “C”, drawing Archfiend Eccentric. Mahon used Cyber Dragon Infinity’s effect to absorb one of his own Galaxy Soldiers as an Xyz Material. He Set a monster and passed his turn.
Furman drew another Majespecter Tempest. He activated the second Pot of Desires, banishing another 10 cards from his Deck to draw Dark Hole and Majespecter Crow – Yata. Furman activated Dark Hole, Mahon chained Cyber Dragon Infinity’s effect to try to negate it, and Furman chained his face-down Majespecter Tempest to negate Cyber Dragon Infinity’s effect and destroy all monsters on the field. The face-down monster was The White Stone of Legend which activated its effect to add a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from Mahon’s Deck to his hand. Furman pressed on by activating Archfiend Eccentric and Majespecter Unicorn – Kirin as Pendulum Scales, and then Majespecter Cat – Nekomata and Majespecter Crow – Yata were Pendulum Summoned. In the Battle Phase, Majespecter Crow – Yata attacked directly. Furman set 2 cards and in the End Phase, Majespecter Cat – Nekomata’s search found a Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku and added it to Furman’s hand.
Mahon drew a card and activated Twin Twisters, discarding a Blue-Eyes White Dragon to destroy Furman’s Pendulum Scales. He passed with an empty field.
Furman Normal Summoned Majespecter Raccoon – Bunbuku, and that was enough to prompt Mahon’s concession!
Aaron Furman starts off his tournament with a win, giving him a 3-0 record!
