November 28th, 2016

It’s the Dragon Duel Finals! We’ve got Rohan Motie, yesterday’s Dragon Duel winner, up against Connor Ruuspakka, the winner from today. Motie made the trip here from the Orlando, Florida area, while Ruuspakka is from San Diego, California. While the Duelists won their Dragon Duel tournaments using Sealed Battle Packs, now they’re going to use their Advanced Format Constructed Decks. The winner here will take home a Set of the Darklord YCS Prize Cards, as well as a trophy for becoming YCS Anaheim Dragon Duel Champion!

Duel 1

Motie won the dice roll and chose to play first. He began with a hand of Solemn Strike, Paleozoic Canadia, 2 Paleozoic Dinomischus, and Paleozoic Olenoides. He Set everything!

Ruuspakka Set one to his back row. Next, he pitched Dupe Frog to Special Summon Swap Frog, and lost it to Solemn Strike. He Normal Summoned Barrier Statue of the Torrent and passed. In the End Phase, Paleozoic Olenoides destroyed Ruuspakka’s Set Dimensional Barrier.

Motie drew Paleozoic Canadia. He used his face-down Canadia on the Barrier Statue, and revived Olenoides. It destroyed the Barrier Statue in battle, and Motie Set Canadia to finish.

Ruuspakka simply passed.

Motie drew Waboku. He sent Olenoides in to attack, then Set Waboku.

Ruuspakka destroyed Dupe Frog and Aquaactress Guppy to play True King Bahrastos, the Fathomer! It used its effect, and Motie responded with Paleozoic Dinomischus to banish it. He also revived Canadia at the same time! Ruuspakka had no further plays.

Motie drew Dimensional Barrier. He attacked with Olenoides and Canadia. Then, he Set Dimensional Barrier, and Xyz Summoned Toadally Awesome.
