We’re in the final round of Swiss here at YCS Denver! This Match features a Deck that’s a bit of a surprise: Kozmos! David Lopez, from Phoenix, AZ, is using a Kozmo Deck built to beat the meta! He’s playing triple Kozmoll Wickedwitch, which is amazing against Zoodiac Drident and can even interrupt Paleozoics (since they need to be Special Summoned in direct response to a Trap Card). His opponent is Anderson Tsang, from San Francisco, CA, who is using Infernoids – definitely one of the strongest Decks right now, partly thanks to That Grass Looks Greener. It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Lopez began with a hand of Storming Mirror Force, Call of the Haunted, Emergency Teleport, Raigeki, and Kozmo Farmgirl. He Set his Trap Cards and moved to the End Phase. He played Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Kozmo Tincan, adding Kozmo Dark Eclipser to his hand and sending Kozmo Forerunner and Kozmo Dark Destroyer to the Graveyard. He banished Tincan to Special Summon Eclipser.

Tsang began with That Grass Looks Greener! He sent 18 cards to the Graveyard, including 3 Fairy Tail – Snow, an Infernoid Onuncu, and 3 copies of Void Feast. He played Pot of Desires next, removing another ten cards from his Deck to draw two cards. He Special Summoned Onuncu, which destroyed Eclipser with its effect. Eclipser added Kozmo Strawman to Lopez’s hand. Tsang Normal Summoned Speedroid Terrortop, and didn’t use its effect. He attacked with Onuncu and Terrortop, then Special Summoned Fairy Tail – Snow from his Graveyard and attacked with it as well. Lopez was down to 1450 Life Points… and Tsang Special Summoned another Snow! It attacked, and Lopez used Storming Mirror Force! Tsang used Onuncu’s effect, Tributing itself to negate it, and Lopez used Call of the Haunted to bring back Dark Destroyer and destroy a Snow! Tsang Set a back row card to finish.

Lopez drew Maxx “C”. He played Strawman, and Tsang flipped Enemy Controller! He Tributed Snow to try taking Strawman, but Lopez banished Strawman to Special Summon Farmgirl! He attacked directly with Dark Destroyer and Farmgirl, and used Farmgirl’s effect to add Kozmo Forerunner to his hand. He banished Farmgirl to Special Summon Forerunner and attacked with it as well, leaving Tsang with just 700 Life Points!

Tsang Summoned Zoodiac Ratpier, and Lopez used Maxx “C”. Tsang Special Summoned Zoodiac Broadbull and added Zoodiac Whiptail to his hand, then upgraded Broadbull into Zoodiac Boarbow! He attached Whiptail to it, and it attacked directly with its effect! After, Tsang mentioned that he knew he’d win if he drew any Zoodiac (thanks to Boarbow), but only if Lopez had paid the 500 Life Points to use Farmgirl’s effect.

Duel 2

Lopez began with Mirror Force, Kozmoll Wickedwitch, Kozmo Forerunner, Dark Hole, and Kozmotown. He Set Mirror Force and Normal Summoned Wickedwitch.

Tsang Summoned Fairy Tail – Snow, targeting Wickedwitch, and Lopez responded by banishing it to Special Summon Forerunner. Tsang played Void Vanishment, discarding a Snow from his hand to get Void Feast. He Set three cards to his back row.

Lopez drew his second Dark Hole, and gained 1000 Life Points with Forerunner. He played Kozmotown and added Wickedwitch back to his hand. Forerunner attacked to destroy Snow. In Main Phase 2, he used Kozmotown to shuffle away Wickedwitch, but drew another Wickedwitch.

Tsang played Zoodiac Ratpier, and used its effect to send Zoodiac Barrage to the Graveyard. He upgraded Ratpier into Boarbow, then upgraded that into Broadbull. He Special Summoned another Ratpier, then used Broadbull’s effect to add Whiptail to his hand. He played Twin Twisters, discarding Whiptail to destroy Lopez’s Mirror Force and Kozmotown – Lopez used Kozmotown to add another Kozmotown to his hand. Tsang flipped up Void Feast, sending his Vanishment to the Graveyard to Special Summon 2 Infernoid Decatrons and an Infernoid Sjette. The Decatrons sent Infernoid Onuncu and Infernoid Devyaty to the Graveyard. Tsang then upgraded Ratpier into Zoodiac Tigermortar, then combined Tigermortar and Broadbull into Number F0: Utopic Future! It stole Forerunner, and all his monsters dropped Lopez to 2600 Life Points. He then banished the Forerunner and six more cards to Special Summon Fairy Tail – Snow and attacked directly. Finally, he banished another 7 cards to play his second Snow, and attacked to take the Match!

Anderson Tsang is the victor, with Infernoids!
