YCS Denver Prizes Part 2: Public Events Edition
If you think a YCS is just one big tournament, you’re missing the big picture!
A YCS does feature one huge Main Event, but there are also tons of Public Events with awesome prizes! There are game mats, tokens, and more special items just waiting to be won!
Always popular, we have 16-player Regional Qualifier flights. First place gets an invitation to the World Championship Qualifier, along with the Zoodiac Regional game mat and the new hot pink Regional Deck box. If you haven’t managed to qualify for the WCQ at a normal Regional, this is a great opportunity to make the cut. Don’t forget – the winner also gets one World Qualifying Point, bringing you one step closer to earning an invite to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME 2017 World Championship!
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Day event puts 8 Duelists against each other for some awesome items from the recent Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions movie! First place gets a game mat with alternative artworks of Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and everyone gets an exclusive Token with Yugi, Kaiba, and Aigami!
Battle City tournaments are similar, but a little tougher with sixteen Duelists. First place gets this awesome Ojama game mat and their choice of a token card out of a set of 4, and the second, third, and fourth place Duelists also get a token card. There are a total of 7 tokens, so you never know which token is up for grabs, except for the Battle City token card.
The fan-favorite ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!! returns once again here at YCS Denver! This event gives 32 Duelists the opportunity to win a GIANT version of a card. This time, the options are Zoodiac Ratpier and Masked Hero Blast!
Win-A-Mat is exactly what it sounds like. 8 Duelists go in, and one comes out with a game mat that can only be obtained in a Win-A-Mat tournament. This time, it’s an awesome Aster Phoenix mat!
The 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling tournament lets you team up with friends to win framed, uncut sheets of Secret Rares! The prizes this time come from Raging Tempest.
We’ve got a wide variety of Starter Deck and Structure Deck tournaments. In them, you’ll be given a Starter or Structure Deck – and everyone else in the tournament gets the same one. Win, and you’ll get a game mat to go with your Deck!
Finally, the best Public Event (no bias here) – it’s the Dragon Duel tournament! This is for Duelists born in 2004 or later. These young Duelists receive a Battle Pack: Epic Dawn Sealed Deck for the tournament, and the Top 4 get all kinds of prizes. They’ll receive a Regional game mat (the same one featured at the top of this article), a T-shirt, and an awesome medal! Plus, they’ll qualify to play in the Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier this summer!
On top of all that, the winners of Saturday’s and Sunday’s Dragon Duel tournaments will Duel for an amazing trophy and a Super Rare set of Darklord YCS Prize Cards!
There’s even more than all of this! We’ve also got the Generation Duel event, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series, Duelist League, and UDS Qualifiers. There’s no shortage of things to do at a YCS!
