YCS Pittsburgh First-Timers!
There are lots of Duelists competing this weekend, but not all of them are highly experienced players. Check out some of the Duelists who are attending their first-ever Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event here in Pittsburgh!
Kevin Chong from New York City is 20 years old and competing this weekend with his Dinosaur Yang Zing Deck. He traveled here with some friends this weekend, and although he has been Dueling for the past thirteen years, he had never been to a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series tournament before! Chong’s favorite card is Denglong, First of the Yang Zing, which you can see him holding up in the picture below!
8-year-old Micah Blay from the Washington, D.C. area really enjoyed the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series. His favorite character is Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal’s main protagonist, Yuma! After being introduced to the television series, Micah started to enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh! books, and then his mom bought him some cards. “The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG has pushed him to read the cards and compete,” Micah’s mom says. “I’m so grateful for that.” Micah’s mom brought him to a local Official Tournament Store, Dream Wizards, where the store employees and other Duelists were kind enough to help him along. All of their assistance paid off, as Micah got his Dragon Duel WCQ invitation today! Take a look at Micah holding up his favorite card, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Five-and-a-half year old Riley Blay is another YCS First-Timer in attendance this weekend. Riley played in his first Dragon Duel tournament this weekend. “I beat 2 people!”, he exclaimed about his success this weekend. Riley brings Yu-Gi-Oh! cards to school and gets other kids to play against him. Riley couldn’t choose just one favorite card, and instead decided that his favorites are “All of them!”. In any case, here’s a picture of five-and-a-half year old Riley Blay wielding the incredible power of Solemn Judgment.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series is enjoying to experienced Duelists and new players alike! Make sure to stop by if there’s a YCS near you!
