Round 10 Feature Match: Ricardo Lora Zavala vs. Juan Israel Galvez Vallejo

June 25th, 2017

Ricardo Lora Zavala from Mexico City qualified for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship in 2010 by winning the Central American World Championship Qualifier. Now he’s back, looking for an opportunity to qualify for the World Championship a second time. And which Deck did he trust to earn him his invitation to compete there? A Dinosaur Deck completely devoid of Zoodiac monsters. So far, Lora has managed to pilot his Dinosaur Deck to a 7-1-1 record, proving that his trust in his Deck is well-placed. But Zoodiac Duelist Juan Israel Galvez Vallejo from Zelaya, Mexico is looking to take Lora down right now in order to assure himself a spot in the Top 64. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Galvez started off Duel 1 by Summoning Zoodiac Ratpier.

Galvez

He activated its effect, and Lora discarded Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from his hand to destroy Ratpier. Ratpier’s effect send Zoodiac Combo from the Deck to the Graveyard. Galvez Set a card to his back row and passed.

Lora drew a card and then had Twin Twisters, Dragonic Diagram, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and 2 copies of Fossil Dig in his hand. He activated Fossil Dig to add Miscellaneousaurus top his hand and then used Twin Twisters to discard it and destroy Galvez’s face-down Solemn Strike. Next, he banished Miscellaneousaurus from his Graveyard to Special Summon Jurrac Aeolo from his Deck. He activated Fossil Dig to add Souleating Oviraptor to his hand, and then used its effect to add Ultimate Tyranno Conductor to his hand. He Tuned Aeolo with Oviraptor to Synchro Summon Hi-Speedroid Chanbara and then Special Summoned Ultimate Tyranno Conductor from his hand by banishing Oviraptor and Aeolo from the Graveyard. Galvez immediately conceded, realizing he was defeated in a single turn!

Galvez was left with no cards on his field or in his hand, and a diminished Extra Deck torn apart by Lithosagym’s effect earlier in the turn. Lithosagym attacked directly and Lora passed.
