Andrea Huerta Morales from Puebla, Mexico and Steve Ramkissoon from Trinidad & Tobago are both currently 6-1 in the tournament. Huerta is using a True Draco Zoodiac Deck while her opponent, Steve Ramkissoon, is using a Zoodiac Deck without the True Draco cards. Will the added power of the True Dracos allow Huerta to prevail, or will the consistency of Ramkissoon’s pure Zoodiac Deck be too much for Steve Ramkissoon to overcome? It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Ramkissoon started off Duel 1 by Summoning Zoodiac Thoroughblade and activated its effect to discard Zoodiac Whiptail and draw a card.

He Xyz Summoned Zoodiac Boarbow over Thoroughblade and then Zoodiac Chakanine over Boarbow. He used Chakanine’s effect to Special Summon Whiptail from his Graveyard in Attack Position and then Xyz Summoned Zoodiac Broadbull over Chakanine and used its effect to add Zoodiac Ratpier to his hand. He upgraded Broadbull into Zoodiac Hammerkong, and then Xyz Summoned Zoodiac Drident over Hammerkong. He Set a card to his back row before passing.

Huerta opened Duel 2 with 2 copies of Cosmic Cyclone, Dragonic Diagram, Terraforming, My Body as a Shield, and Zoodiac Barrage. She activated Cosmic Cyclone to banish Ramkissoon’s face-down Torrential Tribute and then used Terraforming to try to grab a Field Spell Card from her Deck; but Ramkissoon discarded Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from his hand to negate it. Next, Huerta activated Dragonic Diagram and Set Cosmic Cyclone. She tried to use the Diagram’s effect, but lost out to Ramkissoon’s Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. She ended her turn without making a further play.

Ramkissoon Xyz Summoned Broadbull over Drident, and used Broadbull’s effect to add Zoodiac Whiptail from his Deck to his hand. Next, he Xyz Summoned Chakanine over Broadbull, and used its effect to Special Summon Drident from his Graveyard. He attacked directly with Whiptail and Chakanine, dropping Huerta down to 4200 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, he Normal Summoned Thoroughblade and used its effect to discard Ratpier and draw a card from his Deck. He then Xyz Summoned Tigermortar over Ratpier, and used its effect to Special Summon another Ratpier from his Deck. He combined Ratpier with Whiptail to Xyz Summon Tornado Dragon, and activated its effect by detaching Whiptail to destroy Huerta’s face-down Cosmic Cyclone. Ramkissoon Xyz Summoned Drident by using Chakanine as an Xyz Material next, and Set a card face-down before ending his turn.

Huerta drew Zoodiac Ramram and Summoned it. Ramkissoon used Drident’s effect to destroy Ramram, and when Huerta Chained My Body as a Shield to try to protect her monster, Ramkissoon flipped his own copy of My Body as a Shield to negate Huerta’s copy of My Body as a Shield and assure Ramram’s destruction! Desperate for a play, Huerta activated Zoodiac Barrage; but when Ramkissoon destroyed it with Tornado Dragon as expected, Huerta conceded.

Ramkissoon takes a quick victory in Duel 1 as he counters Huerta’s copy of My Body as a Shield with his own to shut down her last chance at victory!

Duel Two

Huerta opened Duel 2 with True Draco Heritage, Fire Formation – Tenki, My Body as a Shield, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, and Zoodiac Whiptail.

She activated Fire Formation – Tenki first, using its effect to add Zoodiac Ratpier to her hand. Next, she Normal Summoned it and activated its effect. Ramkissoon tried to destroy the Ratpier with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, but Huerta Chained My Body as a Shield to protect it at the cost of 1500 Life Points! Ratpier’s effect resolved to send Zoodiac Ramram to the Graveyard, and then Huerta Xyz Summoned Zoodiac Hammerkong over Ratpier, and then Zoodiac Broadbull over Hammerkong. She activated Broadbull’s effect granted by Ratpier to Special Summon another Ratpier from her Deck, and then used Broadbull’s other effect to add Zoodiac Whiptail to her hand. She Xyz Summoned Chakanine over Broadbull next, and used its effect to Special Summon Ramram from her Graveyard in Defense Position. She Xyz Summoned Boarbow over Chakanine and then Xyz Summoned Drident over Boarbow. She used Drident’s effect to destroy her own Ramram, allowing her to Special Summon Ratpier from the Graveyard. She combined both of her Ratpiers to Xyz Summon Daigusto Emeral, and then used Daigusto Emeral’s effect to send Boarbow and Broadbull from her Graveyard back to her Extra Deck, and shuffle Ratpier from her Graveyard back into her Deck and draw Zoodiac Whiptail.

Ramkissoon started off his turn by Tributing Huerta’s Drident to Summon Kumongous, the Sticky String Kaiju to her field. He Summoned Whiptail next, and Xyz Summoned Boarbow over it. He Xyz Summoned Broadbull over Boarbow next, and activated its effect to add Zoodiac Ratpier from his Deck to his hand. He Xyz Summoned Chakanine over Broadbull, and then detached an Xyz Material to Special Summon Whiptail from his Graveyard in Attack Position. Next, he Xyz Summoned Drident over Chakanine. He used Drident’s effect to destroy Daigusto Emeral, and when Huerta tried to use Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy Drident, Ramkissoon used My Body as a Shield to protect it! Ramkissoon Set a card to his back row before ending his turn.

Huerta drew Zoodiac Barrage! She Summoned Whiptail and Ramkissoon used Drident’s effect to destroy it by giving up its last Xyz Material. Next, Huerta activated True Draco Heritage. She activated Zoodiac Barrage next, and used its effect to destroy Heritage and Special Summon Thoroughblade from her Deck. She used Thoroughblade’s effect to discard a Whiptail and draw Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and used the effect of Heritage to destroy Ramkissoon’s face-down Mirror Force! She Xyz Summoned Boarbow over Thoroughblade and Tigermortar over Boarbow. Next, she used Tigermortar’s effect to swap an Xyz Material for Ratpier, and then detached an Xyz Material to Special Summon Ratpier from her Deck. She Xyz Summoned Chakanine using Tigermortar as an Xyz Material next, and used its effect to Special Summon Ramram from her Graveyard in Defense Position. She Xyz Summoned Drident using Chakanine, and then activated Drident’s effect to destroy Ramram. She activated Ramram’s effect to Special Summon Whiptail from her Graveyard in Attack Position. Kumongous attacked Drident, and Ramkissoon attached Whiptail from his hand to Drident, allowing Drident to banish the Kumongous from the Duel when it went down in battle. Drident attacked Ramkissoon’s Whiptail next, and Huerta gave it a 1200 ATK boost by attaching a Whiptail from her hand. Finally, Huerta attacked with her other on-field Whiptail, dropping Ramkissoon down to 3300 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Huerta combined Ratpier with Whiptail to Xyz Summon Tornado Dragon.

Ramkissoon topdecked Dark Hole and activated it to clear the field! He Normal Summoned Ratpier next, and used its effect to send Ramram to his Graveyard. He Xyz Summoned Hammerkong over Ratpier, and then detached an Xyz Material to Special Summon another Ratpier from his Deck. He Xyz Summoned Chakanine over Hammerkong next, and used its effect to Special Summon Ramram from his Graveyard in Attack Position. He Xyz Summoned Tigermortar by using Chakanine as an Xyz Material, and activated its effect to swap its Xyz Material for Whiptail. Next, he Xyz Summoned Broadbull over Tigermortar, and detached Chakanine to activate its effect and add Whiptail to his hand. He Xyz Summoned Drident over Broadbull, and then used its effect to destroy Ramram. He Special Summoned Ratpier from his Graveyard and then combined his two Ratpiers to Summon Tornado Dragon! He detached an Xyz Material from Tornado Dragon to destroy Huerta’s Zoodiac Barrage, and then attacked directly with Drident and Tornado Dragon to drop Huerta down to 3200 Life Points.

Huerta drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, adding it to her hand of Dragonic Diagram. She Set Ash Blossom to try to survive another turn.

Ramkissoon Xyz Summoned Chakanine over Drident, and then used Chakanine’s effect to Special Summon Ramram from his Graveyard in Attack Position. He Xyz Summoned Tigermortar over Chakanine, and activated its effect by detaching Chakanine to attach Boarbow from his Graveyard as an Xyz Material instead. He Normal Summoned Whiptail next, and then attacked the face-down Ash Blossom with Tigermortar, banishing it from the Duel thanks to the Whiptail that was attached as an Xyz Material. Direct attacks from Ramram, Tornado Dragon, and Whiptail wiped out the rest of Huerta’s Life Points!
