The new Forbidden & Limited List for the Advanced Format took effect just 5 days ago, crippling all of the most popular tournament Decks. Zoodiacs took a big hit with the Forbidding of Zoodiac Broadbull and Zoodiac Drident and the Limitation on Zoodiac Ratpier; True Dracos lost out with Dinomight Knight, the True Dracofighter being Forbidden, and with Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior and True King’s Return being Limited; and Dinosaur Decks are now allowed to use only one copy of Miscellaneousaurus and no copies of True King Lithosagym, the Disaster. With the previous Advanced Format’s top Decks all substantially weakened, competitive Duelists have spent the last few days scrambling to determine which Decks are now the most powerful.

Complicating the situation even more, Limitations were lifted on several powerful cards, including Rescue Cat, Witch of the Black Forest, Honest, Charge of the Light Brigade, and Wavering Eyes, causing Duelists to wonder whether or not these changes will have a major impact on the tournament scene. The change to Semi-Limited status on Luster Pendulum, the Dracoslayer, Burial From a Different Dimension, Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning and more are also anticipated to have an effect this weekend.

The confusion about the state of the current competitive scene is reflected in the assortment of Decks that Duelists are using this weekend. World Chalice, ABC, Kozmo, True King Dinosaur, Pendulum Magician, True Draco, Infernoid, Metalfoes, Zefra, Trickstar, and SPYRAL Decks are all competing in the UDS this weekend, and it’s anyone’s guess which Deck and which Duelist will win. This weekend’s competition won’t be easy, as only the best Duelists who have accumulated 100 or more UDS Points are allowed to compete. But one Duelist will take home the title of Ultimate Duelist along with the accompanying Ultimate Duelist Series Championship Belt and other awesome prizes. The UDS Invitational – Summer 2017 is about to begin!
