Michael Campos from Arlington, Texas is Dueling against Kerry Nugent from Corydon, Indiana in our Round 1 Feature Match! Campos is using a Krawler Deck made possible by the release of Circuit Break. All of the Krawler monsters that can be included in a Main Deck are Flip Effect Monsters with an extra effect that Special Summons 2 more Krawlers from the Deck to the field if they leave the field while face-up as a result of the opponent’s card effect. Campos’s opponent is a YCS first-timer, and he’s using Infernoids this weekend! Infernoids are expected to be a powerful Deck for this tournament, and Kerry Nugent is betting his hopes and dreams of becoming a YCS winner on his Infernoid Deck. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Nugent started off Duel 1 by activating One for One, discarding Fairy Tail – Snow.

Campos Chained the effect of Maxx “C”. Nugent Special Summoned Infernoid Decatron, prompting Campos to draw a card, and then Decatron’s effect sent Infernoid Devyaty to the Graveyard to copy its effect.

Campos drew a card and then had Threatening Roar, Pot of Desires, 2 copies of Krawler Receptor, and 2 copies of Krawler Axon in his hand. He Summoned Krawler Receptor and attacked Decatron to destroy it. He activated Pot of Desires in Main Phase 2, banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck face down, but losing out on the draw effect to Nugent’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Campos Set Threatening Road and then passed his turn.

Nugent banished Decatron from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Patrulea from his hand, and used its effect to try to destroy Threatening Roar, which Campos Chained.

Campos drew World Legacy in Shadow and then Normal Summoned Krawler Axon. He sent his 2 Krawlers to the Graveyard to Link Summon X-Krawler Qualiark. Next, he activated World Legacy in Shadow and used its effect to Set Krawler Receptor. He attacked and destroyed Patrulea with Qualiark and then ended his turn.

Nugent activated Void Imagination and used its effect to send Infernoid Seitsemas, Infernoid Onuncu, Infernoid Attondel, Infernoid Antra, Infernoid Devyaty, and Infernoid Patrulea to his Graveyard, Summoning Infernoid Tierra to the field! Each Duelist sent 3 cards to the Extra Deck and then sent the top 3 cards of the Main Deck to the Graveyard due to Tierra’s effect. Nugent sent three copies of Elder Entity N’tss from his Graveyard to his Extra Deck, allowing him to activate their effects to destroy all 3 cards on Campos’s field. Campos used his destroyed Qualiark’s effect to Special Summon Receptor and Axon from his Graveyard face-down to the field. Campos attacked and destroyed the face-down Receptor, and Campos added Krawler Spine from his Deck to his hand with its Flip Effect. Next, Nugent Special Summoned Fairy Tail – Snow from his Graveyard by banishing 7 cards from his Graveyard, and attacked and destroyed the face-down Receptor.

Campos drew Storming Mirror Force and Set it along with Krawler Spine.

Nugent Summoned Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner and then attacked Campos’s face-down monster with Tierra; but Campos flipped Storming Mirror Force, returning Tierra to the Extra Deck and returning Lumina and Snow to Nugent’s hand. Nugent banished three Infernities from his Graveyard in Main Phase 2 to Special Summon Infernoid Devyaty from his Graveyard.

Campos drew Quaking Mirror Force and then Flip Summoned Krawler Spine. He used its effect to destroy Devyaty, and when Nugent Tributed Devyaty to negate its effect and banish Spine, Campos Special Summoned Krawler Glial and Krawler Ranvier from his Deck face-down. Campos Set Set Krawler Axon and Quaking Mirror Force before ending his turn, leaving him without any cards in his hand.

Nugent activated Pot of Desires and banished the top 10 cards of his Deck face-down to draw 2 cards. Next, he banished Infernoid Attondel, Infernoid Sjette, and Infernoid Devyaty from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Onuncu, and used its effect to destroy all of Campos’s monsters! Nugent Normal Summoned Snow next and declared a direct attack; but Campos flipped Quaking Mirror Force to flip Nugent’s monsters face-down!

Campos drew and Set Krawler Spine.

Nugent activated Monster Gate, Tributing his face-down Devyaty to Special Summon the top card of his Deck: Maxx “C”. Next, he banished 3 more Infernoids from his Graveyard to Special Summon Onuncu from his hand, and used its effect to destroy all other monsters on the field! He Normal Summoned Lumina next, and attacked directly with Onuncu and Lumina.

Campos drew World Legacy in Shadow and activated it, but Nugent negated and destroyed it with Onuncu’s effect by Tributing Lumina.

Nugent returned Snow to his field on his next turn, and direct attacks from Fairy Tail – Snow and Infernoid Onuncu wiped out Campos’s remaining 4000 Life Points!

Kerry Nugent takes the first victory of the Match after successfully using Void Imagination and sending three copies of Elder Entity N’tss to the Graveyard!

Duel Two

Campos opened up Duel 2 with Solemn Warning, World Legacy in Shadow, Krawler Axon, and 2 copies of Krawler Spine.

He activated World Legacy in Shadow and used its effect to Special Summon Krawler Spine to his field in Defense Position. Next, he Normal Summoned Axon to the field and combined his 2 monsters to Link Summon X-Krawler Qualiark in the Extra Monster Zone. He Set Solemn Warning before passing.

Nugent started off his turn by activating Cosmic Cyclone and paying 1000 Life Points to banish Solemn Warning. Next, he activated Void Vanishment and used its effect to discard Infernoid Onuncu and add Void Imagination to his hand. He activated Void Imagination and used its effect to send 6 Infernoids from his Deck to his Graveyard and Special Summon Infernoid Tierra to his Extra Monster Zone. He activated Tierra’s effect in sequence, sending Psy-Framelord Omega and 2 copies of Elder Entity N’tss from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard; forcing Campos to send 3 cards from his Extra Deck to his Graveyard; and forcing each Duelist to send the top 3 cards of the Main Deck to the Graveyard. One N’tss’s effect destroyed World Legacy in Shadow, and then Tierra attacked and destroyed Qualiark, allowing Campos to Special Summon Spine and Axon to his field face-down.

Campos drew Krawler Receptor and then Flip Summoned Krawler Axon, using its effect to destroy Void Vanishment. Next, he Flip Summoned Spine, using its effect to destroy Tierra. He Link Summoned another Qualiark next, and attacked directly to drop Nugent down to 5000 Life Points. Campos Set Krawler Spine before passing.

Nugent Normal Summoned Fire King Avatar Arvata and then banished Tierra from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Harmadik from his hand. Next, he banished 3 Infernoids from his Graveyard to Special Summon Devyaty from his Graveyard. He attacked Qualiark with Devyaty to destroy it, and when Campos used the effect of his Qualiark, Nugent negated its effect with Arvata by destroying Seitsemas from his hand. Arvata attacked Nugent’s face-down Spine next, and Spine’s effect destroyed Tierra. Nugent banished 3 more Infernoids from his Graveyard in Main Phase 2 to Special Summon Devyaty to his field, and then used Harmadik’s effect to destroy Spine. Spine’s effect activated, but Campos negated it with Devyaty’s effect by Tributing Harmadik.

Campos Set Chain Disappearance and a Krawler.

Nugent activated Pot of Desires to banish the top 10 cards of his Deck face-down and draw 2 cards. Next, he Normal Summoned Snow and combined it with Arvata to Xyz Summon Tornado Dragon. He used its effect to destroy Chain Disappearance and then attacked a face-down Receptor with Devyaty. Receptor’s effect added Krawler Glial from Campos’s Deck to his hand. Next, Tornado Dragon attacked directly.

Campos drew Pot of Desires and activated it! He banished the top 10 cards of his Deck face-down to draw 2 copies of Storming Mirror Force from his Deck. He Set both of them along with his monster, and lost a Storming Mirror Force to Tornado Dragon in the End Phase.

Nugent activated Cosmic Cyclone to banish the other face-down Storming Mirror Force next turn, and then attacked a face-down Glial with Tornado Dragon. He used Devyaty’s effect to negate and destroy it, and then Glial’s effect activated to Set Receptor and Dendrite from his Deck. Devyaty attacked the face-down Dendrite, and its effect activated to send Axon from his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, Nugent banished 7 cards from his Graveyard to Special Summon Fairy Tail – Snow from his Graveyard, and attacked Campos’s face-down Krawler Receptor to destroy it. Its effect activated to add Krawler Axon to Campos’s hand.

Campos drew Quaking Mirror Force and Set it along with Axon.

Nugent attacked with Fairy Tail – Snow and Campos flipped Quaking Mirror Force to put Snow and Devyaty face-down. In Main Phase 2, Nugent banished 2 Infernoids from his Graveyard and 1 from his hand to Special Summon Onuncu from his Graveyard and use its effect to destroy all monsters on the field.

Campos drew World Legacy Pawns and Set it.

Nugent Set a monster and attacked directly with Onuncu. Campos flipped World Legacy Pawns in the End Phase.

Campos drew Unending Nightmare and Set it.

Nugent attacked with Onuncu, and Campos flipped Unending Nightmare and gave up 1000 Life Points to try to destroy his own World Legacy Pawns. When Campos negated the effect with Infernoid Onuncu by Tributing his face-down Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, the direct attack from Onuncu ended the Duel and the Match!
