It all comes down to this! Despite Pendulum Magician taking the largest share of representation in the field, the Finals has zero Pendulum Magician Decks anywhere to be found. Aaron Arturo Aguirre Osuna, the only Duelist to take a dedicated Zefra Deck to the UDS Invitational, takes on Kenneth Kuo and his Trickstar Deck. One of these Duelists will walk away as the winner of the UDS Invitational and with it, gain the title of Champion with a title belt and a 2-Round BYE at every YCS he enters. Who will be the Ultimate Duelist?  For the last time this weekend, it’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Kuo won the roll and elected to go first. He started with a hand of Trickstar Light Stage, Trickstar Lycoris, Anti-Spell Fragrance, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, and Honest. He activated Trickstar Light Stage and added Trickstar Candina from his Deck to his hand. He then Normal Summoned Trickstar Candina and used the effect to add Trickstar Reincarnation from his Deck to his hand. He swapped Trickstar Candina for Trickstar Lycoris in Defense Position, then Set Trickstar Reincarnation and Anti-Spell Fragrance and passed.

Aguirre Osuna drew and took 400 points of damage. Kuo activated Anti-Spell Fragrance in Aguirre Osuna’s Standby Phase. Aguirre Osuna Normal Summoned Stellarknight Zefraxciton and attacked into Trickstar Lycoris, destroying it in battle.

Kuo drew Terraforming. He used Trickstar Light Stage to freeze Aguirre Osuna’s face-down card. Then he Normal Summoned Trickstar Candina, but her effect was shut down by Aguirre Osuna’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He attacked Stellarknight Zefraxciton with Trickstar Candina and in the Damage Step he dropped Honest! He then activated Trickstar Reincarnation to banish Zefraath, Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Supreme King Gate Zero. In the Battle Phase, Kuo used Trickstar Reincarnation to Special Summon Trickstar Lycoris and it attacked. In Main Phase 2, he Set Terraforming and passed. Aguirre Osuna’s Set Upstart Goblin was sent to the Graveyard.

Aguirre Osuna drew and took 400 points of damage from Trickstar Lycoris. He set a Field Spell and a monster, then passed.

Kuo Special Summoned Eater of Millions. Eater of Millions cleared the face-down monster and the rest of the pop idols attacked to end the first Duel!

Duel 2

Aguirre Osuna elected to go first. He started with Dragon Shrine to dump Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm ,which was Special Summoned from the Graveyard. Its effect added Supreme King Gate Zero from his Deck to his hand. He then activated Terraforming to add Oracle of Zefra to his hand, which was activated to add Zefraath. It was activated, sending Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing to the Extra Deck. He then Normal Summoned Zefaraxi and the 2 monsters were used to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. Its effect sent Satellarknight Zefrathuban from the Deck to the Extra Deck. Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect destroyed the Field Spell and added Satellarknight Zefrathuban to his hand. He then Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing from the Extra Deck and Satellarknight Zefrathuban from the hand. Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing turned Satellarknight Zefrathuban into a Tuner and the 2 monsters were used to Synchro Summon Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon. Its effect Special Summoned Supreme King Gate Zero from the Pendulum Zone. The two monsters were used to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon and it and Heavymetalfoes Electrumite were used to Link Summon Decode Talker. Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon came to the field. He Set 3 cards to the back row and passed.

Kuo Special Summoned Kumongous, the Sticky String Kaiju by Tributing Aguirre Osuna’s Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon. Kuo then Special Summoned Eater of Millions by banishing 5 cards from his Extra Deck face-down. Eater of Millions attacked into Decode Talker and its effect banished the Link Monster face-down. In Main Phase 2, Kuo tried to activate Trickstar Light Stage, but Aguirre Osuna Chained Typhoon to destroy it. He Set 2 cards and passed.

Aguirre Osuna used Kumongous, the Sticky String Kaiju to attack Eater of Millions. Eater of Millions’s effect activated but Aguirre Osuna Chained Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing to negate the effect and destroy Eater of Millions. Aguirre Osuna then activated Zefra Providence to add Oracle of Zefra from his Deck to his hand. It was activated to add Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi and it was Normal Summoned to add Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Extra Deck to his hand. Zefraath’s Pendulum Effect sent Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing from the Deck to the Extra Deck. He then Pendulum Summoned Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing to turn Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi into a Tuner and the 2 monsters were used to Synchro Summon Stardust Charge Warrior! He used Oracle of Zefra’s effect to put Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring on top of his Deck, then the Synchro Monster’s effect let him draw it! In the End Phase, Kuo activated Scapegoat, but Aguirre Osuna negated it with Zefra Divine Strike.

Kuo drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring for turn. Kuo tried to go into the Battle Phase, but Kuo activated Zefra War to destroy one of his Zefra cards and Kuo’s Set Evenly Matched. Kuo Normal Summoned Trickstar Lycoris and passed.

Aguirre Osuna Attacked with Stardust Charge Warrior and Kumongous, the Sticky String Kaiju attacked directly. He Normal Summoned Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and he wanted to Link Summon Decode Talker, but it was already in the Graveyard! He instead used Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and Stardust Charge Warrior to Link Summon Underclock Taker. He then Pendulum Summoned Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing then used Underclock Taker, Kumongous, the Sticky String Kaiju and Zefraxi to Link Summon Borreload Dragon.

Kuo activated Pot of Desires, but Aguirre Osuna negated it with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He Set his own Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and passed.

Aguirre Osuna Pendulum Summoned Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing and Satellarknight Zefrathuban. He used them to Synchro Summon Yazi, Evil of the Yang Zing! He attacked with Borreload Dragon to take control of Kuo’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring then attacked with Yazi.

Kuo Set Scapegoat and passed. Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring was sent to the Graveyard.

Aguirre Osuna attacked but was met with Scapegoat. He attacked one Sheep Token and took control of another one with Borreload Dragon.

Kuo drew Droll & Lock Bird. He Set it and passed. The Sheep Token disappeared from the field.

Aguirre Osuna activated Zefra Providence, adding Stellarknight Zefraxciton from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned it, destroying Zefraath and Droll & Lock Bird (using his in-Graveyard Zefra Providence to prevent his card from being destroyed). Zefraath’s effect sent Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing from the Deck to the Extra Deck. He Pendulum Summoned Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing, and its effect turned Stellarknight Zefraxciton into a Tuner. All of the monsters attacked to force this Match into a third and decisive Duel.

Duel 3

Kuo elected to go first. He started with a hand of Trickstar Reincarnation, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Pot of Desires, Droll & Lock Bird, and Trickstar Lycoris. He started with Pot of Desires, banishing 10 cards to draw Eater of Millions and Scapegoat. He Set Trickstar Reincarnation and Scapegoat and passed.

Aguirre Osuna activated Zefra Providence. He added Oracle of Zefra to his hand. Kuo activated Trickstar Reincarnation, Aguirre Osuna Chained Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, then Kuo Chained Droll & Lock Bird. Aguirre Osuna activated Zefraath. He used the effect, but Kuo Chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy it. In the End Phase, Kuo activated Scapegoat.

Kuo drew Scapegoat. He went into the tank as he performed some mental math. When he was done, he used 2 Sheep Tokens to Link Summon Missus Radiant. He used another Sheep Token to Link Summon Link Spider then the 4^th Token was used for a second Link Spider. He then banished the remaining 12 cards from his Extra Deck to Special Summon Eater of Millions from his hand!

Aguirre Osuna activated Effect Veiler to stop him from losing this turn! Kuo then Normal Summoned Trickstar Lycoris. He attacked with all of the monsters that had Attack Points. Aguirre Osuna has only 1500 LP left!

Aguirre Osuna drew and took another 200 points of damage, leaving him at 1300 LP! He activated Oracle of Zefra, adding Zefraath to his hand and taking another 200 points of damage, leaving him at 1100 LP! He used the effect to send a Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Deck to the Extra Deck. Foolish Burial was used next to send a Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm to the Graveyard. Its effect let it Special Summon itself. He then Normal Summoned Stellarknight Zefraxciton. The two monsters were used to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite whose effect sent Stellarknight Zefraxciton to the Extra Deck. Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect destroyed Oracle of Zefra and Aguirre Osuna drew a card. He dropped down to 900 LP! He Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing from the Extra Deck, and Stellarknight Zefraxciton from his hand. He added Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing to his hand, dropping to 700 LP. He used Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing and Stellarknight Zefraxciton to Synchro Summon Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon. He used the effect to Special Summon the Supreme King Gate Zero in his Pendulum Zone. The two monsters were used to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon. In the Battle Phase, he used Heavymetalfoes Electrumite to attack, but Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon’s effect negated the attack, then Special Summoned the detached Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon. The Synchro Monster attacked and destroyed Eater of Millions. Absolute attacked into Trickstar Lycoris. In Main Phase 2, he used both Odd-Eyes monsters and Heavymetalfoes Electrumite to Link Summon Borreload Dragon. Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon came to the field because of Absolute Dragon’s effect. He Set one card to the back row and passed.

Kuo drew Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. He used Trickstar Reincarnation from the Graveyard, banishing it to Special Summon Trickstar Lycoris.

Kuo drew and took another 200 points of damage, dropping him down to 500 LP. He turned Vortex into Attack Position. Borreload Dragon attacked into Missus Radiant (but couldn’t take control of it since there were no open zones to which Borreload Dragon was pointing). Vortex Dragon then attacked Trickstar Lycoris.

Kuo drew Terraforming, but Aguirre Osuna used Vortex to negate it. Kuo Chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, but Aguirre Osuna Chained Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing to negate it. Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing’s effect added Zefra Providence from his Deck to his hand.

Aguirre Osuna activated Zefra Providence, adding Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi from his Deck to his hand. He used the effect to add Satellarknight Zefrathuban from his Extra Deck to his hand. Oracle of Zefra was activated to add Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing to his hand, then Zefraath sent Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Deck to his Extra Deck. He Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from the Extra Deck and Stellarknight Zefraxciton from the hand. All of the monsters in Attack Position attacked and it was enough to end the Match!
