Round 5 Feature Match: Jeremiah Cole vs. Frank Nicola
Both of our Round 5 Feature Match Duelists are undefeated! Jerimiah Cole is from Athena, Tennessee and has with him a 60-card Deck that includes World Chalice and Trickstars! Frank Nicola is from Charleston, South Carolina and he has a True Draco Deck. Who will continue on with an undefeated record? Let’s find out! It’s time to Duel!
Duel 1
Cole won the roll and elected to go first. He started with a hand of World Chalice Guardragon, Trickstar Light Stage, World Legacy – “World Chalice”, Mystic Shine Ball and World Legacy’s Heart. He started with Trickstar Light Stage to add Trickstar Lilybell. Her effect activated to Special Summon herself. He Normal Summoned Mystic Shine Ball and sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Imduk, the World Chalice Dragon. He then used the additional Normal Summon to Tribute Lilybell to Tribute Summon World Legacy – “World Chalice”. He used both monsters to Link Summon Auram, the World Chalice Blademaster. He activated Imduk’s effect to Summon World Chalice Guardragon from his hand and used the effect of World Legacy – “World Chalice” to Special Summon Beckoned of the World Chalice and Lee the World Chalice Fairy from the Deck. Lee’s effect activated to add another Beckoned. He then used Lee and Guardragon to Link Summon Ib the World Chalice Priestess. He then activated World Legacy’s Heart to add World Legacy – “World Chalice” and Lee back to his hand. He then used Beckoned to go into another Imduk, then used Imduk and Auram to Link Summon Ningirsu the World Chalice Warrior. He used all the effects to Special Summon Lee the World Chalice Fairy and Beckoned, and also draw 2 cards. He then sent Ningirsu and Lee to the Graveyard to Link Summon Firewall Dragon! He then used Beckoned to Link Summon Link Spider, then used Firewall’s effect to Special Summon Gem-Knight Garnett. He then banished Guardragon to Special Summon Beckoned back to the field. He then used both Normal Monsters to Xyz Summon Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir in Defense Position. He Set Cosmic Cyclone and passed.
Nicola drew for turn. He activated Dragonic Diagram. He activated the effect but Cole Chained Cosmic Cyclone to banish Dragonic Diagram, preventing Nicola from destroying anything. Nicola followed-up with a second Dragonic Diagram. He used the effect, destroying Solemn Judgment from his hand to add True Draco Apocalypse. He Set 2 to the back and Set a monster and in the End Phase, Cole activated Firewall’s effect to return Auram from his own Graveyard and Nicola’s Set Monster back to their hands.
Cole drew another Lee the World Chalice Fairy. He activated the in-Graveyard Lee the World Chalice Fairy effect to send Link Spider to the Graveyard to add Lee the World Chalice Fairy back to the hand. Because Link Spider left the field, Firewall Dragon’s effect let Cole Special Summon Lee the World Chalice Fairy. Cole then used Trickstar Light Stage to freeze a face-down which was Chained: True Draco Apocalypse. Both traps were Tributed (the other one was The Monarchs Erupt) to Tribute Summon Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King which was switched to Defense Position because of Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir’s effect. Apocalypse’s effect activated in the Graveyard to destroy Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir then Firewall Dragon Summoned Lee the World Chalice Fairy from hand, then Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King’s effect tried to destroy Firewall but Ib the World Chalice Priestess’s effect allowed Cole to send Ib to the Graveyard instead. Ib the World Chalice Priestess’s effect Special Summoned World Legacy – “World Chalice” from hand, then World Legacy – “World Chalice” and Lee the World Chalice Fairy were used to Link Summon Auram the World Chalice Blademaster. Auram the World Chalice Blademaster’s effect activated, and Lee the World Chalice Fairy was Tributed to Special Summon Ningirsu the World Chalice Warrior from the Graveyard. Ningirsu’s effect was activated, sending Trickstar Light Stage and Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King to the Graveyard. He then attacked with all 3 monsters, dropping Nicola down to 700 LP.
Nicola drew to 2 in hand. He activated Dragonic Diagram, destroying Amano-Iwato from his hand to add Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior from his Deck to his hand. He then activated The Monarchs Stormforth and Tributed Ningirsu to Tribute Summon Ignis Heat. Iginis Heat attacked into Auram the World Chalice Blademaster and Cole used the in-Graveyard World Legacy’s Heart to prevent its destruction.
Cole drew Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju and Tributed his opponent’s Ignis Heat, the True Dracowarrior to clear it, allowing him to attack for game!
Duel 2
Nicola elected to go first. He started with Dragonic Diagram, then Set a card, and Dragonic Diagram was used to destroy True Draco Heritage to add Majesty Maiden, the True Dracocaster from Deck to hand. Next, True Draco Heritage was activated and drew a card, and Nicola then Set one to the back row and Tributed it (Disciples of the True Dracophoenix) to Tribute Summon Majesty Maiden, the True Dracocaster. He Set 2 more to the back and passed.
Cole drew World Legacy – “World Chalice” to add to his hand of double The Agent of Creation – Venus, Herald of the Orange Light, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and one other card. He Normal Summoned The Agent of Creation – Venus. He activated its effect, paying 500 Life Points. Nicola Chained Majesty Maiden the True Dracocaster but Cole chained Herald of Orange Light to negate and destroy it! The Chain resolved and Mystic Shine Ball was Summoned, followed by two more. One Shine Ball was sent to the Graveyard for a Link Spider, and another one was sent for an Imduk, the World Chalice Dragon. Then the additional Normal Summon was used to Summon World Legacy – “World Chalice”, then all of the monsters were used to Link Summon Saryuja Skull Dread! He activated all of the effects, then in a new chain, Lee the World Chalice Fairy added Beckoned of the World Chalice from Deck to hand. Cole then activated Saryuja Skull Dread to Special Summon Beckoned of the World Chalice, then used Lee the World Chalice Fairy and World Chalice Guardragon for Ib the World Chalice Priestess. He activated Brilliant Fusion next, and Nicola conceded the Duel!
