We’re in the last round for today, and only the top 32 will make it to Day 2. Aaron Arturo Aguirre Osuna is from Tijuana, Mexico and has a 6-1 record with a Zefra Deck! His opponent is Esteban Vences Brito from Santa Ana, California. Which of these players will keep the momentum up?  Let’s find out! It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Aguirre Osuno won the roll and elected to go first. He started with Dragon Shrine to send Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm to the Graveyard, which was Special Summoned. Supreme King Gate Zero was added to his hand on its Summon. He then activated Oracle of Zefra to add Zefraath to his hand. Zefraath was placed in the Pendulum Zone and sent Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Deck to his Extra Deck. He then Normal Summoned Stellarknight Zefraxciton and used both monsters to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. He sent Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing to the Extra Deck with Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect then used Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect to destroy the Field Spell to add Zefraxi back to his hand. He then activated Supreme King Gate Zero and Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing, Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing, and Zefaxciton. He used Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing to add Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing from his Deck to his hand. He then Synchro Summoned Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon. Then Supreme King Gate Zero was Special Summoned from the Pendulum Zone and the two monsters were used to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon. Then, it and Heavymetalfoes Electrumite were used to Link Summon Decode Talker, and Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon came to the field. He Set 2 cards to the back row (Dragon Shrine and Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing) and passed.

Vences Brito activated Foolish Burial but Aguirre Osuno Chained Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it. He then activated Chronograph Sorcerer in the Pendulum Zone and used the effect to Special Summon Timegazer Magician. He then activated Astrograph Sorcerer, but Aguirre Osuno Chained Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing to negate it and destroy Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing. Zefraniu’s effect added Zefra Providence from his Deck to his hand. Vences Brito Normal Summoned Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm and Aguirre Osuno used Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon, sending back a Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm to his Main Deck to negate Vences Brito’s Darkwurm effect. Vences Brito then placed Black Fang Magician in one Pendulum Zone and Supreme King Gate Zero in the other Pendulum Zone and Pendulum Summoned Chronograph Sorcerer from the Extra Deck. He then used Black Fang Magician’s effect to reduce Decode Talker’s ATK, then used Chronograph Sorcerer to attack the weakened Decode Talker. In Main Phase 2, Vences Brito used Timegazer Magician and Chronograph Sorcerer to Special Summon Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom. He copied the effect of Heavymetalfoes Electrumite then used the copied effect to destroy Supreme King Gate Zero and add back Chronograph Sorcerer.

Aguirre Osuno drew Oracle of Zefra for turn. He activated it and added Ritual Beast Tamer Zefrawendi to hand. He activated Providence to add Satellarknight Zefrathuban to his hand. Aguirre Osuno then Normal Summoned Zefrawendi to add Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing back to hand. He then used Zefraath to send another Zefraniu from the Deck to the Extra Deck. He then placed Satellarknight Zefrathuban in the other Pendulum Zone and Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing. Its effect added Zefra Divine Strike to his hand. He used both Zefraniu to Xyz Summon Constellar Ptolemy M7. He attacked with all of his monsters. He Set Divine Strike and passed.

Vences Brito Normal Summoned Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm and tried to use the effect; but Aguirre Osuno’s Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon shut it down again. Vences Brito conceded the Duel and proceeded to start Side Decking for the next Duel.

Duel 2

Vences Brito elected to go first in Duel 2. He started with Pot of Desires, banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck to draw 2 more. He then placed Oafdragon Magician and Wisdom-Eye Magician in the Pendulum Zones and used Wisdom-Eye Magician to destroy itself and put Black Fang Magician in its place. He then Pendulum Summoned Wisdom-Eye Magician from the Extra Deck along with Stargazer Magician, Oafdragon Magician, Purple Poison Magician and Supreme King Gate Zero from his hand! He used Oafdragon Magician and Wisdom-Eye Magician to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. Its effect sent Astrograph Sorcerer from the Deck to the Extra Deck. Then, Vences Brito used Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect, destroying Oafdragon Magician and adding Astrograph Sorcerer back to his hand. Astrograph Sorcerer was Special Summoned adding Oafdragon Magician from his Deck to his hand. He sent Stargazer Magician and Purple Poison Magician to the Graveyard to Link Summon another Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. He used that effect to send Chronograph Sorcerer from the Deck to the Extra Deck (only the draw effect is “once per turn”). He used Sorcerer and Supreme King Gate Zero to Xyz Summon Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon then used a Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon to Link Summon Zefra Metaltron. Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon brought Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon to the field. He then used the other Heavymetalfoes Electrumite effect, destroying Black Fang Magician to add back Astrograph Sorcerer. Then, he used Dragon Shrine to send Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm to the Graveyard. Aguirre Osuno then activated Chronograph Sorcerer and used the effect to have it destroy itself to Special Summon Timegazer Magician. He used Timegazer Magician and Astrograph Sorcerer to Special Summon Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom. He copied the effect of Heavymetalfoes Electrumite, then used his copied effect to destroy a Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and add back Oafdragon Magician to his hand. Chronograph Sorcerer was then Special Summoned and that Special Summoned Oafdragon Magician. The 2 Spellcasters were used to Xyz Summon Norito the Moral Leader!

Aguirre Osuno activated Oracle of Zefra, using its effect to add Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing to his hand. He then activated Zefraath as a scale but Vences Brito used Norito the Moral Leader to negate it. Aguirre Osuno then placed Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing and Zefraxi, Treasure of the Yang Zing in the Pendulum Zones. He then activated Zefra War from his hand to destroy one of his cards and his opponent’s Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon. Vences Brito allowed that to happen so he could use Zefra Metaltron’s effect to add the Astrograph Sorcerer in his Extra Deck back to his hand. Aguirre Osuno followed-up with Foolish Burial, sending Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm to the Graveyard. It came out of the Graveyard and its effect added Supreme King Gate Zero from the Deck to the hand. He then Normal Summoned Satellarknight Zefrathuban, using its effect to destroy Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing in his Pendulum Zone and Vences Brito’s Zefra Metaltron. Aguirre Osuno then Link Summoned Heavymetalfoes Electrumite and used the effect to send Zefraath to the Extra Deck. He drew Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect. He activated Zefraath as a Pendulum Scale and sent Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing to the Extra Deck. He then activated Supreme King Gate Zero and Pendulum Summoned Zefraniu and Satellarknight Zefrathuban from the Extra Deck along with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit from his hand. Zefraniu’s effect added Nine Pillars of the Yang Zing to his hand. He then used Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit and Zefrathuban to Synchro Summon Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon. The Dragon’s effect Special Summoned Supreme King Gate Zero from the Pendulum Zone, then the two monsters Xyz Summoned Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon, then it and Heavymetalfoes Electrumite were used to Link Summon Decode Talker with Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon coming to the field when Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon left the field. Decode Talker attacked into Vences Brito’s Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom and Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon attacked directly.

Vences Brito Special Summoned Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm from his Graveyard and he used the effect to add Supreme King Gate Zero from his Deck to his hand. But there was nothing else that could be done after that, so he extended the handshake.
