Jacob Moore, who ended Swiss with a 9-2 record, is running 60-card Dinos / Zombies / Lightsworn. He’s up against the player who ended Swiss as the number 1 seed, Omar Bsiso. Bsiso is running Pendulum Magicians. Only one of these Duelists can advance to the Top 8. It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Bsiso won the roll and elected to go first. He started with Chronograph Sorcerer in the Pendulum Zone, followed by Stargazer Magician. He then Pendulum Summoned Mythical Beast Jackal King, then Bsiso attempted to activate the effect of Chronograph Sorcerer in the Pendulum Zone, but Moore negated it with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He Set one card to the back row and passed.

Moore drew Predaplant Darlingtonia Cobra to add to his hand of 2 Charge of the Light Brigade, Soul Charge, and Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio. He started with Charge of the Light Brigade, hitting Overtex Qoatlus, Gem-Knight Garnet, and Shiranui Solitaire. He added Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn from Deck to hand. Bsiso activated Droll & Lock Bird to prevent further searching or drawing this turn. He then Normal Summoned Raiden and used his effect to send Double Evolution Pill and Monster Reborn from the Deck to the Graveyard (ouch). He then activated Soul Charge targeting Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Gem-Knight Garnet and Shiranui Solitaire. Moore dropped to 5000 LP. He then used Raiden and Garnet to Xyz Summon Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn. Moore attempted to use Shiranui Solitaire’s effect but Bsiso’s Mythical Beast Jackal King negated the effect.

Bsiso drew for turn and activated Duelist Alliance, adding Star Pendulumgraph. He then activated Chronograph Sorcerer’s effect to destroy itself to Special Summon Timegazer Magician from the Deck. He used the Mythical Beast Jackal King and the Timegazer Magician to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite! Its effect put Astrograph Sorcerer in the Extra Deck and added Wisdom-Eye Magician from Deck to hand for the effect of Star Pendulumgraph. He then placed Wisdom-Eye Magician in the Pendulum Zone and used its effect to destroy itself to put Black Fang Magician from the Deck to the Pendulum Zone. Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect drew him a card. He then used Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect to destroy Stargazer Magician and add back Astrograph Sorcerer from the Extra Deck. Its effect was activated to Special Summon itself and add Wisdom-Eye Magician and then he used it to put Oafdragon Magician in the Pendulum Zone. He used Oafdragon to put Wisdom-Eye Magician back in his hand. He then Pendulum Summoned Wisdom-Eye Magician and Mythical Beast Jackal King from the Extra Deck and a Wisdom-Eye from his hand. He then put the 2 Wisdom-Eye Magicians together to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller and used the effect to prevent Graveyard effects this turn. Next, he used Time Pendulumgraph to destroy Oafdragon Magician and Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn. He then used Mythical Beast Jackal King and an Astrograph Sorcerer to Special Summon Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom. He then used its effect to copy Heavymetalfoes Electrumite’s effect, then used the copied effect to destroy Black Fang Magician and add Astrograph, which was then Special Summoned. Chronograph Sorcerer was added to hand. Mythical Beast Master Cerberus was then activated and its effect added Mythical Beast Jackal King to his hand. Then, Chronograph Sorcerer was Special Summoned, and then its effect Special Summoned Mythical Beast Jackal King and Moore conceded.

Duel 2

Moore elected to go first. He started with a hand of Charge of the Light Brigade, Overtex Qoatlus, Left Arm Offering, Droll & Lock Bird, and Jurrac Aeolo. He started with Charge, sending Heroic Challenger – Thousand Blades, Predaplant Ophrys Scorpio, and Performage Hat Tricker to the Graveyard to add Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn to hand. He then asked how many cards are in Bsiso’s Deck, then Normal Summoned Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn. He activated Left Arm Offering, banishing his hand to add That Grass Looks Greener from Deck to hand. He then activated it, sending the top 15 cards of his Deck to the Graveyard.

Moore activated Overtex Qoatlus’s effect from the Graveyard to add Double Evolution Pill from Deck to hand. He then used Mezuki’s effect to Special Summon Shiranui Solitaire from the Graveyard, then used that effect to Special Summon Uni-Zombie from the Deck. Performage Damage Juggler was banished from the Graveyard to add Performage Trick Clown from Deck to hand. He then used Uni-Zombie’s effect, discarding Performage Trick Clown to increase Uni-Zombie’s Level by 1. Performage Trick Clown was Special Summoned, then Heroic Challenger – Thousand Blades came out of the Graveyard right after. Double Evolution Pill was activated, banishing Soul-Eating Oviraptor and Lonefire Blossom to Special Summon Overtex Qoatlus ignoring Special Summoning conditions. Next, he used Uni-Zombie and Heroic Challenger – Thousand Blades to Xyz Summon Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn. He used her effect to send Magical Spring, Double Evolution Pill, and Glow-Up Bulb to the Graveyard. He then sent with Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn, Raiden, Hand of the Lightsworn and Performage Trick Clown to the Graveyard, to Link Summon Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion! Its effect sent Fairy Tail – Snow to the Graveyard and the other effect sent the top 3 cards to the Graveyard: Left Arm Offering, Soul-Eating Oviraptor, and Ultimate Conductor Tyranno. He activated Glow-Up Bulb, sending Brilliant Fusion to the Graveyard to Special Summon the Plant. He then sent Glow-Up Bulb to the Graveyard to Link Summon Linkuriboh! Then, he activated Fairy Tail – Snow, banishing 7 cards from the Graveyard to Special Summon it. Shiranui Solitaire’s effect Special Summoned Shiranui Spiritmaster. He put Fairy Tail – Snow and Shiranui Spiritmaster on top of each other to Xyz Summon Tornado Dragon in Defense Position.

Bsiso finally drew for turn. He activated Mythical Beast Master Cerberus. He used the effect, adding Mythical Beast Jackal King to Bsiso’s hand. He then activated Mythical Beast Jackal King, and tried to use the effect. But Moore used Tornado Dragon’s effect to destroy Mythical Beast Jackal King. He then activated Black Fang Magician and Wisdom-Eye Magician in the Pendulum Zones, but Moore Chained Overtex Qoatlus’s effect, destroying itself to negate Wisdom-Eye Magician and destroy it. After the Chain resolved, Bsiso activated Astrograph Sorcerer to Special Summon itself and add Wisdom-Eye Magician to the hand. He put it in the Pendulum Zone and used the effect to put Oafdragon Magician from the Deck into the Pendulum Zone. He then Normal Summoned Purple Poison Magician. He then sent Purple Poison Magician and Astrograph Sorcerer to the Extra Deck to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. He used the effect to send Harmonizing Magician to the Extra Deck. Oaf added back Harmonizing Magician. He then used Heavymetalfoes Electrumite to destroy Black Fang Magician, adding Astrograph Sorcerer from the Extra Deck to the hand. Then Astrograph Sorcerer was Special Summoned and added Wisdom-Eye Magician from Deck to hand, followed by a draw for Heavymetalfoes Electrumite. Bsiso activated Wisdom-Eye Magician in the vacant Pendulum Zone. He destroyed it to put Black Fang Magician in its place. He then Pendulum Summoned Mythical Beast Jackal King and Black Fang Magician from the Extra Deck and a Harmonizing Magician from the hand. He used Harmonizing Magician to Special Summon Purple Poison Magician from the Deck. Moore activated Fairy Tail – Snow in the Graveyard, Special Summoning it, and its effect was used to turn Harmonizing Magician face-down. He then overlaid Purple Poison Magician and Black Fang Magician to Xyz Summon Abyss Dweller, and its effect was activated to prevent Graveyard effects this turn. He then used Black Fang Magician’s Pendulum effect to halve Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion’s ATK. Black Fang Magician’s Extra Deck effect Special Summoned another Black Fang Magician from the Graveyard. Next, Black Fang Magician  and Harmonizing Magician were sent to the Extra Deck to Special Summon Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom. Bsiso then activated Stargazer Magician as a Pendulum Spell to give Mythical Beast Jackal King Spell Counters. Starving Venom’s effect then copied Ultimate Conductor Tyranno’s effect, then Bsiso went into the Battle Phase, and Starving Venom attacked Tornado Dragon. Linkuriboh tried to negate the attack, but Mythical Beast Jackal King negated it. A replay occurred and Starving Venom attacked Fairy Tail – Snow instead. Because Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom could attack everything thanks to Ultimate Conductor Tyranno’s effect, and because Moore couldn’t defend himself with Fairy Tail – Snow thanks to Abyss Dweller, Moore extended the handshake!
