YCS Chicago: Top 16 Pairings and Decks!

February 3rd, 2019

The top 16 of YCS Chicago is underway! Check out who’s Dueling in the Top 16 and take a look at which Decks they’re using!

Table 1: Aaron Furman (Thunder Dragon) vs. Kobe Short (Thunder Dragon Danger!)
Table 2: Calvin Tahan (ABC) vs. Clifton Land (Subterror)
Table 3: Brandon Sevitz (Danger!) vs. Denis Nadas (Thunder Dragon Danger!)
Table 4: Alex Mondlak (Cyber Dragon) vs. Raul Torres Cordero (Sky Striker)
Table 5: Christopher Haberstroh (Sky Striker) vs. Stefan Molgat (Crusadia Guardragon)
Table 6: Ed Acepcion (Orcust Danger!) vs. Shovon Roy (Thunder Dragon Danger!)
Table 7: Johnathan Gochenour (Prank-Kids) vs. Jonas Koschel (Thunder Dragon Danger!)
Table 8: Raphael Neven (Lunalight) vs. Arnold Nadaban (Thunder Dragon Danger!)

In a surprising turn of events, the 10 Sky Striker Decks that were in the Top 32 are down to just 2 Sky Striker Decks in the Top 16! Thunder Dragon variants appear to be the dominating force in the Top 16, with a total of 6 Duelists piloting a Thunder Dragon variant in the Top 16. Danger! cards are mixed into most of those Thunder Dragon Decks, but also appear alongside Orcust cards in Acepcion’s Deck. One Duelist – Brandon Sevitz – is using a more dedicated Danger! Deck that features Danger! Response Team. Subterror, Crusadia Guardragon, ABC, Cyber Dragon, Prank-Kids, and Lunalight Decks are still around as 1-of Decks in the Top 16, so all of them still have a shot of winning the tournament.

Follow the coverage to see which Decks advance to the Top 8 of YCS Chicago!
