And it all comes down to this! After 14 Rounds, we’re down to the final two Duelists! Jesse Kotton from Toronto, Ontario has Danger! Thunder Dragon and is back in the finals hoping to finally secure a YCS Championship. His opponent is a fellow Team GameNation teammate Dominic Couch from Aurora, Illinois running Orcust Phantom Knight. Who will walk away with the title of YCS Champion?  It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Kotton won the roll and elected to go first. He started with a hand of Sekka’s Light, Danger!? Jackelope?, Danger!? Tsuchinoko? and 2 copies of White Dragon Wyverbuster. He activated Sekka’s Light, drawing Thunder Dragondark and Black Dragon Collapserpent. Kotton activated Danger!? Tsuchinoko? and White Dragon Wyverbuster was discarded. He drew a Thunder Dragon which was immediately discarded to add 2 more copies to his hand. Kotton then activated Danger!? Jackelope? and the second White Dragon Wyverbuster was discarded. He now had 2 Danger! monsters on the field. He Normal Summoned Crusadia Reclusia. He sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Crusadia Magius. The 2 Danger Monsters were used to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix. Crusadia Magius’s effect was negated by Couch’s Infinite Impermanence. He sent the two Link Monsters to Link Summon LANphorhynchus. He then banished White Dragon Wyverbuster from his Graveyard to Special Summon Black Dragon Collapserpent from his hand. He sent Black Dragon Collapserpent to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Elpy. He activated Black Dragon Collapserpent’s effect to add White Dragon Wyverbuster from his Deck to his hand. Kotton then banished Black Dragon Collapserpent to Special Summon White Dragon Wyverbuster form his hand then sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Pisty. He used White Dragon Wyverbusters effect to add Black Dragon Collapserpent from his Deck to his hand. Kotton then used Guardragon Elpy’s effect to Special Summon Omni Dragon Brotaur from his Deck. Omni Dragon Brotaur’s effect let him discard Thunder Dragondark to add Chaos Dragon Levianeer from his Deck to his hand and the 3000 ATK Dragon was Special Summoned banishing 3 Darks including a Thunder Dragondark. He used Thunder Dragondark’s effect to add Thunder Dragonduo from his Deck to his hand. Omni Dragon Brotaur and LANphorhynchus were used to Link Summon Triple Burst Dragon he used it and Omni Dragon Brotaur to Link Summon Guardragon Argapain. Then Kotton used Agarpain’s effect to Special Summon Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss! He then sent all 3 Link Monsters and Chaos Dragon Levianeer to the Graveyard to Link Summon Saryuja Skull Dread! Saryuja Skull Dread’s effect let Kotton draw 4 cards and send 3 back to the Deck. He then used Saryuja Skull Dread’s effect to Special Summon Batteryman Solar from his hand. At this point, Couch saw enough and conceded the Duel. Kotton was one win away from a YCS Championship!

Duel 2

Couch elected to go first. He activated Trickstar Light Stage to add Trickstar Candina which was Normal Summoned and its effect added another Trickstar Light Stage which was activated to add Trickstar Corobane from his Deck to his hand. It was Special Summoned and the 2 monsters were used to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix which was used to Link Summon Knightmare Mermaid. Its effect was activated, discarding Orcust Harp Horror and Kotton chained PSY-Framegear Gamma to try and negate it but Couch chained Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate PSY-Framegear Gamma’s effect. Now Couch had to play around the PSY-Framegear Gamma he know was in Kotton’s hand. The Chain resolved and Orcust Knightmare hit the field. Couch banished Orcust Harp Horror from the Graveyard to Special Summon Orcust Cymbal Skeleton from his Deck. Orcust Knightmare and Knightmare Mermaid were used to Link Summon Orcust Harp Horror, then it and another monster were used to Link Summon The Phantom Knights of Rusty Bardiche, then Orcust Cymbal Skeleton’s effect allowed Couch to Special Summon Galatea from the Graveyard followed by an Xyz Summoned Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star using Galatea as an Xyz Material. In the next Chain, Couch activated Dingirsu followed by Rusty Bardiche to play around Kotton’s PSY-Framegear Gamma. In a new chain after that, Bardiche was activated to send a Phantom Knight to the Graveyard and Set a Phantom Knight Spell/Trap and that prompted Kotton to Chain PSY-Framegear Gamma to negate the effect. Couch then activated Orcust Knightmare, banishing it to send World Legacy – “World Wand” from the Deck to the Graveyard. World Legacy – “World Wand” was banished to Special Summon Orcust Harp Horror from banished. It and Dingirsu were used to Link Summon Galatea which shuffled World Legacy – “World Wand” back into the Deck and Set Orcust Crescendo to his backrow. Couch then activated Terraforming to add Orcustrated Babel. He activated it, allowing him to use the Orcust effects as Quick Effects. Set another card and passed.

Kotton drew Danger!? Jackelope?. He activated Sekka’s Light but Couch negated it with Orcust Crescendo. He Normal Summoned Batteryman Solar and Couch activated Infinite Impermanence to negate that effect. Kotton then activated Danger!? Jackelope? but it was discarded. Kotton activated Danger!? Jackelope?’s Graveyard effect, Special Summoning Danger!? Tsuchinoko? from the Deck. He activated another Danger!? Jackelope? from his hand holding only White Dragon Wyverbuster. White Dragon Wyverbuster was discarded and Danger!? Jackelope? was Summoned, but there was nothing else Kotton could do, he scooped his cards and we’re going to a final Duel! The winner of this next Duel will be the champion of YCS Knoxville!

Duel 3

Kotton elected to go second. Kotton started with a hand of Thunder Dragon, Thunder Dragondark, Danger!? Jackelope?, Artifact Lancea and Chaos Dragon Levianeer. Couch started with Trickstar Light Stage for Trickstar Candina whose effect added Trickstar Corobane to Couch’s hand. Corobane was Special Summoned and both monsters were used to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix which turned into Knightmare Mermaid. Its effect discarded Orcust Harp Horror and Orcust Knightmare came out of the Deck. Kotton dropped his Artifact Lancea preventing Couch from banishing cards for the rest of the turn. Couch activated Terraforming and added Orcustrated Babel to his hand and played it over Trickstar Light Stage. Orcust Knightmare and Knightmare Mermaid were used to Link Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton. Then Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star was Xyz Summoned using Galatea as the material. In the End Phase, Kotton activated the Thunder Dragondark in his hand to add another copy to his hand.

Kotton used Thunder Dragon’s effect to add 2 copies from his Deck to his hand. Next, he Special Summoned Chaos Dragon Levianeer, banishing 2 Thunder Dragons and Thunder Dragondark. He used Thunder Dragondark’s effect to add Thunder Dragonhawk from his Deck to his hand. Hawk’s effect let Kotton Special Summon the banished Thunder Dragondark. He then banished Thunder Dragonhawk to Special Summon Black Dragon Collapserpent. He activated Danger!? Jackelope?’s effect discarding Thunder Dragon, Special Summoning the cryptid and drawing a card. He then activated Sekka’s Light, drawing 2 more cards. All 4 monsters were used to Link Summon Saryuja Skull Dread. He activated Saryuja Skull Dread as Chain Link 1 and Black Dragon Collapserpent as Chain Link 2, adding White Dragon Wyverbuster from his Deck to his hand, then drawing 4 cards and sending 3 back to his Deck. He activated Saryuja Skull Dread’s effect to Special Summon Eclipse Wyvern from his hand. Kotton sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Elpy. Eclipse Wyvern’s effect let Kotton banish Chaos Dragon Levianeer from his Deck. Elpy’s effect let Kotton Special Summon Omni Dragon Brotaur from his Deck. Omni Dragon Brotaur was used to Link Summon Guardragon Pisty whose effect brought Omni Dragon Brotaur back to the field. He then sent Omni Dragon Brotaur to the Graveyard with Saryuja Skull Dread to Special Summon Guardragon Agarpain. He used Agarpain’s effect to Special Summon Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss from the Extra Deck. He Special Summoned another Chaos Dragon Levianeer banishing 2 lights and a dark including an Eclipse Wyvern. A large chain occurred including Eclipse Wyvern, Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss, Chaos Dragon Levianeer, and a Quick Effect Orcust Knightmare which was Special Summoned to Couch’s field. After the chain, Kotton sent all of his Link Monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon another Saryuja Skull Dread. He used its effect to draw 4 and send 3 back. Kotton then Normal Summoned Batteryman Solar. He then banished Thunder Dragonroar to Special Summon White Dragon Wyverbuster. Roar’s effect Special Summoned Thunder Dragondark then Batteryman Solar’s effect Special Summoned made a Token. Kotton Tributed the Thunder Dragondark to Special Summon Thunder Dragon Colossus.  The Batteryman Token, Batteryman Solar and White Dragon Wyverbuster were used to Link Summon Knightmare Unicorn whose effect discarded Danger!? Jackelope? and spun back Orcust Knightmare and that was it! Couch extended the handshake!
