Round 5 Feature Match: Vincent Polsinelli vs. Faisal Khan
Vincent Polsinelli from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is Dueling against YCS Champion Faisal Khan from Chicago, Illinois in this Round 5 Feature Match! Polsinelli is using a Zefra Pendulum Deck featuring new cards from Structure Deck: Order of the Spellcasters, including Servant of Endymion and Endymion, the Mighty Master of Magic. Khan is using a Danger! Thunder Dragon Deck. Both Duelists are currently 4-0 in the tournament using explosive Decks that can build an incredible field on the first turn, but only one of these Duelists can advance undefeated. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Khan started off Duel 1 by discarding Thunder Dragon to add 2 more copies of Thunder Dragon from his Deck to his hand.
He activated Sekka’s Light to draw 2 cards next, and then banished Sekka’s Light from his Graveyard to shuffle a Thunder Dragon from his hand back into his Deck and draw a card. He discarded a Thunder Dragon from his hand to retrieve the third copy from his Deck, and then activated the effect of Danger! Bigfoot! in his hand. He randomly discarded the Thunder Dragon and Special Summoned Bigfoot to the field. Next, he activated the effect of Danger! Nessie! and randomly discarded Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair to Special Summon Nessie to the field. He activated the effect of Danger!? Tsuchinoko? next, randomly discarding Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay from his hand to Special Summon it. He Tributed Tsuchinoko to Summon Thunder Dragondark and then used the effect of the Darkest Diabolos in his Graveyard to Special Summon it. Then, he sent all 4 of his monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Saryuja Skull Dread. He used the effect of Dragondark to add Thunder Dragonroar from his Deck to his hand and then drew 4 cards and returned 3 to his Deck with Saryuja’s effect. He then used Saryuja’s effect to Special Summon Omni Dragon Brotaur from his hand and used its effect to discard Thunder Dragonroar and add Black Dragon Collapserpent to his hand. He sent Brotaur to his Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Elpy and then used Elpy’s effect to Special Summon Eclipse Wyvern from his Deck and then used Eclipse Wyvern to Link Summon Guardragon Pisty. He used Eclipse Wyvern’s effect to banish Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon from his Deck and then banished Eclipse Wyvern from his Graveyard to Special Summon Collapserpent. He added the banished Chaos Emperor to his hand with Wyvern’s effect. Next, he used Pisty’s effect to Special Summon Eclipse Wyvern from his banished zone, and sent it to the Graveyard along with Pisty to Link Summon Guardragon Agarpain. Next, he used Eclipse Wyvern’s effect to banish Chaos Dragon Levianeer from his Deck, and then used Agarpain’s effect to Special Summon Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon from his Extra Deck, linked to Saryuja and Elpy. He sent all of his monsters except for Crystal Wing to his Graveyard to Link Summon another Saryuja and then used the effects of his Collapserpent and Saryuja, adding Wyverburster to his hand and drawing 4 more cards and returning 3 to his Deck. He Special Summoned Wyverburster from his hand next by banishing Dragonroar from his Graveyard, and used Dragonroar’s effect to Special Summon Thunder Dragondark from his Deck. He Tributed it to Special Summon Thunder Dragon Colossus linked to Saryuja and then Special Summoned Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon by banishing Eclipse Wyvern and Phantazmay from his Graveyard. Khan returned Levianeer from his banished zone to his hand, and Polsinelli conceded with Mythical Beast Jackal King, Spell Power Mastery, Servant of Endymion, Zefraath, and Dragon Shrine in his hand, seeing no way to play through Khan’s field.

Duel Two
Polsinelli opened up Duel 2 with Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm, Zefra Divine Strike, Terraforming, Called by the Grave, and Servant of Endymion.
He activated Servant of Endymion in his Pendulum Zone and then activated Terraforming to add Oracle of Zefra to his hand and add a Spell Counter to Servant of Endymion. Next, he activated Oracle of Zefra to add Zefraath from his Deck to his hand, adding another Spell Counter to his Servant. He Normal Summoned Darkwurm next, and used its effect to add Supreme King Gate Zero from his Deck to his hand. He activated Zefraath in his second Pendulum Zone next, adding a third Spell Counter to Servant of Endymion. He used Zefraath’s effect to send Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing from his Deck to his Extra Deck, and then used his Servant’s effect to Special Summon the Servant from his Pendulum Zone and Mythical Beast Jackal King from his Deck with Spell Counters on them. He activated Gate Zero in the Pendulum Zone next, adding 2 Spell Counters to Jackal King. He used Servant and Darkwurm as Link Materials, sending them to the Extra Deck, to Link Summon Heavymetalfoes Electrumite next, and used its effect to send Chronograph Sorcerer to his Extra Deck. Next, he Pendulum Summoned Darkwurm and Zefraniu from his Extra Deck, and activated Zefraniu’s effect to add Zefra Providence from his Deck to his hand. He activated it to add Oracle of Zefra to his hand, bumping Jackal King up to 5 Spell Counters. He used Electrumite’s effect to destroy Gate Zero and return Chronograph from his Extra Deck to his hand, and then used the effects of Chronograph and Electrumite to Special Summon the Chronograph and then draw a card. He sent Darkwurm to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Elpy and then used Electrumite and Zefraniu to Link Summon Triple Burst Dragon. He used Elpy’s effect to Special Summon Destrudo the Lost Dragon’s Frisson from his Deck. He used Destrudo and Triple Burst Dragon to Link Summon Guardragon Agarpain and then used Agarpain’s effect to Special Summon Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon from his Extra Deck. He Link Summoned Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Sphere by using Agarpain and Elpy as Link Materials, and then Special Summoned Destrudo from his Graveyard by targeting Chronograph and paying half of his Life Points. He Tuned Chronograph with Destrudo to Synchro Summon Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and then Set Called by the Grave and Zefra Divine Strike before ending his turn.
Khan activated the effect of Danger!? Jackalope? and discarded Dragonroar at random to Special Summon the Jackalope. He activated the effect of another Jackalope in his hand, discarding Bigfoot from his hand at random to Special Summon the second Jackalope. He used Bigfoot’s effect to try to destroy Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon, Clear Wing negated the effect of Bigfoot, and Khan conceded.

Duel Three
Khan started off Duel 3 by Summoning Batteryman Solar and activating its effect to send Thunder Dragonhawk from his Deck to his Graveyard. He banished the Dragonhawk to Special Summon Collapserpent from his hand and then used Dragonhawk’s effect to shuffle his entire hand of 3 cards back into his Deck and draw 3 new cards. Next, he activated the effect of Danger!? Jackalope? in his hand to randomly discard Omni Dragon Brotaur from his hand, Special Summon the Jackalope, and draw a card. He activated the effect of Danger!? Tsuchinoko? in his hand next, and randomly discarded the Tsuchinoko to activate its effect and Special Summon it. He sent his 4 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Saryuja Skull Dread and added Wyverburster from his Deck to his hand before drawing 4 cards and returning 3 cards from his hand to the bottom of his Deck with Saryuja’s effect. Khan activated Sekka’s Light to draw 2 cards and then Special Summoned Wyverburster by banishing Collapserpent from his Graveyard. He banished Sekka’s Light from his Graveyard next, returning Thunder Dragonduo from his hand to his Deck to draw a card. Next, he used Saryuja’s effect to Special Summon Dragonroar from his hand. He sent Wyverburster to the Graveyard to Link Summon Guardragon Elpy and used Wyverburster’s effect to add Collapserpent to his hand. He used Elpy’s effect to Special Summon Eclipse Wyvern from his Deck and then sent the Wyvern to the Graveyard to Link Summon Pisty. He banished Levianeer from his Deck with Eclipse Wyvern’s effect and then used Pisty’s effect to Special Summon Brotaur. He used Brotaur’s effect and discarded Tsuchinoko to add Chaos Emperor to his hand, and then Link Summoned Agarpain. He used its effect to Special Summon Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon. Next, he sent Dragonroar, Saryuja, Elpy, and Agarpain to the Graveyard to Link Summon another Saryuja. He used Dragonroar’s effect to Special Summon Dragondark from his Deck and then used Saryuja’s effect to draw 4 cards and return 3 cards from his hand to his Deck. He banished Eclipse Wyvern and Danger!? Jackalope? from his Graveyard to Special Summon Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon and returned Levianeer from his banished zone to his hand with Eclipse Wyvern’s effect. He Special Summoned the Levianeer by banishing the 3 DARK Guardragons from his Graveyard, randomly shuffling Timegazer Magician from Polsinelli’s hand back into his Deck with Levianeer’s effect. Next, Khan used Dragondark and Chaos Emperor to Link Summon Beat Cop from the Underworld, and used Saryuja’s effect to Special Summon Thunder Dragon from his hand. He Tributed it to Special Summon Thunder Dragon Colossus from his Extra Deck, then Special Summoned another Levianeer from his hand and combined 2 Levianeers to Xyz Summon Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy. Next, he Tributed the Beat Cop to put a Patrol Counter on Hope Harbinger, and then Special Summoned another Levianeer from his hand. He sent Levianeer and Saryuja to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Sphere.
Polsinelli started his turn with Terraforming, Dragon Shrine, Abyss Actor – Curtain Raiser, and Zefraniu, Secret of the Yang Zing in his hand, and then drew Artifact Sanctum for his turn. He activated Dragon Shrine first, and Khan chose not to negate it. Polsinelli sent Darkwurm from his Deck to his Graveyard and then Special Summoned the Darkwurm to his field. Next, he Normal Summoned Curtain Raiser. He entered his Battle Phase and attacked Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Sphere with Curtain Raiser, but Khan used Hope Harbinger’s effect to redirect the attack to Hope Harbinger, destroying the Curtain Raiser in battle! Next, Darkwurm attacked and was destroyed by Hope Harbinger. Polsinelli activated Zefraniu in his Pendulum Zone, Set a Terraforming to his back row, and ended his turn.
But it was all over on Khan’s next turn! Khan attacked with all of his monsters and wiped out Polsinelli’s Life Points!
