Round 6 Feature Match: Steven John Logan vs. Billy Gene White Jr.

Welcome to Round 6! We’re at Table 17 and we have a Sky Striker Mirror Match! Bill White from Indianapolis, Indiana has Mystic Mine in his Deck while his opponent Steven John Logan does not. The new Field Spell from Dark Neostorm has the ability to shut a Duel down on the spot if a Duelist can’t immediately deal with it. We saw Mystic Mine in our Round 4 Feature Match and we’re about to see it again. It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Logan won the roll and elected for White to start. White started off with Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole, Set a card and activated Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole’s effect, sending the Set Evenly Matched to the Graveyard. He then activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! to add Sky Striker Ace – Raye from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye. In the End Phase he Tributed Sky Striker Ace – Raye to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku then tried to activate Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole’s effect but Logan chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy it. He then used Shizuku’s effect to add Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones from his Deck to his hand.

Logan had a hand of Effect Veiler, Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole, Reinforcement of the Army, Pot of Desires, and Sky Striker Mech – Jamming Waves!. He activated Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole, Set Jamming Waves and used Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to send it to the Graveyard. He then activated Reinforcement of the Army to add Sky Striker Ace – Raye from his Deck to his hand. He then activated Pot of Desires, banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck to draw another Pot of Desires and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. White Normal Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye then used it to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate. In the Battle Phase, Sky Striker Ace – Hayate attacked directly for 1300 and her effect sent Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! from Logan’s Deck to his hand. In Main Phase 2, Logan sent Hayate to the Graveyard to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari whose effect was negated by White’s Effect Veiler. Kagari swapped out for Shizuku.  In the End Phase, Logan used Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku’s effect to add Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor from his Deck to his hand.

White drew to 3 cards in hand. He swapped his Shizuku for Sky Striker Ace – Hayate. In the Battle Phase, White attacked with Sky Striker Ace – Hayate into Logan’s Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. White used Hayate‘s effect to send Sky Striker Mech – Jamming Waves! from his Deck to the Graveyard. By clearing his own field, he was able to activate Evenly Matched from his hand at the end of the Battle Phase. Logan kept Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole, banishing Shizuku face-down. In Main Phase 2, White activated Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones to Special Summon a Token which was used to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari whose effect was negated by Logan’s Effect Veiler. Sky Striker Ace – Kagari swapped for Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. In the End Phase, White’s Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku effect was negated by Logan’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.

Logan activated Terraforming adding Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero from his Deck to his hand. He activated it, Set Pot of Desires then used Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero’s effect but missed. He then activated Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor to negate and take control of White’s Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku which was used to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kaina which was used to Link Summon his own Shizuku. In the Battle Phase, Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku attacked difrectly. In the End Phase, Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole’s effect Set Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! and Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor from his Graveyard to the field, then Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku’s effect added Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones from his Deck to his hand.

White drew, Set a monster and passed.

Logan flipped the Set Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! to add Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero from his Deck to his hand and draw a card, banishing Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! since it was Set by Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole. He then swapped Shizuku for Sky Striker Ace – Hayate, then activated Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones to Special Summon a Sky Striker Ace Token which was used to Link Summon Shizuku to a Main Monster Zone Sky Striker Ace – Hayate was pointing to. He the Normal Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye and used Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to send Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero to the Graveyard. Logan tried to activate the in-grave effect of Are Zero but White negated it with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Logan attacked and cleared White’s face-down Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion and attacked directly. In the End Phase, Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole’s effect Set Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero from the Graveyard and Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku’s effect added Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole from his Deck to his hand.

White drew to one in hand, activating Set Rotation, giving himself Mystic Mine and giving Logan Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero. White activated Mystic Mine and passed.

Logan used his 3 monsters to Link Summon Knightmare Unicorn. He then activated Sky Striker Maneuver – Afterburners! to destroy his own Knightmare Unicorn and White’s Mystic Mine. Logan then activated the Set Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero then replaced the Field Spell with his own Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero, then used Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to send the Field Spell to the Graveyard which let him Special Summon Sky Striker Ace – Raye from the Deck. A direct attack followed by a tag-in for Sky Striker Ace – Hayate was enough to end the first Duel!

Duel 2

White elected for Logan to go first. Logan started with a hand of Upstart Goblin, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage!, Sky Striker Mecha – Eagle Booster, and Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor. He started with Upstart Goblin, drawing Sky Striker Ace – Raye and giving White 1000 LP. He Set Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor and Normal Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye which was Link Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. In the End Phase, Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku’s effect activated, White chained Infinite Impermanence and Logan chained Sky Striker Mecha – Eagle Booster from his hand to make Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku unaffected by the Trap Card. Shizuku’s effect resolved letting Logan add Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! from his Deck to his hand.

White activated Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero, Set a card and used the field effect to add Sky Striker Ace – Raye and send the Set Infinite Impermanence to the Graveyard. He activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! to add Sky Striker Mecha – Eagle Booster. White Normal Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye then used it to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate. In the Battle Phase, Sky Striker Ace – Hayate attacked into Logan’s Shizuku and White activated Sky Striker Mecha – Eagle Booster to make Sky Striker Ace – Hayate unaffected by Shizuku’s effect, making it equal ATK. White sent Sky Striker Mecha – Shark Cannon with Sky Striker Ace – Hayate’s effect. Both players brought back their Rayes. White Tributed his to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari. He tried to bring Engage back to his hand but Logan chained Sky Striker Ace – Raye then with his Monster Zone clear, chained Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor to negate Sky Striker Ace – Kagari’s effect. Logan Summoned Shizuku with Sky Striker Ace – Raye’s effect. In Main Phase 2, White swapped his Sky Striker Ace – Kagari for his own Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. In the End Phase, White used Shizuku’s effect to add Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole from his Deck to his hand. Logan resolved his own Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku effect, adding Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! from his Deck to his hand.

Logan drew Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor. He activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage!, adding Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole and drawing Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones. He activated Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole then a second Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage!, adding Sky Striker Mecha – Shark Cannon and drawing Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. He activated Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor taking control of White’s Shizuku. He then Link Summoned his own Shizuku into Sky Striker Ace – Hayate. Both monsters attacked directly with Sky Striker Ace – Hayate’s effect sending Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero from his Deck to the Graveyard. In Main Phase 2, Logan tried to activate Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to send White’s Shizuku away but White chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy Multirole and prevent that from happening. Logan used both Sky Striker Aces to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix. He then activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! to add Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole and draw Pot of Desires. He activated Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole, then activated Pot of Desires, banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck to draw Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero. Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones came down next, then Knightmare Phoenix and the Token were used to Link Summon Knightmare Unicorn. Logan activated its effect, discarding Sky Striker Mecha – Shark Cannon to spin White’s Area Zero back to his Deck. Next Logan activated Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero. In the End Phase, Logan used Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to Set Sky Striker Mecha – Shark Cannon and Sky Striker Mecha – Eagle Booster from his Graveyard to the field.

White drew and passed.

Logan drew Full House. He Set it and attacked directly with Knightmare Unicorn.

White activated Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole and Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero. He Set a monster then used Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero’s effect on the monster but didn’t find any Sky Striker cards among the top 3 cards of his Deck. Multirole sent the Field Spell to the Graveyard and Area Zero’s effect Special Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye from White’s Deck. Sky Striker Ace – Raye went to the Graveyard to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate which attacked directly. In Main Phase 2, Hayate came out for Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. In the End Phase, White used Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku’s effect to add Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones to his hand, then he tried to use Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole’s effect but Logan chained Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit to destroy it.

Logan activated Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor to steal White’s Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. He used that monster and Knightmare Unicorn to Link Summon Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax! It attacked and destroyed White’s Set Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. In the End Phase, Logan Set Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor with Multirole’s effect.

White activated Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones to Special Summon a Sky Striker Ace Token then used that Token to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku. He Set one to the back and used Shizuku to add Sky Striker Mecha – Shark Cannon from his Deck to his hand which was activated to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate out of Logan’s Graveyard.

Logan used Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to send his Set Full House. In the Battle Phase, Logan activated his two Set Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor’s to steal Sky Striker Ace – Hayate and Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku and that would be enough to end the match!

Steven John Logan moves on with a 5-1 record!
