We’re in the final Round of Swiss for today! We’re looking a bubble match Timothy Garrett Befera from Orlando, Florida has a Zombie Deck (that also uses Orcust cards) takes on Wei Li from Brooklyn, New York and his Danger! Thunder Dragon Deck. A loss here will knock a Duelist out of the tournament. Who will advance to Day 2?  It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Befera won the roll and elected to go first.

Befera started off with Danger!? Jackelope?, The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine, Danger! Nessie!, Danger! Chupacabra!, and The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak. He started with Danger! Chupacabra!, with The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak getting discarded and Danger! Chupacabra! getting Special Summoned. Danger! Nessie! was next with it being discarded. He activated Danger! Nessie!’s effect to add Danger!? Tsuchinoko? from his Deck to his hand. Next, Danger!? Tsuchinoko? was revealed, which was discarded then Special Summoned. Danger!? Jackelope? was next, which hit The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine. Danger!? Jackelope? was Special Summoned and he drew a card. Befera Normal Summoned Orcust Harp Horror and used it and 2 other monsters to Link Summon Curious the Lightsworn Dominion. He used its effect to send Necroworld Banshee from the Deck to the GY. He sent 3 more cards off top including Orcust Knightmare. He then used Danger!? Jackelope? and Curious the Lightsworn Dominion to Link Summon Knightmare Cerberus which turned into Knightmare Mermaid which discarded Doomking Balerdroch and Special Summoned another Orcust Knightmare from the Deck which turned into Galatea, the Orcust Automaton which sent Orcust Cymbal Skeleton to the Graveyard. He then banished Orcust Cymbal Skeleton to Special Summon Orcust Harp Horror from the Graveyard. He then used Galatea’s effect, shuffling Orcust Knightmare into the Deck to Set Orcustrated Babel from the Deck then activated it. He then used both monsters to Link Summon The Phantom Knights of Rusty Bardiche. Its effect sent The Phantom Knights of Silent Boots from the Deck to the Graveyard to Set Phantom Knights’ Fog Blade from the Deck, then he banished the Silent Boots from his Graveyard to add another Phantom Knights’ Fog Blade from the Deck and Set it.

In Li’s standby Phase, Befera’s Doomking Balerdroch hopped out of the Graveyard because there was a Field Spell on the field. Li Normal Summoned Batteryman Solar whose effect sent Thunder Dragonroar. He then Special Summoned White Dragon Wyvernbuster by banishing Thunder Dragonroar. Roar’s effect Special Summoned Thunder Dragondark from the Deck. Solar’s effect gave Li a Batteryman Token. He used the Token and Thunder Dragondark to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix. Its effect let Li discard Danger! Nessie! to destroy one of Befera’s Phantom Knights’ Fog Blades. Li then activated Thunder Dragon from his hand to add two more Thunder Dragons from his Deck to his hand. Li then activated Danger!? Jackelope?, with Befera hitting Eclipse Wyvern. The Dragon was discarded and Jackelope hit the field. Eclipse Wyvern’s effect banished Chaos Dragon Levianeer from his Deck. Knightmare Phoenix and Batteryman Solar were used to Link Summon Knightmare Unicorn. Its effect discarded a Thunder Dragon but Befera chained Phantom Knights’ Fog Blade to negate the effect. Knightmare Unicorn and Danger!? Jackelope? to Link Summon LANphorhynchus. After the Summon, Befera activated Orcust Knightmare targeting Doomking Balerdroch, dumping World Legacy – “World Wand” from the Deck to the Graveyard. He then activated Orcust Harp Horror from the Graveyard, Special Summoning another Orcust Knightmare from the Deck. Then Befera activated Necroworld Banshee from the Graveyard, then Doomking chained its effect as Chain Link 2, banishing Li’s LANphorhynchus  and Necroworld Banshee resolved, activating Zombie World from the Deck. In the Battle Phase, Li ran his White Dragon Wyvernbuster into The Phantom Knights of Rusty Bardiche. In Main Phase 2, Li Special Summoned Black Dragon Collapserpent by banishing Eclipse Wyvern whose effect let Li add the banished Chaos Dragon Levianeer to his hand. He the Special Summoned Chaos Dragon Levianeer by banishing 2 Darks and a Light. He activated the Dragon’s effect but because Zombie World was making it a Zombie, Befera’s Doomking Balerdroch could negate the effect!

Befera activated Danger! Nessie! but since it was the only card in his hand it was discarded. Danger! Nessie!’s effect activated in the Graveyard and because Zombie World made Danger! Nessie! a Zombie, Doomking’s effect triggered and Befera elected to banish Li’s Chaos Dragon Levianeer and at this point Li conceded the Duel.

Duel 2

Li elected to go first. He started with a Normal Summoned Dark Grepher, using its effect discarding Omni Dragon Brotaur, sending Thunder Dragonroar from the Deck to the Graveyard. He passed there.

Befera Normal Summoned Uni-Zombie, then activated Danger!? Tsuchinoko?, and he discarded Gnomaterial, Special Summoning Danger!? Tsuchinoko? in Attack Position. Uni-Zombie’s effect let Befera send Doomking Balerdroch to the Graveyard. He then used Uni-Zombie’s other effect, discarding Orcust Harp Horror. Both monsters were used to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix which turned into a Knightmare Mermaid which discarded Necroworld Banshee to Special Summon Orcust Knightmare from the Deck. Both monsters were used to Link Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton. Orcust Knightmare’s effect from the Graveyard activated, targeting Galatea, sending World Legacy – “World Wand” to the Graveyard. Orcust Harp Horror activated, Special Summon Orcust Cymbal Skeleton from the Deck. Cymbal Skeleton and Galatea were used to Link Summon The Phantom Knights of Rusty Bardiche. Its effect dumped The Phantom Knights of Ancient Cloak and Set Phantom Knights’ Fog Blade from the Deck. Ancient Cloak’s effect activated, banishing itself to add The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine from the Deck. World Legacy – “World Wand” was banished to Special Summon Orcust Harp Horror. Then he Set The Phantom Knights of Shade Brigandine, activated it since there were no Trap Cards in his Graveyard, and it and the Orcust were used to Xyz Summon Time Thief Redoer. Next, he banished Orcust Cymbal Skeleton to Special Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton from the Graveyard and her effect put Orcust Cymbal Skeleton back into the Deck. Next, he Xyz Summoned Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star over Galatea, and used his monster effects to attach Orcust Knightmare to Dingirsu and destroy Li’s Dark Grepher. He used the Omni Dragon Brotaur’s effect, Special Summoning it from the Graveyard, then used Brotaur’s other effect targeting itself, discarding Eclipse Wyvern to add Black Dragon Collapserpent from his Deck to his hand. Eclipse Wyvern’s effect let Li banish Darkest Diabolos, Lord of the Lair from the Deck. Necroworld Banshee’s effect activated, letting Befera activate Zombie World from the Deck. All of Befera’s monsters attacked, leaving Li at 3000 LP. Befera Set Called by the Grave and passed.

In Li’s Standby Phase, Befera Special Summoned Doomking Balerdroch from the Graveyard with its effect. Li Special Summoned Chaos Dragon Levianeer by banishing 2 Darks and a Light. He activated Chaos Dragon Levianeer, Thunder Dragonroar and Eclipse Wyvern’s effects and Befera chained Phantom Knights’ Fog Blade to negate Chaos Dragon Levianeer’s effect. Li Special Summoned Thunder Dragondark from the Deck with the banished Thunder Dragonroar’s effect. He sent Thunder Dragondark and Chaos Dragon Levianeer to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix. Phoenix’s effect tried to destroy Zombie World but Befera used Dingirsu’s effect to protect the Field Spell from destruction. Li now had 4 cards in hand a Knightmare Phoenix on the field to try and deal with Befera’s Doomking Balerdroch, Dingirsu and Time Thief Redoer. Li Normal Summoned Batteryman Solar and Befera responded with Time Thief Redoer’s effect then chained Doomking Balerdroch’s effect to banish Li’s Knightmare Phoenix. Li discarded Thunder Dragonhawk to Special Summon the banished Thunder Dragonroar, then he banished the Thunder Dragonhawk to Special Summon Black Dragon Collapserpent from his hand. But he had no way to deal with the field and extended the handshake.
