It all comes down to this!  YCS Guadalajara started with 788 Duelists from all around the world, and now we’re down to just 2!  Ramiro Garcia from the United States placed 20^th after Swiss and has Danger! Lunalight Orcust, a Deck growing in popularity over the last couple of weeks with its ability to reuse Lunalight Tiger’s effect to Special Summon a Lunalight from the Graveyard multiple times per turn to generate some powerful combos.  His opponent is Jonhathan Sebastian Vazquez Herrera who placed 14^th after Swiss and has Sky Striker, a Deck that has proven to adapt to its surroundings and stay competitive in the right hands.  Only one of these Duelists will walk away with an Ultra Rare version of the YCS Prize Card Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon and the title of YCS Champion.  Who will it be?  For the final time this weekend, it’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Vazquez Herrera won the roll and elected to go first.  He started with Foolish Burial Goods to send Metalfoes Fusion to the Graveyard, which went back to the Deck to draw a card.  Vazquez Herrera Set 5 to the back and passed.

Garcia activated Fire Formation – Tenki which let Garcia add Lunalight Yellow Marten from his Deck to his hand.  He Normal Summoned Lunalight Emerald Bird whose effect let Garcia discard Lunalight Yellow Marten to draw a card.  Yellow Marten’s effect let Garcia add Lunalight Serenade Dance from his Deck to his hand.  Foolish Burial Goods was next, and Garcia sent Luna Light Perfume from his Deck to his hand.  Luna Light Perfume’s effect was activated, banishing it and discarding Lunalight Serenade Dance from his hand to add Lunalight Tiger from his Deck to his hand.  Lunalight Serenade Dance’s effect was next, banishing it from the Graveyard and Garcia chained There Can Be Only One, preventing other Beast-Warriors from being Summoned.  Danger!? Tsuchinoko? was activated and Vazquez Herrera hit World Legacy – “World Wand”.  Danger!? Tsuchinoko? hit the field and Garcia drew a card.  Danger!? Tsuchinoko? and Lunalight Emerald Bird went to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix and its effect let Garcia discard Danger! Bigfoot! to destroy one of Vazquez Herrera’s Set cards which Vazquez Herrera chained: Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor.  Danger! Bigfoot!’s effect destroyed There Can Be Only One.  Knightmare Phoenix went into Knightmare Mermaid and its effect discarded Danger! Nessie! and Vazquez Herrera chained Infinite Impermanence.  Danger! Nessie!’s effect let Garcia add Danger!? Jackelope? from his Deck to his hand.  Lunalight Tiger was activated and Vazquez Herrera chained Cosmic Cyclone, dropping to 7000 LP to banish Tiger from the field.

Vazquez Herrera drew and activated Pot of Desires, banishing the top 10 cards to draw 2 more.  He Set 2 to the back and passed.

Garcia activated Danger!? Jackelope? and Vazquez Herrera hit the coin flip.  Danger!? Jackelope?’s effect let Garcia Special Summon Danger! Mothman! from the Deck.  Garcia then Normal Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick.  Its effect sent Lunalight Yellow Marten from the Deck to the Graveyard to copy its name.  Lunalight Yellow Marten hopped out of the Graveyard by returning Lunalight Kaleido Chick to Garcia’s hand.  Lunalight Yellow Marten and Danger! Mothman! turned into Tornado Dragon.  Tornado Dragon attacked for 1100 (its ATK was reduced by 1000 from Knightmare Mermaid’s effect) and in the End Phase Tornado Dragon’s effect destroyed Vazquez Herrera’s face-down There Can Be Only One.

Vazquez Herrera activated Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones to make a Token which turned into Sky Striker Ace – Hayate.  It attacked into Knightmare Mermaid for 500 and Sky Striker Ace – Hayate’s effect sent Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! from Vazquez Herrera’s Deck to the Graveyard.  In Main Phase 2, Sky Striker Ace – Hayate turned into Sky Striker Ace – Kagari but its effect was negated by Garcia’s Set Infinite Impermanence!  Vazquez Herrera chained his own Infinite Impermanence in the same column and Garcia chained Tornado Dragon to destroy Vazquez Herrera’s Infinite Impermanence!  Sky Striker Ace – Kagari swapped for Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku.  In the End Phase, Vazquez Herrera added Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero from his Deck to his hand.

Garcia drew Infinite Impermanence to add to his hand of Lunalight Kaleido Chick.  Kaleido Chick was Normal Summoned and Tornado Dragon attacked over Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku.  Lunalight Kaleido Chick attacked directly.  In Main Phase 1, Lunalight Yellow Marten hopped out of the Graveyard bouncing back Lunalight Kaleido Chick.  Garcia Set Infinite Impermanence and passed.

Garcia activated Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero then Normal Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Raye.  He used both effects, finding a Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor and Special Summoning Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku.  He attacked directly with Shizuku, Set a card and Shizuku’s End Phase effect was negated by Garcia’s Infinite Impermanence.

Garcia drew a Danger! Nessie played Fire Formation – Tenki to add Lunalight Tiger.  He activated it and used the effect to Special Summon Lunalight Emerald Bird form the Graveyard.  Lunalight Yellow Marten hopped out of the Graveyard this time by bouncing Lunalight Tiger.  Both monsters were stacked to Xyz Summon Raidraptor – Force Trix.  Its effect let Garcia add Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite from his Deck to his hand.  He Normal Summoned Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite then used all three monsters to Link Summon Fire Fighting Daruma Doll.  He used the effect of Lunalight Tiger to Special Summon Lunalight Emerald Bird from the Graveyard and then used Fire Fighting Daruma Doll’s effect to try and destroy a Spell/Trap on each player’s Field but Vazquez Herrera Chained Infinite Impermanence to negate the effect.  Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite bounced Lunalight Tiger to Special Summon itself from the Graveyard.  Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite and Lunalight Emerald Bird were stacked to Xyz Summon Outer Entity Nyarla.  Its effect was activated but Vazquez Herrera chained Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor to negate and steal the Xyz Monster.  He passed and got his Xyz Monster back.

Vazquez Herrera used the effect of Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero on his Set, revealing Sky Striker Ace – Raye and taking it, sending the Set Metalfoes Fusion to the Graveyard.  He put it back into the Deck and drew a card.  Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku attacked over Fire Fighting Daruma Doll leaving Garcia at 6600 LP to Vazquez Herrera’s 4400.  Vazquez Herrera activated Foolish Burial Goods to send Metalfoes Fusion.  Shizuku swapped for Sky Striker Ace – Kaina to keep Outer Entity Nyarla from attacking.  Sky Striker Ace – Kaina swapped for Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku whose End Phase effect added Sky Striker Mecharmory – Hercules Base from Vazquez Herrera’s Deck to his hand.

Garcia turned his Outer Entity Nyarla into an Outer Entity Azathot!  Lunalight Tiger brought back Lunalight Yellow Marten.  Garcia Normal Summoned Lunalight Kaleido Chick then activated Danger! Nessie!, discarding it since it was his only card.  Danger! Nessie!’s Graveyard effect let Garcia add Danger!? Jackelope? who’s effect was activated in Garcia’s hand and discarded in similar fashion.  Danger!? Jackelope?’s Graveyard effect Special Summoned Danger!? Tsuchinoko? from the Deck.  He then used his monsters to Link Summon Borrelsword Dragon.  Lunalight Yellow Marten’s effect bounced Lunalight Tiger which was replayed.  Both monsters turned into Abyss Dweller.  The resulting attacks (and the inability for Vazquez Herrera to activate Sky Striker Ace – Raye from the Graveyard because of Outer Entity Azathot’s effect) sealed the first Duel for Garcia.  He’s one win away from a YCS Championship!

Duel 2

Vazquez Herrera elected to go first.  He started with 2 Set cards.

Garcia activated Danger!? Tsuchinoko?, with Vazquez Herrera hitting Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite.  Then Garcia activated Danger!? Jackelope? with Vazquez Herrera hitting Danger! Bigfoot!.  Garcia Normal Summoned Lunalight Yellow Marten.  Danger!? Jackelope? and Yellow Marten went to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix.  Its effect let Garcia discard Lunalight Serenade Dance.  Vazquez Herrera Chained the target, There Can Be Only One then Chained the other Set card, Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor.  Garcia then banished Lunalight Serenade Dance from the Graveyard, discarding Orcust Knightmare to Special Summon Lunalight Kaleido Chick from the Deck.  Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite bounced Danger!? Tsuchinoko? and the Blackwing came to the field.  Danger!? Tsuchinoko? was activated again with Vazquez Herrera hitting the coin flip.  Danger!? Tsuchinoko? came to the field.  Orcust Knightmare’s effect was next, banished form the Graveyard to send World Legacy – “World Wand” from the Deck to the Graveyard.  Knightmare Phoenix, Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite and Lunalight Kaleido Chick went to the Graveyard to Link Summon Borrelsword Dragon!  That was it!
