Salamangreat is a tried and true tournament winning strategy.  The real variety of each Salamangreat Deck comes with the tech picks each Duelist takes with them.  Among the non-staple cards included here is the triple mained Mind Control and the three Compulsory Evacuation Device.  Each of these cards is single-target removal that doesn’t destroy which are solid answers to an opponent’s Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star.  Solemn Strike also shows an increased priority towards controlling the opponent’s actions and shutting down key plays.

In the Side Deck is 3 copies of Nibiru, the Primal Being, which we’ve seen a lot of this weekend.  The ability to shut a turn 1 combo down before it can negate monster effects is a big reason why combo Decks have been on the decline.  Also in Anandeth’s side Deck is Electric Virus which can steal an opponent’s Machine or Dragon-type monster for the turn, another great pick against Orcust, Cyber Dragon, or Borrelsword Dragon.
