YCS Ft. Worth: Top 4 Feature Match – Ramiro Garcia vs. Nicolas Ortiz
Ramiro Garcia from Dallas, Texas is Dueling against Nicolas Ortiz from Tampa, Florida in this Top 4 Feature Match! Garcia finished the Swiss Rounds with an astounding 11-0 record, failing to lose a single Match this weekend with his Lunalight Orcust Deck! He’s also fresh off of a YCS win from last weekend in Guadalajara, Mexico. Ortiz ended the Swiss Rounds with a 9-2 record using his Sky Striker Deck. One of these Duelists is about to advance to the Finals, and the other will be eliminated. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Ortiz won the die roll and chose to go first. He began his turn by activating Terraforming to add Sky Striker Airspace – Area Zero to his hand and then activated it. He Set a card to his back row and then targeted it with Area Zero; but he revealed 3 cards from the top of his Deck with its effect, and none of them were Sky Strikers! He activated Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! next, and added Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to his hand with its effect. He activated the Multirole and used its effect to send Area Zero to the Graveyard. He used Area Zero to Special Summon Sky Striker Ace – Raye and then sent Raye to the Graveyard to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari. He used Kagari’s effect to add Engage back to his hand, and used it to add Sky Striker Mecha – Shark Cannon from his Deck to his hand. He Link Summoned Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku next, and then Set 2 cards to his back row. In the End Phase, he used Shizuku’s effect to add Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor to his hand and activated it, targeting Shizuku. That allowed him to Set it along with the Area Zero from his Graveyard with the effect of Multirole.
Garcia opened up with Foolish Burial, Danger! Nessie!, Foolish Burial Goods, Danger!? Jackalope?, and Lunalight Kaleido Chick. He drew Orcust Harp Horror for his turn and then used Foolish Burial Goods to send Luna Light Perfume from his Deck to his Graveyard. He banished the Perfume and discarded Nessie to add Lunalight Tiger to his hand, and added Danger!? Tsuchinoko? to his hand with the effect of Nessie. He Normal Summoned Kaleido Chick and used its effect to send Lunalight Yellow Marten to his Graveyard. He activated Lunalight Tiger in his Pendulum Zone next, but lost out to Ortiz’s Cosmic Cyclone. Garcia Set a card to his back row and then activated the effect of the Tsuchinoko in his hand. He randomly discarded Harp Horror, Summoned Tsuchinoko, and drew a Luna Light Perfume from his Deck. He activated it to target the Yellow Marten in his Graveyard and Special Summon it in Defense Position. Then, he combined Kaleido Chick with Yellow Marten to Xyz Summon Raidraptor – Force Strix. He detached an Xyz Material to add Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite from his Deck to his hand and then banished Perfume from his Graveyard and discarded Zephyros to add Lunalight Tiger from his Deck to his hand. He activated the Tiger in his Pendulum Zone and used its effect to target Kaleido Chick and Special Summon it back from his Graveyard to the field. He used Kaleido Chick’s effect to send Yellow Marten from his Deck to his Graveyard and then returned the Tiger to his hand to Special Summon Zephyros from his Graveyard and give up 400 Life Points. He sent Zephyros and Force Strix to the Graveyard to Link Summon Fire Fighting Daruma Doll and then replayed the Tiger. He used its effect again to Special Summon Yellow Marten from his Graveyard and then combined Kaleido Chick and Yellow Marten to Xyz Summon Tornado Dragon. He detached an Xyz Material from it to try to destroy Ortiz’s face-down Widow Anchor, and Ortiz Chained it to target Daruma Doll and negate its effect. Next, Garcia used the effect of the Yellow Marten in his Graveyard to Special Summon it to the field by returning Tiger to his hand. He sent Tornado Dragon and Tsuchinoko to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix next, and used its effect to discard Jackalope and target Ortiz’s face-down Shark Cannon. Ortiz Chained it to banish Harp Horror from Garcia’s Graveyard. Garcia Special Summoned Danger! Mothman! from his Deck with his Jackalope’s effect. He combined Mothman and Yellow Marten to Xyz Summon Outer Entity Nyarla and then used its effect by detaching Yellow Marten and Mothman. He reattached Jackalope and added Lunalight Serenade Dance to his hand with the effect of Yellow Marten. He Xyz Summoned Outer Entity Azathot next, and then sent Knightmare Phoenix to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Mermaid. He used its effect and discarded his Serenade Dance to Special Summon Orcust Knightmare from his Deck and then sent Mermaid and Knightmare to the Graveyard to Link Summon Galatea, the Orcust Automaton. He banished Orcust Knightmare from his Graveyard next, sending World Legacy – “World Wand” from his Deck to his Graveyard and then flipped Foolish Burial to send Orcust Cymbal Skeleton from his Deck to his Graveyard. He banished World Wand from his Graveyard to Special Summon his banished Knightmare and then activated Lunalight Tiger from his hand. He used its effect to Special Summon Kaleido Chick and used its effect to add Lunalight Emerald Bird to his Graveyard. He Link Summoned Borrelsword Dragon next, and then banished Cymbal Skeleton from his Graveyard to Special Summon Galatea from his Graveyard. He used Galatea to shuffle Cymbal Skeleton into his Deck and get Orcustrated Babel and activate it. He Xyz Summoned Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star and sent Ortiz’s Multirole to the Graveyard with its effect. Ortiz used Eagle Booster to protect Shizuku for the turn. Attacks from all of Garcia’s monsters over Shizuku, including 2 attacks from Borrelsword after it used its effect, dropped Ortiz down to 1400 Life Points.
Ortiz activated Toon Table of Contents and used it to get another copy from his Deck. He activated it to get the third copy, and then didn’t use his final copy. He Set it instead. He flipped Area Zero and used it to destroy his Toon Table and add an Engage from the top of his Deck to his hand. He activated the Engage to add Widow Anchor to his hand and draw a card. Ortiz activated Widow Anchor next, targeting Borrelsword. Garcia Chained Borrelsword’s effect to switch his Azathot into Defense Position. Borrelsword attacked and destroyed Daruma Doll in the Battle Phase, dropping Garcia down to 5100 Life Points. Then Shizuku attacked Azathot, and Dingirsu used its effect to protect it. In Main Phase 2, Ortiz sent Borrelsword and Shizuku to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Phoenix and Set a card to his back row.
Garcia banished Orcust Knightmare from his Graveyard to use its effect, but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Then, he used his Tiger’s effect, targeting Kaleido Chick to Special Summon it, and Ortiz conceded.

Duel Two
Nicolas Ortiz started off Duel 2 by activating Area Zero. He Summoned Raye, used Area Zero to target Raye, and then Chained Raye’s effect to Tribute it and Summon Sky Striker Ace – Hayate from his Extra Deck. He added Shark Cannon to his hand with the Area Zero’s effect. He activated Engage next, adding Sky Striker Mecha Modules – Multirole to his hand. He sent Hayate to the Graveyard to Link Summon Kagari and used Kagari’s effect to return Engage to his hand. He activated Multirole and then used Engage to add Widow Anchor from is Deck to his hand. Ortiz Link Summoned Shizuku next, and then Set 2 cards to his back row. He entered his End Phase and used Multirole to Set Engage from his Graveyard to his field. He then used Shizuku’s effect to add another Engage from his Deck to his hand.
Garcia opened up with Twin Twisters, Orcust Cymbal Skeleton, Eradicator Epidemic Virus, Luna Light Perfume, Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite, and Danger! Nessie!.
He activated Twin Twisters and discarded Luna Light Perfume to target Ortiz’s face-down Widow Anchor and Shark Cannon. Ortiz Chained the Widow Anchor, targeting Shizuku. Garcia used Nessie’s effect next, and randomly discarded Zephyros. He Special Summoned Nessie, drew Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay, and Special Summoned Nessie to the field. He returned Nessie to his hand to Special Summon Zephyros back from the Graveyard and give up 400 Life Points, and then banished Light Perfume from his Graveyard to discard Nessie and try to search with the effect of Light Perfume. He lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, but resolved the effect of his Nessie to add Danger!? Jackalope? from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned Cymbal Skeleton next, and then sent Cymbal Skeleton and Zephyros to the Graveyard to Summon Knightmare Phoenix. He then sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Mermaid. He used Mermaid’s effect to discard Jackalope and Special Summon Orcust Knightmare from his Deck. He used Jackalope’s effect to Special Summon Danger! Bigfoot! from his Deck. He sent his Mermaid and Orcust to the Graveyard to Link Summon Galatea and banished Orcust Knightmare to send Harp Horror to his Graveyard. He banished Harp Horror to Special Summon Orcust Knightmare and then used Galatea’s effect to shuffle Orcust Knightmare from his Banished Zone into his Deck and Set Orcust Crescendo. He then Link Summoned Longirsu, the Orcust Orchestrator. He banished Cymbal Skeleton from his Graveyard to try to Special Summon Galatea, but lost out to Ortiz’s Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion. Garcia ended his turn and Ortiz Set Shark Cannon from his Graveyard with Multirole in the End Phase.
Ortiz drew a card and activated Cosmic Cyclone in the Draw Phase, targeting Orcust Crescendo, which was Chained to banish it. Garcia flipped Eradicator Epidemic Virus and Tributed Bigfoot to eradicate all Spell Cards, leaving Ortiz with just a Shizuku on his field and no hand! He used the effect of his Area Zero to Special Summon Raye from his Deck when Area Zero went to the Graveyard, and then sent Shizuku to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hayate. Garcia Special Summoned Phantazmay from his hand! He drew 2 cards and returned one of them to his Deck. Hayate attacked directly and Ortiz used its effect to send Sky Striker Maneuver – Jamming Waves! from his Deck to his Graveyard. He sent Hayate to the Graveyard in Main Phase 2 to Link Summon Shizuku and used its effect in the End Phase to add Sky Striker Mecha – Hornet Drones from his Deck to his hand.
Garcia drew Foolish Burial and then Summoned Armageddon Knight. He activated its effect to send Yellow Marten to the Graveyard and used the Lunalight’s effect to add Lunalight Serenade Dance to his hand. He activated Foolish Burial to send Emerald Bird to the Graveyard next, and then Special Summoned Yellow Marten with Emerald Bird’s effect. Garcia sent 3 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion and used its effect to send Luna Light Perfume from his Deck to his Graveyard. He sent the top 3 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard and then banished Light Perfume from his Graveyard and discarded the Trap Card from his hand to add Lunalight Tiger to his hand. He activated it and used its effect to Special Summon Kaleido Chick. He then used Yellow Marten’s effect in the Graveyard to Special Summon it and return the Tiger to his hand. He sent Curious and Kaleido Chick to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Gryphon and then activated Lunalight Tiger again after replaying it. He used its effect to Special Summon Kaleido Chick and then used her effect to send Yellow Marten from the Deck to the Graveyard. He Xyz Summoned Outer Entity Nyarla and Azathot next and then used Longirsu’s effect to send Shizuku to the Graveyard. He Xyz Summoned Dingirsu over Longirsu next, and Ortiz conceded.
Garcia is moving on to the Finals with his Lunalight Orcust Deck!
