“I played Salamangreat because it has a really favorable Orcust matchup with cards like Apollousa, the Bow Goddess and Abyss Dweller. Against slower Decks, it generates a lot of advantage and can recur really hard.”

Jule noted Will of the Salamangreat, Pot of Desires, and Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess in his Deck, which he says aren’t used by a lot of Salamangreat Duelists. Will of the Salamangreat allows him to Link Summon Apollousa more easily, which he says is really strong against Orcust Decks and effect-reliant Decks.
One of the biggest strengths of Salamangreat Decks is their power to reuse cards and pull ahead as a Duel drags on. By capitalizing on this strength, Walter Jule was able to take a third place finish.
