His opponent is Ben Hernandez, from Palm Springs, CA, who’s brought Salamangreats. Only one Duelist can claim the title of YCS Pasadena Dragon Duel Champion – it’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Hernandez won the dice roll and chose to play first. He had Salamangreat Jack Jaguar, Salamangreat Gazelle, Salamangreat Spinny, Salamangreat Circle, and Cynet Mining. He led with Mining, discarding Jack Jaguar, and Boudreaux used Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it. Hernandez played Salamangreat Circle next, getting Salamangreat Fowl. He Normal Summoned Spinny and Link Summoned Salamangreat Balelynx. He used Balelynx’s effect to get Salamangreat Sanctuary, and Special Summoned Gazelle and Fowl. Gazelle sent Salamangreat Rage to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Spinny and stacked it with Gazelle for Salamangreat Miragestallio. It detached Gazelle to Special Summon Salamangreat Falco, which he used with Balelynx for Salamangreat Sunlight Wolf. He played Sanctuary and then used Sunlight Wolf for another Wolf. He returned Fowl to his hand to Special Summon Falco. Sunlight Wolf got Salamangreat Rage to his hand, and he Set it. He Special Summoned Jack Jaguar with its effect, and Sunlight Wolf’s effect added Gazelle to his hand. He Xyz Summoned Abyss Dweller to finish the turn.

Hernandez drew Heavy Storm Duster and played Gazelle, sending Salamangreat Roar to the Graveyard. He used Miragestallio’s effect, which Special Summoned Foxy in Defense Position. He Special Summoned Fowl from his hand along with it. At this time, Boudreaux used True Draco Apocalypse, destroying Disciples to weaken Hernandez’s field, and Disciples targeted Sanctuary. Hernandez used the effect of Balelynx from the Graveyard to save his Field Spell. Hernandez attacked with everything, leaving Boudreaux with 3600 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, with Sunlight Wolf’s effects he added Roar and Gazelle to his hand. He Set his Trap Cards.

Boudreaux played Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, but Hernandez used Roar to negate and destroy it. Boudreaux Set one card in his back row.

Hernandez drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He attacked with everything, ending the first Duel!

Duel 2

Boudreaux began the next Duel with the same opening as before: three Set back row cards and Disciples of the True Dracophoenix.

Hernandez had 2 Cynet Mining, 2 Enemy Controller, and Will of the Salamangreat. He drew Twin Twisters. He played a Mining, discarding the other Mining, and Boudreaux had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring again! Hernandez Set Twin Twisters.

Boudreaux played Sky Striker Mobilize – Engage! to get Sky Striker Ace – Raye, and Normal Summoned it. He used it to Link Summon Sky Striker Ace – Kagari, adding Engage to his hand and using it again to find Sky Striker Mecha – Widow Anchor. He Set it, then used Kagari to play Sky Striker Ace – Shizuku, but did not use its effect.

Hernandez drew Foxy and played it, adding Sanctuary to his hand with its effect, and Boudreaux flipped There Can Be Only One! Hernandez continued by setting both copies of Enemy Controller.

Boudreaux sent Shizuku to destroy Foxy in battle.

Hernandez drew Heavy Storm Duster. He discarded Sanctuary for Foxy’s effect to Special Summon it and destroy There Can Be Only One. He used Foxy to play Balelynx, and Boudreaux flipped Skill Drain! Hernandez Set Heavy Storm Duster.

In the End Phase, Hernandez used Heavy Storm Duster to destroy Skill Drain and Widow Anchor.

Wolf’s effect added Roar back to his hand, and Boudreaux used Dinomight Knight to put True King’s Return face-up on the field. Hernandez discarded Jaguar to Special Summon Foxy from the Graveyard, and Foxy destroyed True King’s Return. Return’s effect then targeted Sunlight Wolf, but it was saved by the effect of Balelynx in the Graveyard. Hernandez Special Summoned Jack Jaguar with Will of the Salamangreat, then Special Summoned another Jaguar with its own effect. Sunlight Wolf put Spinny in his hand. Boudreaux flipped True Draco Apocalypse, targeting his Heritage, but Hernandez flipped Twin Twisters, discarding Spinny to destroy Apocalypse before it could resolve. However, the Apocalypse took Sunlight Wolf down with it. Hernandez used four of his monsters to play Borreload Dragon, attacking Dinomight Knight and ending the Duel!
