QQ: How Do You Feel About There Being a YCS at the 2020 World Championship?

February 23rd, 2020

QQ stands for Quick Questions! Yesterday on the Official Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Live Stream, it was announced that this year’s Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship in Minneapolis, MN on August 22nd and 23rd will be preceded by a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event that will begin on Friday, August 21st, and that there will be several public events throughout the weekend of the World Championship. I surveyed this weekend’s attendees to see how they feel about this year’s World Championship being the first one ever to overlap with a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series event in which they can participate. Check out their responses!

Herman Cosie

“I feel like that’s an amazing thing. That’s a good way of thinking outside of the box right there. Unexpected! I like it!” -Herman Cosie

Jake Cuenzi

“That’s exciting. Players from all over the world can choose to go to the World Championship, and they can also play in the YCS.” -Jake Cuenzi

Alex Weiner

“I think that’s pretty good. It’s a first opportunity to get an invitation to the 2021 WCQ and that gives you a whole year to prepare for the WCQ without worrying about getting there.” -Alex Weiner

Hani Jawhari

“I think that’s a good idea because it gets the whole community out for something really big. It makes Worlds more than just a regular prestigious event. Not only the top players who qualify get to go, but also casual players get to go. They can play in a YCS, and then watch the World Championship. That’s a great event. It’s also the first time ever for it, and it’s always good to try new things.” -Hani Jawhari

Duelists are already excited for this year’s Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship!
