We’re about to find out. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Wingate won the die roll and chose to go second.
Chang Set 2 cards to his back row and passed his turn.
Wingate opened up with Lightning Storm, Dark Ruler No More, Infernoid Antra, Monster Gate, and 2 copies of Void Imagination. He made no play and passed his turn.
Chang activated One for One, sending D.D. Crow from his hand to his Graveyard to Special Summon Altergeist Meluseek from his Deck. He attacked directly with Meluseek. In Main Phase 2, he sent Meluseek to the Graveyard to Link Summon Linkuriboh and added Altergeist Multifaker from his Deck to his hand with the effect of Meluseek.
Wingate drew another Dark Ruler No More and then activated Lightning Storm to try to destroy Chang’s back row cards; but Chang activated Solemn Judgment and paid 4000 Life Points to stop it! Next, Wingate activated Void Imagination. He sent it to the Graveyard to try to use its effect, but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He activated another Void Imagination next, and sent it to the Graveyard to fuse 6 Infernoids from his Deck into Infernoid Tierra. He activated its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. Chang then Special Summoned Multifaker from his hand and used its effect to Special Summon Meluseek from his Deck. Next, Wingate activated Monster Gate. He Tributed Tierra and then sent cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard, including 1 Infernoid, before revealing Infernoid Decatron and Special Summoning it. He activated Decatron’s effect to send Infernoid Patrulea from his Deck to his Graveyard and gain its Level and effect. Next, Chang used the effect of a D.D. Crow in his hand to banish Infernoid Onuncu from Wingate’s Graveyard. Wingate banished 2 Infernoids from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Seitsemas from his Graveyard and then attacked Linkuriboh with Decatron. Chang Tributed Linkuriboh to use its effect and target Decatron, effectively stopping the attack. Seitsemas attacked and destroyed Multifaker, and then its effect banished Meluseek.
Chang drew a card and conceded, overwhelmed by the impact that Wingate’s Void Imagination had on the Duel.
Duel Two
Chang chose to go first and started off the Duel by activating Pot of Extravagance. He banished 6 random cards from his Extra Deck face-down and drew 2 cards. Next, he Normal Summoned Altergeist Marionetter and used its effect to Set Altergeist Protocol from his Deck. He Set 2 more cards to his back row before passing his turn.
Wingate activated his own Pot of Extravagance by randomly banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck, but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.
Next, he activated Reasoning! Chang declared Level 1. Wingate sent 3 Infernoids and a Lair of Darkness to his Graveyard before revealing Infernoid Decatron, and sent the Decatron to the Graveyard since Chang had correctly guessed the Level of the monster revealed. Wingate activated Lair of Darkness next, and then Special Summoned Patrulea from his hand by banishing Decatron from his Graveyard. Patrulea attacked and destroyed Marionetter and then Wingate passed his turn.
Chang activated another copy of Pot of Extravagance, banishing 6 more cards from his Extra Deck face-down to draw 2 more cards. He Special Summoned Dinowrestler Pankratops next, and Tributed it to destroy Lair of Darkness. Next, he flipped Altergeist Manifestation to Special Summon Marionetter from his Graveyard and Normal Summoned Altergeist Silquitous. He sent both monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Altergeist Hexstia and used Silquitous’s effect to return Manifestation from his Graveyard to his hand. He Set a card to his back row before passing his turn.
Wingate drew Monster Gate and then used Patrulea’s effect to destroy Chang’s face-down Waking the Dragon! With most of his Extra Deck gone, Chang used the effect of Waking the Dragon to Special Summon Multifaker from his Main Deck, and used Multifaker’s effect to Special Summon Silquitous from his Deck. Wingate activated Monster Gate next by Tributing Patrulea, but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Next, Wingate banished 3 Infernoids from his Graveyard to Special Summon Infernoid Devyaty from his Graveyard and used its effect; but Chang flipped Altergeist Protocol and used it to send Silquitous to the Graveyard and negate the activation of Devyaty’s effect and destroy Devyaty.
Chang flipped Manifestation to Special Summon Silquitous from his Graveyard and attacked directly with all 3 of his monsters to drop Wingate down to 3300 Life Points. Chang Set a card to his back row before passing his turn.
Wingate drew Void Vanishment and activated it. He discarded a card to try to use its effect, but Hexstia’s effect negated it and destroyed it. Wingate activated Void Imagination next and passed his turn with it face-up on the field.
Chang Link Summoned Knightmare Phoenix and used its effect to destroy Imagination. It was all over moments later after he Summoned Marionetter and attacked directly with both of his monsters!
The Feature Match is going to a final Duel, and Wingate chose to go second!

Wingate opened up with Infernoid Patrulea, Infernoid Onuncu, One for One, and 2 copies of Lair of Darkness before drawing Evenly Matched for his turn! He entered his Battle Phase and activated it at the end of the Battle Phase, but lost out to Solemn Judgment! Chang gave up 4000 Life Points to protect his other 2 cards. Wingate activated One for One next, Special Summoning Decatron from his Deck, and activated its effect. Chang used his Protocol to send Marionetter to the Graveyard and negate the effect of Decatron and destroy it. Chang banished Decatron from the Graveyard to Special Summon Patrulea and used its effect to destroy Protocol. He activated Lair of Darkness next. In the End Phase, Chang used Manifestation to Special Summon Marionetter, and then Special Summoned Multifaker from his hand. He used Multifaker’s effect to Special Summon Meluseek from his Deck.
Chang Tributed Patrulea from Wingate’s field to Special Summon Gameciel, the Sea Turtle Kaiju in its place and then Link Summon Hexstia. He used Meluseek’s effect to add Silquitous from his Deck to his hand and then used Marionetter’s effect to exchange Marionetter with Meluseek. He Normal Summoned Silquitous next. He attacked directly with Meluseek and used its effect to destroy Lair of Darkness, and then attacked Gameciel with Hexstia to destroy it. Silquitous attacked directly, dropping Wingate down to 6600 Life Points. Chang Link Summoned Altergeist Primebanshee in Main Phase 2 and then used the effects of Silquitous and Hexstia. He activated 2 copies of D.D. Crow from his hand to banish both Infernoids from Chang’s Graveyard and then Set a card to his back row.
Wingate drew a card and Chang activated Manifestation in the Draw Phase to Special Summon Hexstia from his Graveyard. Wingate passed.
Chang used Primebanshee’s effect to Tribute Meluseek and Special Summon a Marionetter. He Normal Summoned another Marionetter next, and then direct attacks from Chang’s 4 Altergeist monsters finished Wingate off!
Hyuk Chang advances with a 6-0 record using his Altergeist Deck!
