The addition of Magicians’ Soul from Legendary Duelists: Magical Hero makes a lot of Decks a lot more powerful with the ability to Special Summon a monster at the same time as sending a Level 6 or higher Spellcaster from the Deck to the Graveyard as a “cost” – which the SPYRAL strategy leverages into advantage. Sending SPYRAL Master Plan to the Graveyard means it can be easily Special Summoned thanks to SPYRAL GEAR – Big Red and the Graveyard effect of SPYRAL MISSION – Rescue. The Scrap cards complement the SPYRAL strategy by adding an additional way to extend combos. Reviving a Scrap Recycler with Scrap Wyvern then using Scrap Wyvern’s other effect to Special Summon Scrap Golem and destroy a card on the field can pick apart the opponent’s defenses while at the same time setting Penaranda up for bigger combos. You can see Penaranda’s Feature Matches here and here.
Congratulations to Ruben Penaranda and his Top 4 finish at the UDS Invitational Winter 2020!
