Justin Singh from Cincinnati, Ohio and Andrew Dolich from Michigan both lost in the Top 4 of YCS Hartford. But the journey isn’t over for them just yet. Now they will face off in a Match that will determine which Duelist gets third place and takes home a Super Rare copy of the YCS Prize Card Duel Link Dragon, the Duel Dragon. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Dolich started off the Duel by Special Summoning Tenyi Spirit – Shthana.

He used Heavenly Dragon Circle to Tribute it and search, and then Normal Summoned Swordsoul of Mo Ye. He used its effect to Special Summon a Swordsoul Token and then Synchro Summon Swordsoul Grandmaster – Chixiao. He added Swordsoul Strategist – Longyuan to his hand with Chixiao’s effect and drew a card with the effect of Mo Ye. Next, he Special Summoned Longyuan by discarding Tenyi Spirit – Vishuda and Special Summoned a Token. He Synchro Summoned Baronne de Fleur and inflicted 1200 points of damage to Singh’s Life Points with Longyuan’s effect. He Set 2 cards to his back row before passing.

Singh opened up with Mystic Mine, Drytron Fafnir, Cyber Angel Benten, and 2 copies of Drytron Alpha Thuban. He drew Drytron Gamma Eltanin and then he activated Fafnir to add Drytron Nova to his hand. He used the Nova to Special Summon Drytron Zeta Aldhibah from his Deck. Next, he Tributed it to try to use Alpha’s effect, but Dolich used the effect of his Baronne to negate it the activation! Singh Special Summoned Zeta by Tributing Benten from his hand next, and added Meteonis Drytron to his hand. He used Benten’s effect to add Diviner of the Herald to his hand and then activated Meteonis Drytron. He Tributed Gamma from his hand to Special Summon Benten from his Graveyard and then returned the Meteonis Drytron to his hand. He Tributed Benten to Special Summon Gamma back to the field and then Special Summoned Alpha from his Graveyard. He used Benten’s effect to add Cyber Angel Natasha to his hand. He Normal Summoned Diviner of the Herald and activated its effect, but Dolich banished Longyuan from his Graveyard to negate it with Chixiao’s effect. Singh Xyz Summoned Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir next and activated its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. Next, Singh activated Meteonis Drytron and Special Summoned Natasha to his field. He used its effect to gain 1000 Life Points and then sent it to the Graveyard along with Diviner to Link Summon Lyna. He Special Summoned Natasha back from his Graveyard and took control of Baronne de Fleur before gaining more Life Points. Next, Singh Link Summoned Knightmare Phoenix. He used its effect by discarding a Mystic Mine, and Dolich Chained his last face-down card, Infinite Impermance, to negate its effect. Next, Singh used Baronne’s effect to destroy Chixiao and used Lyna’s effect to Special Summon it to the field. Direct attacks from his monsters were more than enough to wipe out all of Dolich’s Life Points!

Duel Two

Dolan started off Duel 2 by Special Summoning Tenyi Spirit – Adhara from his hand. He sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Monk of the Tenyi and then activated Vessel for the Dragon Cycle He sent Tenyi Spirit – Ashuna to his Graveyard and added Ashuda to his hand. He Special Summoned it and then banished Ashuna from his Graveyard to Special Summon Adhara. He then banished Adhara to add Ashuna to his hand. He Synchro Summoned Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing next, and used its effect to Special Summon Ashuna from his Graveyard by giving up the Monk. He Synchro Summoned Chaofeng, Phantom of the Yang Zing and then Normal Summoned Swordsoul of Taia. He used its effect to Special Summon a Swordsoul Token and then Synchro Summoned Chixiao. He sent Mo Ye to the Graveyard with Taia’s effect and added a Taia to his hand with Chixiao’s effect.

Singh opened up Duel 2 with Forbidden Droplet, Cyber Emergency, Zeta, and 2 copies of Alpha.

He drew Gamma for turn and then activated Cyber Emergency. He Chained the effect of Forbidden Droplet to send the Emergency and an in-hand Zeta to the Graveyard, negating the effects of both of Dolan’s monsters. He added Delta to his hand and then Tributed Zeta from his hand to Special Summon Alpha and used its effect to add Benten to his hand. He then used Zeta’s effect by Tributing Benten. Dolan Chained D.D. Crow to banish Zeta, and Dolan added another Benten to his hand with the effect of the Tributed Benten. Next, he Tributed Benten to Special Summon Gamma and Special Summon Zeta from his Graveyard with its effect. He added Diviner of the Herald to his hand with Benten’s effect and Normal Summoned it, but lost out on its effect to Dolan’s Effect Veiler. Singh sent Diviner and Gamma to his Graveyard to Link Summon Lyna the Light Charmer, Lustrous and used its effect to Special Summon Baxia from Dolan’s Graveyard. Next, he Xyz Summoned Drytron Mu Beta Fafnir. He used its effect to send Meteonis Drytron from his Deck to his Graveyard and then returned it to his hand with its effect. He Link Summoned Knightmare Unicorn next, using its effect to shuffle Chaofeng into the Deck. Next, he used Metetonis Drytron to Special Summon Benten from his Graveyard by giving up an Xyz Material on Mu Beta Fafnir and Tributed the Benten to Special Summon Delta. He used Benten’s effect to add Artifact Lancea to his hand. He Link Summoned Accesscode Talker next, increasing its ATK to 5300 with its effect. He banished a card from his Graveyard to destroy Chixiao and then attacked with Accesscode and Mu Beta Fafnir to drop Dolich down to 1700 Life Points. Singh Xyz Summoned Zeus in Main Phase 2 and then passed his turn.

Singh drew a card and conceded, realizing he could not prevail!
