It all comes down to this! Jesse Kotton from Toronto is Dueling against Raymond Dai from Detroit, Michigan in a Match that will determine the winner of YCS Niagara Falls. Jesse Kotton has competed in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME World Championship three times and has won two YCS events already. He is no stranger to high-pressure Matches, which may give him an edge in this final round. Dai, on the other hand, has made it to the top cut of a YCS many times in the past, but never achieved a first-place win. He’s looking to change that today. Dai believes that Tearlaments Decks are one of the best matchups for his Exosister Deck, so he should be favored in his Match from a purely strategic standpoint. In less than an hour, one of these two Duelists will become the champion of YCS Niagara Falls. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Raymond Dai opened up Duel 1 with Mystic Mine, Pot of Prosperity, Exosister Martha, Exosister Elis, and Exosister Returnia.

He activated Pot of Prosperity by banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck. He revealed Exosister Pax, Exosister Martha, 2 copies of Exosister Elis, Exosister Carpedivem, and Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring from the top of his Deck. He added Carpedivem to his hand and then activated the effect of Martha to Special Summon it from his hand along with an Elis from his Deck. Next, he activated Carpedivem and Xyz Summoned Exosister Kaspitell. He named Nibiru, the Primal Being with the effect of Carpedivem. He searched his Deck for Exosister Stella with Kaspitell’s effect and then Normal Summoned Stella. He used its effect to Special Summon Elis from his hand. He Xyz Summoned Mikailis by using Stella and Elis and used Mikailis’s effect to add Exosister Vadis from his Deck to his hand. Next, he Xyz Summon Exosisters Magnifica in Defense Position and Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.

Kotton activated Terraforming to add Primeval Planet Perlereino to his hand and then activated the effect of Tearlaments Scheiren in his hand. He sent Blackwing – Zephyros the Elite from his hand to his Graveyard and sent Tearlaments Merrli and 2 Spell Cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Scheiren’s effect. Kotton activated Merrli’s effect and Dai Chained Exosister Vadis. He Special Summoned Exosister Sophia and Exosister Irene from his Deck, and then Kotton Fusion Summoned Tearlaments Kitkallos with Merrli’s effect. Next, Kotton activated Super Polymerization by discarding Perlereino! He fused Magnifica with Sophia on Dai’s field to Summon Mudragon of the Swamps from his Extra Deck and then Dai used Irene’s effect to Xyz Summon Mikailis on it. Kotton added Tearlaments Reinoheart to his hand with Kitkallos’s effect, but Dai stopped him from being able to use Reinoheart’s effect with Carpedivem. Next, Dai banished Kitkallos with Mikailis’s effect. Dai then flipped Exosister Returnia and used its effects to banish Perlereino and Mudragon. Kotton passed his turn with nothing on his field!

Dai activated Mikailis’s effect to add Exosister Pax to his hand and then activated Pax to add Exosister Martha to his hand. He used Martha’s effect to Special Summon it alongside an Elis from his deck. Next, he combined Martha with Elis to Xyz Summon Exosister Kaspitell. He activated Kaspitell’s effect and Chained Carpedivem’s effect naming Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Next, he used Kaspitell’s effect to add Exosister Martha from his Deck to his hand. He then combined Kaspitell and Mikailis to Xyz Summon Exosisters Magnifica in Attack Position! He attacked twice with Magnifica to drop Kotton down to 2400 Life Points. Dai Set a card to his back row and then passed his turn.

Kotton drew a card and conceded, unable to contend with Exosisters Magnifica.

Duel Two

Kotton started off Duel 2 by activating the effect of Danger! Mothman! and Dai Chained the effect of Dimension Shifter from his hand!

Kotton randomly banished Tearlaments Havnis and then Special Summoned the Mothman and drew a card. Kotton passed his turn with no further play.

Dai drew a card and then had Necrovalley, Martha, Sophia, Dimension Shifter, and D.D. Crow in his hand. He used the effect of Martha to Special Summon it alongside an Elis in his Deck and then Normal Summoned Sophia. He activated Sophia’s effect to draw a card and then combined Elis with Sophia to Xyz Summon Mikailis. He detached an Xyz Material from Mikailis to add Exosister Returnia from his deck to his hand and then entered his Battle Phase. He banished Mothman with Mikailis’s effect and then attacked directly with Martha and Mikailis. He activated Necrovalley and Set Returnia before passing his turn.

Kotton activated Cosmic Cyclone to banish Necrovalley and then used the effect of the Scheiren in his hand. He sent Merrli to the Graveyard to Special Summon Scheiren and sent 3 Spells from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with Scheiren’s effect. Kotton attacked Martha with Scheiren, and Dai used D.D. Crow to banish Merrli from the Graveyard. That allowed him to activate the effect of his Martha to Xyz Summon Exosister Asophiel over it. Kotton moved into Main Phase 2 and then Normal Summoned Merrli. He used its effect and sent two Spells plus a Danger! Nessie! from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. Kotton Special Summoned Spright Jet from his hand next and then offered the handshake, acknowledging that he couldn’t win.
