Round 10 Feature Match: Pakawat Pamornsut vs. Blair Hunter
Remote Duel YCS Champion and social media personality Pakawat Pamornsut from New Brunswick, New Jersey is facing off against Blair Hunter from Warner Robins, Georgia in our final Swiss Round Feature Match. This is going to be an intense one. Pamornsut and Hunter are both currently 7-2 in the tournament, so each of them is relying on a victory in this round to get them into the Top 32. Pamornsut is using a popular Deck that uses Tearlaments, Spright, Danger!, and P.U.N.K. monsters, whereas Hunter is using a more streamlined Spright Deck that uses Frogs to Summon Toadally Awesome. We’ve seen both types of Decks win many times throughout the weekend, but only one of them can win in this final Swiss Rounds. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Hunter started off Duel 1 by activating Spright Starter in his Main Phase and Special Summoning Spright Blue from his Deck. He activated its effect, and Pamornsut Chained the effect of the Tearlaments Havnis in his hand. He Special Summoned it and sent 3 cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard, including a Tearlaments Scheiren. Hunter added Spright Red to his hand with Blue’s effect, and Pamornsut activated the effect of Scheiren; but Hunter Chained the effect of Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion stop Scheiren! Next, Hunter activated Triple Tactics Talents! He looked at Pamornsut’s hand of Danger! Nessie!, Primeval Planet Perlereino, Emergency Teleport, and Tearlaments Reinoheart, and returned Perlereino to Pamornsut’s Deck. Next, Hunter Special Summoned Spright Jet and activated its effect to add Spright Smashers to his hand. He Xyz Summoned Gigantic Spright next and used its effect to Special Summon Swap Frog. He sent Ronintoadin to his Graveyard with Swap Frog’s effect and then Link Summoned Spright Elf. He used its effect to Special Summon Swap Frog and then sent another Swap Frog from his Deck to his Graveyard. He Special Summoned Ronintoadin back to his field and then Xyz Summoned Toadally Awesome. He Special Summoned Spright Red from his hand and then Set 2 cards to his back row before passing.
Pamornsut drew Spright Jet and then Hunter Special Summoned Swap Frog from his Deck in the Standby Phase with the effect of Toadally Awesome. In Main Phase 1, Pamornsut activated Emergency Teleport to Special Summon Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin from his Deck. Pamornsut paid 600 Life Points to activate its effect and Pamornsut used his Toadally Awesome’s effect to negate and destroy Ze Amin. He used his Toadally Awesome’s effect in the Graveyard to return Swap Frog to his hand and then used the effect of Spright Elf to Special Summon Toadally Awesome back. Next, Pamornsut activated the effect of his Danger! Nessie! and Hunter used his Toadally Awesome’s effect to negate it by sending a Swap Frog from his hand to his Graveyard. Pamornsut Normal Summoned Reinoheart next and activated its effect, and Hunter Chained the effect of Spright Red by Tributing a Swap Frog to negate Reinoheart’s effect. Reinoheart attacked Spright Elf, and Hunter flipped Spright Smashers. He banished his own Spright Elf along with Reinoheart and a Spright Starter in his Graveyard. Pamornsut passed his turn with no further play.
Hunter Special Summoned Ronintoadin back from his Graveyard by banishing a Swap Frog and then activated Spright Starter. Pamornsut promptly conceded.

Duel Two
Pamornsut opened up Duel 2 with Forbidden Droplet, Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note, Danger!? Jackalope?, Tearlaments Havnis, and Tearlaments Merrli.
He activated the effect of the Jackalope in his hand and randomly discarded Deer Note. He Special Summoned the Jackalope and drew Danger! Nessie!. He activated Nessie’s effect, this time randomly discarding Merrli. He Special Summoned Nessie and drew a card. Next, he activated the effect of Foxy Tune by sending Havnis to the Graveyard. He Special Summoned Ze Amin and then used Havnis’s effect to Fusion Summon Tearlaments Kitkallos. He used Kitkallos’s effect to add Tearlaments Reinoheart to his hand. Next, he sent Ze Amin and his Jackalope to the Graveyard to Link Summon Crystron Halqifibrax and activated its effect to Special Summon Shinobi Necro from his Deck. He used Kitkallos’s effect next, Special Summoning Reinoheart from his hand and sending Kitkallos to his Graveyard. Kitkallos’s effect sent the top 5 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard, including Fairy Tail – Snow, and then he used Reinoheart’s effect to send Scheiren to his Graveyard. He used Scheiren’s effect to Fusion Summon Garura, Wings of Resonant Life. Next, he Synchro Summoned Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Ruler by Tuning Garura with Shinobi Necro. He drew a card with Garura’s effect and then added Tearlaments Merrli to his hand with the effect of Chaos Ruler. Pamornsut Link Summoned Spright Elf next, and used its effect to Special Summon Necro Shinobi. He then Tuned it with Chaos Ruler to Synchro Summon Baronne de Fleur. He Special Summoned Chaos Ruler from his Graveyard with its effect next, banishing Shinobi Necro from his Graveyard in the process, and then used Shinobi Necro’s effect to Special Summon it. He Link Summoned Curious, the Lightsworn Dominion next, and used Curious’s effect to send Eradicator Epidemic Virus to his Graveyard. He then sent the top 3 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard with the rest of Curious’s effect. Pamornsut Normal Summoned Merrli next, and used its effect to send the top 3 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard including Tearlaments Sulliek. He used Sulliek’s effect to add Scheiren to his hand. Next, he banished 7 cards from his Graveyard to Special Summon Fairy Tail – Snow. He Sent Curious and Snow to the Graveyard to Link Summon Knightmare Gryphon and then used his Gryphon’s effect. He discarded Scheiren and Set Eradicator Epidemic Virus from his Graveyard to his field. Next, Pamornsut used Snow’s effect again to Special Summon it back from his Graveyard by banishing 7 more cards. He then Xyz Summoned Gigantic Spright and Special Summoned Blue from his Deck with its effect. He used Blue’s effect to add Jet to his hand and then sent Blue and Snow to the Graveyard to Link Summon Spright Elf.
Hunter drew a card and Pamornsut flipped Eradicator Epidemic Virus by Tributing Gigantic Spright in his Draw Phase, declaring Spells!
Rather than reveal his hand, Hunter conceded. The third and final Duel will determine which Duelist advances to the Top 32!
Duel Three
Hunter started off Duel 3 by Normal Summoning Swap Frog and using its effect to send Ronintoadin from his Deck to his Graveyard.
He Special Summoned Spright Blue from his hand next, and used its effect to add Spright Jet to his hand. Next, he Special Summoned Spright Jet and used its effect to add Spright Smashers to his hand. He combined Swap Frog with Blue to Xyz Summon Gigantic Spright and used its effect to Special Summon Spright Red from his Deck. Next, he Link Summoned Spright Elf and used its effect to Special Summon Swap Frog. He used his Frog’s effect to send a Swap Frog from his Deck to his Graveyard and then banished it to Special Summon Ronintoadin. Next, he Xyz Summoned Toadally Awesome by combining Ronintoadin with Swap Frog and Set 2 cards to his back row.
Pamornsut opened up Duel 3 with Forbidden Droplet, Tearlaments Reinoheart, Tearlaments Scheiren, and two copies of Emergency Teleport. He drew Perlereino in his Draw Phase and then Hunter activated the effect of his Toadally Awesome in the Standby Phase. Pamornsut Chained Emergency Teleport, then Chained another Emergency Teleport, and finally Chained Forbidden Droplet! He sent his two Emergency Teleports from his field to his Graveyard along with a Scheiren in his hand, negating the effects of all of Hunter’s monsters and halving their ATK! He Special Summoned Ze Amin and PSY-Framegear Gamma from his Deck with his Emergency Teleports and then Hunter flipped Spright Smashers. He banished Gigantic Spright from his Graveyard and Elf from his field to banish Ze Amin. In Main Phase 1, Pamornsut activated Primeval Planet Perlereino. He added Havnis from his Deck to his hand and then Normal Summoned Reinoheart. He activated its effect, and Hunter negated it by flipping Infinite Impermanence. Next, Pamornsut sent Reinoheart and Gamma to his Graveyard to Link Summon Halqifibrax and used its effect to Special Summon Shinobi Necro from his Deck. He sent Halqifibrax and Necro to the Graveyard to Link Summon Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy and used its effect to Special Summon Spright Blue from Hunter’s Graveyard! He used Blue’s effect to add Jet to his hand and then Special Summoned Jet. He activated Jet’s effect to add Spright Smashers to his hand and then combined Dharc with Blue to Xyz Summon Gigantic Spright. He used Gigantic Spright’s effect to Special Summon Tearlaments Merrli from his Deck and used Merrli’s effect to send the top 3 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he Link Summoned Spright Elf and used its effect to Special Summon Crystron Halqifibrax from his Graveyard. In his Battle Phase, he attacked Spright Red with Gigantic Spright to destroy it, then attacked and destroyed Toadally Awesome with Spright Elf, and attacked directly with Crystron Halqifibrax. Hunter used the effect of his fallen Toadally Awesome to add a Swap Frog from his Graveyard to his hand. Pamornsut Set Spright Smashers before passing.
Hunter Normal Summoned Swap Frog and used its effect to send a Swap Frog from his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he Special Summoned Ronintoadin from his Graveyard by banishing a Swap Frog. Hunter Link Summoned Spright Elf next, and activated its effect to Special Summon Toadally Awesome. Pamornsut Chained the effect of the Havnis in his hand to Special Summon it and then Chained his Spright Elf’s effect to Special Summon Merrli from his Graveyard. Pamornsut sent a Scheiren to his Graveyard with Merrli’s effect and used it to Fusion Summon Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart! He made Kaleido-Heart’s effect Chain Link 1 and Perlereino’s effect Chain Link 2, resolving both effects. He Fusion Summoned a Kitkallos with a Havnis’s effect and then used a Merrli’s effect to Summon Predaplant Dragostapelia. Next, Hunter Special Summoned Ronintoadin from his Graveyard by banishing another Swap Frog. He then used Triple Tactics Talents, and Pamornsut Chained Spright Smashers – but time in the round was called!
Pamornsut was up 8000 Life Points to 6200 Life Points. With no way to deal damage or gain Life Points in his Main Phase, Hunter offered the handshake in concession.
After time in the round is called during a complicated game state, Parmornsut wins as a result of having higher Life Points. Pakawat Parmornsut will be moving on to the Top 32!
