Round 6 Feature Match: Chancy Wigglestove vs. Raymond Dai
Chancy Wigglestove from Vancouver is Dueling against Raymond Dai from Detroit, Michigan! Both of these Duelists are currently undefeated with perfect 5-0 records. Raymond Dai competed in the World Championship in 2019 after getting 2nd place at the WCQ, made Top 8 at YCS Secaucus in 2018, and most recently made Top 32 of YCS Hartford in May of 2022. Now he’s looking to add a YCS victory to his list of accomplishments. Chancy Wigglestove started Dueling competitively in 2011 and after a hiatus from Dueling to focus on work is now back and looking for a YCS victory. Duel One
Wigglestove opened up Duel 1 with Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Effect Veiler, Spright Starter, Called by the Grave, and Spright Jet.
He activated Spright Starter in his Draw Phase to Summon Spright Blue and gave up 1100 Life Points to do it. He activated its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. In his Main Phase, he Special Summoned Spright Jet and used its effect to add Spright Starter to his hand. Next, he combined his 2 monsters to Xyz Summon Gigantic Spright and used its effect. He detached Spright Blue to Special Summon Swap Frog from his Deck and used its effect to send Ronintoadin from his Deck to his Graveyard. He sent Swap Frog and Gigantic Spright to the Graveyard to Summon Spright Elf and then used his Elf to Special Summon Swap Frog. He used its effect to send a Swap Frog from his Deck to his Graveyard and then banished it from his Graveyard to Summon Ronintoadin. Next, he combined Swap Frog with Ronintoadin to Summon Toadally Awesome linked to Spright Elf. He Set Called by the Grave and Spright Starter to his back row before passing.
Dai drew a card and Wigglestove Special Summoned Dupe Frog from his Deck in the Standby Phase with Toadally Awesome’s effect. Dai activated Dark Ruler No More in the Main Phase to negate the effects of all face-up monsters on Wigglestove’s field! Next, Wigglestove flipped Spright Starter to Summon Spright Red from his Deck, and Dai activated another copy of Dark Ruler No More to negate its effect too! Dai activated Pot of Prosperity next, banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck to excavate the top 6 cards of his Deck. He added Exosister Sophia to his hand and returned the other revealed cards to the bottom of his Deck. Next, he Summoned Exosister Stella. He activated its effect, and lost his Stella to Wigglestove’s Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit. Dai Special Summoned Sophia from his hand and then paid 800 Life Points to activate Exosister Pax. He got Exosister Irene and Special Summoned it to his field. He Xyz Summoned Exosister Kaspitell next and detached an Xyz Material from it to activate its effect; but Wigglestove Chained the effect of the Effect Veiler in his hand to negate it! Dai attacked Spright Elf with Kaspitell to destroy it, but didn’t inflict any damage due to the effect of Dark Ruler No More.
Wigglestove drew a card and then used his Toadally Awesome’s effect in the Standby Phase to Summon Swap Frog from his Deck. He Special Summoned Spright Carrot from his hand and then sent Swap Frog and Carrot to the Graveyard to Link Summon Spright Elf. He used his Elf’s effect to Special Summon Spright Blue from his Graveyard and then used Blue’s effect to add Spright Pixies to his hand. He Special Summoned a Ronintoadin from his Graveyard next by banishing Swap Frog and then Xyz Summoned Daigusto Phoenix. He used its effect so that it could attack twice and then combined his Spright Elf and Dupe Frog to Summon Gigantic Spright. He used Gigantic Spright’s effect to Special Summon Spright Jet and used Jet’s effect to add Starter to his hand. He attacked with Daigusto Phoenix and used the effect of his Pixies to increase his Daigusto Phoenix’s ATK. A second attack from the Daigusto Phoenix and attacks from the rest of Wigglestove’s monsters wiped out all of Dai’s Life Points!
Chancy Wigglestove overcomes Dark Ruler No More thanks to the Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit and Effect Veiler in his hand and defeats Raymond Dai and his Exosisters in Duel 1!
Duel Two
Wigglestove opened up Duel 2 with Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Ronintoadin, Dupe Frog, and 2 copies of Swap Frog.
Dai chose to go first in Duel 2 and started things off by activating the effect of the Dimensional Shifter in his hand.
He Normal Summoned Exosister Elis and then Special Summoned an Elis from his hand. He combined his monsters to Xyz Summon Exosister Kaspitell. He detached an Xyz Material to activate its effect but lost out to Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He Set a card to his back row before passing.
Wigglestove drew Spright Blue and then Normal Summoned Swap Frog. He didn’t activate its effect since any card he would send to the Graveyard would be banished by the effect of Dimensional Shifter. He Special Summoned Spright Blue from his hand next and activated its effect, but lost out to Dai’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Next, he combined his Spright Blue with Swap Frog to Xyz Summon Onibimaru Soul Sweeper. He activated its effect by detaching Swap Frog and Dai Chained Infinite Impermanence. Next, Wigglestove Special Summoned Swap Frog from his hand by discarding Dupe Frog and used his 2 monsters to Link Summon Pitknight Earlie, pointing to Exosister Kaspitell!
Dai drew a card and then attacked Earlie to destroy it. He activated his Kaspitell’s effect to add Martha to his hand and Summoned it. He Special Summoned Elis from his Deck and then Xyz Summoned Exosister Mikailis. He used its effect to add Exosister Returnia to his hand and then used the effect of Mikailis to banish Pitknight Earlie from Wigglestove’s Graveyard. Dai Xyz Summoned Exosister Magnifica in Defense Position and Set 2 cards to his back row before ending his turn.
Wigglestove drew Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and then conceded.
A rough hand for Wigglestove makes victory out of reach for him in Duel 2! The Match is pressing on to a third and final Duel!
Duel Three
Wigglestove opened up Duel 3 with Pot of Desires, Spright Carrot, and three copies of Effect Veiler!
He activated Pot of Desires to banish the top 10 cards of his Deck (including his 1 copy of Ronintoadin) and draw another Pot of Desires from his Deck along with a Spright Blue. He Normal Summoned Spright Carrot and then Special Summoned Spright Blue. He used its effect to add a Spright Jet to his hand and then Special Summoned his Jet. He used Jet’s effect to add Spright Smashers to his hand and then combined Spright Blue with Spright Jet to Xyz Summon Gigantic Spright. He activated its effect, but lost out to Infinite Impermanence. Next, he sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summoned Spright Elf and used his Elf’s effect to Special Summon Spright Carrot from his Graveyard. He Set Spright Smashers and then ended his turn.
Dai activated Infinite Impermanence in the Standby Phase to negate the Spright Elf’s effect and then used Pot of Prosperity by banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck. Wigglestove Chained the effect of his Spright Carrot to negate the effect of the Pot of Prosperity by Tributing his Elf. Dai Set a card to his back row and passed.
Wigglestove drew a card and then Normal Summoned Swap Frog. He activated its effect to send a Swap Frog from his Deck to his Graveyard and then used his 2 monsters to Xyz Summon Gigantic Spright. He activated its effect and Dai Chained Called by the Grave! He banished the Gigantic Spright from Wigglestove’s Graveyard to negate the effect of the Gigantic Spright on his field! Next, Wigglestove banished 10 more cards from the top of his Deck to activate Pot of Desires and drew Infinite Impermanence and Deep Sea Diva. He attacked with his Gigantic Spright for 1600 points of damage and then Xyz Summoned Downerd Magician followed by Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS – Sky Thunder. He Set Infinite Impermanence and then passed his turn.
Dai Special Summoned Exosister Martha from his hand and used its effect to Special Summon Elis from his Deck. Next, he combined his monsters to Xyz Summon Mikailis and used its effect to add Exosister Pax to his hand. He entered his Battle Phase and then used Mikailis’s effect to banish Zeus. Wigglestove Chained Infinite Impermanence, and Dai Chained Red Reboot from his hand! Wigglestove Set his Impermanence back down and then Set another copy from his Deck with Reboot’s effect before Zeus was banished. Mikailis attacked directly and then Dai activated Pax in Main Phase 2. He added Exosister Sophia to his hand with its effect and then Normal Summoned Exosister Stella. He activated Stella’s effect, but lost out to the first of Wigglestove’s Effect Veilers. Dai ended his turn with Stella and Mikailis on his field.
Wigglestove activated Spright Starter to Special Summon Spright Pixies from his Deck in Defense Position. He lost 1400 Life Points. Next, Wigglestove Normal Summoned Deep Sea Diva. He combined his 2 monsters to Xyz Summon Onibimaru and used Onibimaru’s effect to banish Mikailis. He attacked and destroyed Stella next, dropping Dai down to 800 Life Points.
Dai drew a card and then Set a monster. He returned Mikailis to his field in the End Phase.
Wigglestove Summoned Spright Red and then used Onibimaru to banish Mikailis again. Wigglestove attacked and destroyed a face-down Sophia with his Onibimaru and then attacked directly with Spright Red. Spright Red’s 1200 ATK finished Dai off!
Chancy Wigglestove recovers from a hand of Spright Carrot, Pot of Desires, and three Effect Veilers to win Duel 3 and advance with a 6-0 record!
