Raymond Dai from Detroit, Michigan is Dueling against Cristian Urena from Reading, Pennsylvania in a Match that will determine which Duelist will advance to the Finals of YCS Niagara Falls! Both Raymond Dai and Cristian Urena finished the Swiss Rounds with an 8-2 record and made it into the Top 4 with completely different strategies. Dai used his Exosister Deck to advance to this point in the tournament, whereas Urena used a Tearlament strategy. Now they’re facing off, and one of them is about to be eliminated. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Dai opened up Duel 1 with Exosister Martha, Dimension Shifter, Called By the Grave, and 2 copies of Dark Ruler No More.

He activated the effect of his Dimension Shifter and then Special Summoned Martha. He used its effect to Special Summon Exosister Elis and then Xyz Summoned Exosister Mikailis. He used Mikailis’s effect to add Exosister Vadis from his Deck to his hand. He Set Vadis and a Dark Ruler No More before passing.

Urena activated Pot of Desires and banished the top 10 cards of his Deck face-down to draw 2 cards. Next, he Normal Summoned Fairy Tail – Snow and used its effect to put Mikailis face-down. He attacked and destroyed Mikailis with Snow. Next, he Set 2 cards to his back row and passed his turn.

Dai drew a card and then activated Exosister Vadis in his Main Phase by paying 800 Life Points. He Special Summoned Exosister Sophia and Exosister Irene from his Deck with its effect. Urena flipped Paleozoic Dinomischus and then Chained a second Dinomischus to banish both Exosisters and discard Tearlaments Merrli and Tearlaments Scheiren from his hand. He activated their effects, but lost out on Merrli’s effect to Called by the Grave. He fused Scheiren with a D.D. Crow in his hand to Summon Mudragon of the Swamp in Attack Position and then Dai passed his turn.

Urena attacked directly with Snow and Mudragon, dropping Dai down to 3450 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, he Xyz Summoned Time Thief Redoer.

Dai drew Exosister Returnia and Urena used his Redoer’s effect in the Standby Phase to attach a Martha from the top of Dai’s Deck to it as an Xyz Material. Dai Set the Returnia and then Normal Summoned Stella.

Urena drew a card and then attached Dimension Shifter to his Redoer from the top of Dai’s Deck. He Summoned Havnis next, and then attacked Stella with Redoer. Dai flipped Exosister Returnia and paid 800 Life Points. He targeted Time Thief Redoer to try to banish it. Urena Chained the effect of a Dinomischus to Summon it from the Graveyard and then Chained Redoer’s effect to banish Redoer from the Duel. Next, Dai used Stella’s effect to Xyz Summon Mikailis over it. Urena activated the effect of Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill to try to negate the effects of Mikailis, and Dai Chained Mikailis’s effect to banish Havnis from the field. Urena promptly conceded.

Raymond Dai quickly wins the first Duel with his Exosisters!

Duel Two

Urena started off Duel 2 by Special Summoning Scheiren and sending Snow from his hand to his Graveyard.

He sent the top 3 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard with its effect: 2 Cosmic Cyclones and an Infinite Impermanence. He Set a card to his back row and passed, giving off a sigh of disappointment.

Dai opened up Duel 2 with Necrovalley, Pot of Prosperity, Infinite Impermanence, and 2 copies of Exosister Martha. He drew Dimension Shifter for his turn and activated its effect. Next, he activated Necrovalley. He activated the effect of a Martha in his hand next, and Special Summoned it to the field along with an Elis from his Deck. Urena revealed Effect Veiler and Droll & Lock Bird from his hand, as well as a face-down Sulliek, and immediately conceded.
