Round 6 Feature Match: Ash Zheng vs. Davide Magri

December 10th, 2022

For our Round 6 Feature Match, we’ve got two Duelists from across Europe. The power of Remote Duels is amazing! Ash Zheng is from the United Kingdom, and is putting his faith in Tearlaments this weekend. He’s up against Davide Magri, an Italian Duelist backed up by Exosisters.

Duel 1

Magri won the die roll and chose to play first. He started off with Pot of Prosperity, banishing six cards to add Exosister Vadis. He Normal Summoned Exosister Stella, which Special Summoned Exosister Sophia, then he Xyz Summoned Exosister Kaspitell. With its effect, he added Exosister Martha to his hand. He Special Summoned Martha, which brought Exosister Elis to the field. He played Exosister Mikailis. Mikailis’s effect added Exosister Returnia to his hand. He then used both Xyz Monsters to play Exosisters Magnifica in Defense Position. He Set two cards in his back row.

Zheng started with Tearlaments Scheiren from his hand, but Magri had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring to negate it. Zheng followed that by Normal Summoning Tearlaments Merrli, which sent another Scheiren to the Graveyard. Magri responded with Vadis to bring Exosister Irene and Sophia to the field. Zheng used Scheiren’s effect to play Tearlaments Kitkallos. Kitkallos’s effect activated when Summoned, and Magri used the effects of both Irene and Sophia since Zheng had moved a card out of his Graveyard. Magri Xyz Summoned Exosister Asophiel and Kaspitell, and Kaspitell then put Tearlaments Havnis in Zheng’s hand. Asophiel and Kaspitell activated their effects in a new Chain, and Zheng responded with Havnis, sending three more cards to the Graveyard, but couldn’t use any of them. He used Havnis and Merrli to play Spright Elf. He sent Kitkallos to attack, and Magri flipped Exosister Returnia to banish both of Zheng’s monsters! Zheng passed with an empty field.

Magri turned Magnifica to Attack Position, sending it to attack twice. Kaspitell and Asophiel wiped out the last of Zheng’s Life Points!

Duel 2

Zheng started this time, discarding Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard to Special Summon Keldo the Sacred Protector. Kelbek’s effect activated, but Magri had Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Zheng Normal Summoned another Keldo, and Xyz Summoned Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir in Defense Position. He Set one back row card.

Magri started with Pot of Prosperity once again, banishing 6 cards from his Extra Deck to add Dark Ruler No More to his hand! He played it to negate Bagooska, then Normal Summoned Exosister Sophia. He Special Summoned Exosister Elis, and Xyz Summoned Exosister Kaspitell. Its effect added Martha to his hand. He used Martha’s effect to Special Summon another Elis, and used both to play Mikailis. It searched for Returnia. Mikailis banished Zheng’s Set Tearlaments Cryme. He used both of his monsters to play Magnifica and destroyed Bagooska in battle. He Set three back row cards.

Zheng tried to enter his Battle Phase, signalling that he had Evenly Matched. Before the end of the Main Phase, Magri flipped Exosister Pax to add Martha to his hand. Zheng went on to the end of the Battle Phase, and didn’t activate anything – he had been bluffing. He Set a trap in his back row and passed. In the End Phase, Magri used Magnifica to banish it.

Magri flipped Vadis, putting Irene and Sophia on the field. He Xyz Summoned Mikailis. That, along with Magnifica’s two attacks, was enough to end the Duel!

Davide Magri wins, with Exosisters!
