Jarrid Centamore from New Jersey used one of the most interesting Decks in the tournament this weekend, and now he’s in the Top 16 with his Naturia Runick Deck. He’s just 4 Matches away from using that Deck to claim a YCS Championship title. But now, he’s up against Cezar Lopez Coscia from Brazil and his Floowandereeze Deck. One of these Duelists is about to be eliminated, while the other will advance to the Top 8. It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Lopez Coscia started off Duel 1 by banishing 6 random cards from his Extra Deck to activate Pot of Extravagance. He Chained the effect of Dimension Shifter and then drew 2 cards. He activated Floowandereeze and the Magnificent Map and then used its effect to reveal Floowandereeze & Eglen from his hand. He banished Floowandereeze & Robina from his Deck, then Summoned Eglen, and used the effects of Robina and Eglen. He returned Robina to his hand and then added Floowandereeze & Empen from his Deck to his hand. He Normal Summoned Robina next, and used its effect to add Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds to his hand. He Normal Summoned it and then Tribute Summoned Empen. He used the effects of the banished Eglen and his Empen to add Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town to his hand and return Eglen from his banished zone to his hand. Next, he Set 3 cards to his back row and passed his turn.

Centamore entered his Battle Phase and then activated Runick Freezing Curses to negate the effect of the Barrier Statue and banish the top 3 cards of Lopez Coscia’s Deck. He activated the effect of a Bystial Druiswurm in his hand by targeting the Dimension Shifter in the Graveyard, but Lopez Coscia Chained Harpie’s Feather Storm to stop it. In Main Phase 2, Centamore activated Runick Tip and to add Runick Fountain to his hand and banish the top card of Lopez Coscia’s Deck. He activated Runick Fountain next. Lopez Coscia flipped Dreaming Town to Summon Eglen and used the effects of Eglen and Robina. He returned Robina to his hand and added Raiza the Mega Monarch to his hand with Eglen’s effect. He Summoned Robina next, and used its effect to add Floowandereeze & Stri to his hand. He Tribute Summoned Raiza the Mega Monarch and used its effect to target both on-field Field Spell Cards and the Dimension Shifter in his Graveyard. Centamore immediately conceded and the Duelists moved on to Duel 2!

Duel Two

Centamore started off Duel 2 by activating Runick Destruction to Special Summon a monster from his Extra Deck. Lopez Coscia Chained the effect of Dimension Shifter. Centamore Special Summoned Hugin the Runick Wings from his Extra Deck and activated its effect by discarding Naturia Blessing. He added Runick Fountain from his Deck to his hand and then ended his turn with only the Hugin on his field.

Lopez Coscia activated Floowandereeze and the Magnificent Map and then used its effect to reveal Robina from his hand. He banished Eglen from his Deck and then Summoned Robina. He used the effects of Eglen and Robina to return the banished Eglen to his hand and add Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds from his Deck to his hand. He Summoned it and then Normal Summoned Floowandereeze & Eglen. He used Eglen’s effect to add Floowandereeze & Empen to his hand and then Tributed Eglen and Robina to Summon Empen. He used the effects of Robina and Empen to return the banished Robina to his hand and add Floowandereeze and the Dreaming Town from his Deck to his hand. He attacked and destroyed Hugin with his Barrier Statue and then Empen attacked Centamore’s Life Points directly. Lopez Coscia Set 3 cards to his back row before passing his turn.

Centamore drew a card and then activated Twin Twisters in the Draw Phase by discarding Naturia Sacred Tree. He targeted and destroyed Map and the face-down Dreaming Town. Next, he activated the effect of Sacred Tree to add Naturia Camellia to his hand. He Normal Summoned it and activated its effect to send another Sacred Tree to his Graveyard. He activated the second Sacred Tree’s effect to add Naturia Blessing to his hand. Next, he activated Dark Ruler No More! He negated the effects of the Barrier Statue and the Empen! He activated Runick Fountain next and then activated Runick Freezing Curses to Special Summon Geri the Runick Fangs. He used the effect of the Fountain to return Freezing Curses to his Deck and draw a card. Next, he combined Geri with Camellia to Xyz Summon Number 41: Bagooska the Terribly Tired Tapir. He Set 2 cards to his back row, skipped his Battle Phase due to the effects of his Runick cards, and then ended his turn.

Lopez Coscia activated Harpie’s Feather Duster! Centamore’s 2 Set cards and his Fountain were destroyed! Next, he activated Book of Moon to put Bagooska face-down. He Normal Summoned Robina next, and activated the effects of his banished Eglen and his Robina. He returned Eglen to his hand and then added a monster from his Deck to his hand with Robina’s effect. He Summoned Eglen next and used its effect to add Raiza the Mega Monarch to his hand. He Tributed Robina and Eglen to Summon the Raiza! He returned Bagooska to the Extra Deck, Feather Duster to the top of his Deck, and the Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds to his hand. Finally, he attacked directly with Empen and Raiza to wipe out Centamore’s remaining Life Points!
