Duel One

Urena started off the first Duel by using the effect of Keldo the Sacred Protector to Special Summon it by discarding Agido the Ancient Sentinel. He added Mudora the Sword Oracle to his hand and then used Agido’s effect to send the top 5 cards of each Deck to the Graveyard. He sent Tearlaments Reinoheart, Tearlaments Scheiren, and another Agido to his own Graveyard, and Wan sent 2 copies of Mudora among other cards to his Graveyard. Urena activated the effect of his Reinoheart, but Wan Chained the effect of his Mudora to return Reinoheart to the Deck along with 2 other cards from the Graveyards. Next, Urena activated Triple Tactics Talents to look at Wan’s hand. Wan revealed Tearlaments Havnis, Tearlaments Scheiren, Tearlaments Sulliek, Bystial Magnamhut, and Bystial Druiswurm. Urena returned the Magnamhunt to Wan’s Deck and then Special Summoned Scheiren from his hand by sending Mudora to the Graveyard. He sent a Tearlaments Havnis from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard with its effect and tried to use its effect, but Wan Chained the effect of Druiswurm to banish Havnis and Special Summon the Druiswurm. Next, Urena combined Scheiren with Keldo to Xyz Summon Time Thief Redoer. He activated its effect to banish it until the End Phase and Wan Chained Havnis’s effect from his hand to Special Summon the Havnis and send 3 cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. Urena used the effect of a Scheiren and Chained the effect of a Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard to send 5 more cards from the top of each player’s Deck to the Graveyard. Urena resolved Scheiren’s effect to Special Summon Tearlaments Kitkallos and then used the effects of Kitkallos, Tearlaments Scream, and Tearlaments Sulliek in a new Chain. Wan used the effects of some of his cards as well, and Urena Chained the effect of the Mudora in his Graveyard to stop Wan’s effects. Urena added Tearlaments Merrli to his hand and then used Kitkallos’s effect, targeting the Kitkallos. He Special Summoned Reinoheart from his Graveyard and sent Kitkallos to the Graveyard in its place. He sent 5 cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. Next, he used the effect of a Tearlaments Merrli to Fusion Summon Tearlaments Kaleido-Heart and used its effect to return Druiswurm to Wan’s Deck. He Set 2 cards and then returned Time Thief Redoer to his field during the End Phase.

Wan drew a card and Urena used the effect of his Redoer in the Standby Phase to attach a Druiswurm to it from Wan’s Deck. Wan activated Scheiren’s effect and Urena used Tearlaments Cryme by sending Merrli to the Graveyard. Kaleido-Heart’s effect then returned Wan’s on-field Havnis to his Deck. Urena tried to use Merrli’s effect to Fusion Summon a monster, and Wan conceded before Havnis’s effect could resolve.

Cristian Urena is one win away from the Finals!

He sent Rulkallos to the Graveyard and then Special Summoned it back to the field with its effect. Next, Wan used Kitkallos’s effect to exchange it with the Reinoheart in his Graveyard and send cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard. He used the effect of a Merrli to Fusion Summon a Kaleido-Heart and used Kaliedo-Heart’s effect to return Rulkallos to Urena’s Extra Deck. In the End Phase, Wan returned Blazing Cartesia to his hand with its effect.

Urena activated Primeval Planet Perlereino to start off his first turn! He added Tearlaments Reinoheart to his hand and then activated the effect of the Scheiren in his hand to Special Summon it by discarding Havnis. He sent the top 3 cards of his Deck to his Graveyard and activated the effect of Havnis. He activated the effects of Kitkallos and his Perlereino to destroy Wan’s Kaleido-Heart and add Tearlaments Sulliek from his Deck to his hand. Wan used the effect of Kaleido-Heart to try to Special Summon it back from the Graveyard, but Urena Chained the effect of a Mudora in his Graveyard to shuffle Kaleido-Heart and 2 more of Wan’s cards back into his Deck! In his Battle Phase, direct attacks from Mudora, Reinoheart, and Kitkallos dropped Wan down to 1700 Life Points. Urena Xyz Summoned Abyss Dweller in Main Phase 2 and then Set a card to his back row before passing his turn. In the End Phase, Wan Special Summoned a Druiswurm to his field by banishing a DARK monster from his Graveyard.

Wan Normal Summoned Mudora and then attacked Abyss Dweller with Druiswurmto destroy it and inflict 300 points of damage to Urena. In the End Phase, Urena banished Mudora from his Graveyard to shuffle Reinoheart, Kelbek, and Agido from his Graveyard into his Deck. That allowed him to use the effect of Perlereino to destroy Wan’s Mudora. Next, he used Sulliek to send Kitkallos to the Graveyard and negate the effect of Druiswurm. He sent 5 cards from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard, and got a bunch of effects to activate, including ones that sent 5 additional cards from his Deck to his Graveyard! He resolved his effects one at a time, and when the dust settled he had Fusion Summoned Kitkallos and Rulkallos. Wan, still under the effect of Abyss Dweller until Urena’s turn starts, immediately conceded. With only 1700 Life Points left, he knew it was over.
