While both teams started off with a Round 1 loss, they’re back and ready to Duel! Representing Team Nekogals is Gage Poljak from Pittsburg with his P.U.N.K. Gold Pride – Deck, full of cards from Photon Hypernova! He’s up against Surya Kumaraguru hailing from Southern California. Kamaraguru is here piloting Dinosaurs with the newly unlimited True King Lithosagym, the Disaster. This is a match sure to be packed with action.

It’s time to Duel!

Duel 1

Poljak opened with a hand of Gold Pride – Captain Carrie, Gagaku-P.U.N.K. Wa Gon, Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note, Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring and Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai. Kamaraguru was up first and led the Duel with Fossil Dig! Dig searched Miscellaneousaurus, prompting Poljak to give it a refresher read. Kamaraguru used the effect of Miscellaneousaurus to make his monsters impervious to Poljack’s effects before using its effect banishing itself from the Graveyard to attempt to Special Summon a monster from his Deck, only to be met with Poljak’s Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring!

Pressing forward, Kamaraguru Summoned Souleating Oviraptor and sent Giant Rex to the grave with its effect, and with that, his turn ended and Poljak was up.

Poljack drew Joruri-P.U.N.K. Dangerous Gabu for turn, pondering his plays for a moment, knowing that his Deck had a flurry of available plays and wanting to map out his turn.  His first action was to Summon Gaguku-P.U.N.K. Wa Gon, activating its effect paying 600 and adding P.U.N.K. Jam Extreme Session to his hand. Jam Extreme session was activated next, followed up with Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note revealing itself and Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai, Summoning the Sharakusai to his field.

Since he has fewer Life Points than Kamaraguru, Poljak was able to Summon Gold Pride – Captain Carrie from his hand for free and search for and add Gold Pride – Start Your Engines! to his hand which means he has a disruption in hand already. Sharakusai was used next to Fusion Summon Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Rising Carp using his on-field P.U.N.K. monsters.

He pondered a moment before deciding to activate Rising Carp’s effect to Summon 2 non-Level 8 P.U.N.K. monsters from his Deck. He chose Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin and Deer Note, Ze Amin’s effect paid another 600 Life Points to add Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune to his hand!

Thanks to paying those Life Points, Jam Extreme Session allowed Poljack to draw a card off of its effect, and it got him a free copy of Nibiru, the Primal Being. Next up, Poljak Synchro Summoned with all 3 of his on-field monsters to make a Psychic End Punisher, Deer Note then targeted Rising Carp, Summoning it back giving him yet another monster! Foxy Tune was activated, sending itself and his newly drawn Nibiru to Summon Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider from the Deck. Her effect couldn’t be used due to drawing the Dangerous Gabu already but that didn’t matter, as Poljak Summoned his Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Amazing Dragon using Rising Carp and Madame Spider. Amazing Dragon’s effect was used to return Souleating Oviraptor to hand, Rising Carp’s effect gave Amazing Dragon 2 attacks, and that was the Duel!

During the Side Decking process, Poljak and Kamaraguru conferred with their teammates heavily, showing the teamwork in action, and making sure nobody was feeling unsupported in this tense match!

Duel 2

Kamaraguru was up first, and Poljak drew a hand of Joruri-P.U.N.K. Dangerous Gabu, Gold Pride – Captain Carrie, Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin, Kashtira Fenrir, and Noh-P.U.N.K. Foxy Tune. Not a defensive card in sight! Karamaguru led with Lost World and Normal Summoned his Souleating Oviraptor, using Lost World as Chain Link 2 giving Poljak a Token, while adding Miscellaneousaurus to his hand thanks to Oviraptor. Miscellaneousaurus was used next, and then Oviraptor’s effect was used targeting Poljak’s Juregg Token to destroy it, but the Token was spared by Lost World sending Babycerasaurus from Deck, which Summoned another Babycerasaurus from the Deck. Miscellaneousaurus was banished next, Summoning Animadorned Archosaur who destroyed the on-field Babycerasaurus to add Double Evolution Pill, and then the Babycerasaurus Summoned another Babyscerasaurus. Dragonic Diagram was used next, destroying Babycerasaurus and adding True King Lithosagym, the Disaster, and triggering the 3rd baby to Summon Scrap Raptor next. Kamaraguru was just firing away on all cylinders, using Scrap Raptor to destroy itself and Summoning Scrap Chimera to Summon back to the Raptor. Animadorned was used to Link Summon Linkuriboh, before linking that with the Raptor to make Scrap Wyvern!

(During this time, one of Poljak’s teammates won his match, putting the Nekogals up 1 match to 0!)

Scrap Wyvern was used next bringing back Scrap Raptor and destroying the Dragonic Diagram, Kamaguru then overlaid the Chimera and Raptor into Gallant Granite and adding Nemesis Keystone to his hand! Keystone was activated Summoning itself Double Evolution Pill was next, Summoning Ultimate Conductor Tyranno in Defense Position. True King Lithosagym, the Disaster was Summoned and banished 3 cards from Poljak’s Extra Deck. In the End Phase, Nemesis Keystone added itself back to his hand, ending an INCREDIBLE turn!

Poljak drew Gold Pride – Start Your Engines! for turn, and had to immediately go into the tank, considering his options in the face of so many disruptions. He began by Summoning Noh-P.U.N.K. Ze Amin, prompting Kamaraguru to use Ultimate Conductor Tyranno to destroy Lithosagym and placing it face-down. Foxy Tune was used next, sending itself and Kashtira Fenrir to Summon Sharakusai from his Deck.

Sharakusai was used next combining with the Ze Amin to make a Rising Carp, which Tributed itself to Summon another Ze Amin and a Deer Note from his Deck, Ze Amin was used next paying 600 more to add Noh-P.U.N.K. Ogre Dance to his hand, giving him more potential follow up options.

Poljak considered his options for a moment, knowing this turn could be make or break, before Summoning Gold Pride – Captain Carrie in Defense Position due to the Life Point differential thanks to his P.U.N.K. cards. On that, Kamaraguru used Nibiru, the Primal Being! The Token with 8300 Attack Points and 5900 Defense Points was certainly Summoned in Defense Position. (During this time, Poljak’s other teammate lost! It was all down to this match, winner takes all). Deer Note was triggered though, bringing back Ze Amin and setting his 2 traps, passing turn over to Kamaraguru.

Kamaraguru was up next and used the freshly drawn Fossil Dig to grab himself a copy of Miscellaneousaurus to hand that was recycled before. Miscellaneousaurus sent itself, then banished itself alongside 3 other dinosaurs to Summon Soul Eating Oviraptor from his Deck! Oviraptor grabbed him a copy of Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, which was then Summoned banishing 2 dinosaurs. Nemesis Keystone was used again, recycling Miscellaneousaurus and giving him yet another body. Keystone and Oviraptor were linked into Pentastag and that triggered Gold pride – Start Your Engines!

He revealed 2 Gold Pride – Leon and a copy of Gold Pride – Nytro Head, Summoning Gold Pride – Leon! Pentastag was destroyed, Leon Summoned Captain Carrie back from the Graveyard, and then Synchro Summoned into Gold Pride – Star Leon. Star Leon gained 3000 attack targeting Nibiru and destroying it, during the Battle Phase Kamaraguru attacked the Token with Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, prompting a Joruri-P.U.N.K. Dangerous Gabu from Poljak and that was Match due to the Life Points and the card advantage. His team celebrated with a loud “Poggers!” post-game and they were moving on 1-1.
