QQ: The Biggest Cards Of The Weekend?

May 27th, 2023

QQ stands for Quick Questions! We asked a few Duelists on the floor for their opinion on some fun topics over the weekend, including this one: what card do you think will have a big impact this weekend? Here’s what our interviewees had to say…

Nibiru, the Primal Being, because of the results from YCS Chile. With Kashtira on the rise, Nibiru naturally gets better.” – Raphael Neven

Triple Tactics Talent, with how many interactive monster effects there are, it’s something you should always be aware of, but you can’t always predict they’ll have it so sometimes you can catch them off guard!” – Brian Struczewski

Vanity’s Fiend, it’s a powerful card that will be tough to answer.” – Joey Frighetto

Enemy Controller, I think it does a good job countering cards like Book of Moon and Book of Eclipse which may see a rise in popularity due to how popular Kashtira has become.” – Joe Giorlando

“I honestly have no idea, there’s so many viable Decks and tech cards that I wouldn’t be surprised if something wild came out!” – Summer Reiffe

Nibiru, the Primal Being. I think a lot of Duelists are listening to the hype that it’s not going to be played and will get caught off guard by it. Especially with how many different combos Decks have.” – Jenna Daroszewski

The answers were really varied, showing just how open the format is for competitors right now. But Nibiru, the Primal Being is an incredibly popular card this weekend, and the popularity in our short survey reflects just how front-of-mind it is for competitors here at YCS Philadelphia.
