Top 64 Feature Match: Ryan Yu vs. Dominic Couch
Dominic Couch from Houston, TX is Dueling against Ryan Yu from Toronto, Canada in this Top 64 Feature Match! Couch has 2 YCS wins, including a win at a Team YCS in Las Vegas. In that YCS, Couch’s team, Team Back for Seconds, defeated Ryan Yu’s team, Team Two World Champs and John, in the Finals. Although Yu doesn’t have a YCS win, as his team name from Team YCS Las Vegas implies, he is a World Champion. In 2017, he won the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Dragon Duel World Championship. Now Yu is hungry for a YCS victory! But Couch won’t make that easy for Yu to achieve, because he’s back for a third championship win. Only one of these Duelists can advance to the Top 32. It’s time to Duel!
Duel One
Yu opened up Duel 1 with Pot of Extravagance, Labrynth Stovie Torbie, Labrynth Labyrinth, and 2 copies of PSY-Framegear Gamma.

He activated Pot of Extravagance by banishing 6 random cards from his Extra Deck face-down and then drew Dogmatika Punishment and Terrors of the Overroot. He activated the effect of the Stovie Torbie in his hand to send it to the Graveyard and discard a Gamma, Setting Big Welcome Labrynth from his Deck. He activated Labrynth Labyrinth and then Set Punishment and Overroot face-down.
Couch Normal Summoned Kashtira Riseheart and then activated Kashtiratheosis targeting the Riseheart. Yu Chained Big Welcome Labrynth to Special Summon Lady Labrynth of the Silver Castle and used his Field Spell’s effect to destroy Riseheart. He returned Lady Labrynth to his hand as he resolved Big Welcome’s effect and then Couch ended his turn. In the End Phase, Yu activated the effect of his Lady Labrynth to Special Summon it. Couch tried to use the effect of a Gamma in his hand, and Yu Chained the effect of his own PSY-Framegear Gamma! He Special Summoned it along with a PSY-Frame Driver, negated the activation of Couch’s Gamma and destroyed it, and then Summoned his Lady Labrynth to the field. He banished Driver and Gamma in the End Phase.
Yu attacked with Lady Labrynth and passed.
Couch drew a card and passed with no cards on his field and 4 in his hand. In the End Phase, Yu activated the effect of the Big Welcome Labrynth in his Graveyard to banish it and return Lady Labrynth to his hand. Then he used the effect of the Stovie in his Graveyard to Special Summon it, and then activated the Lady Labrynth’s effect in his hand to Special Summon it back to the field. Next, he activated the effect of the Stovie on his field to Set a Big Welcome Labrynth from his Deck.
Yu drew and activated Pot of Extravagance next turn, and Couch immediately conceded.

Duel Two
Couch started off Duel 2 by activating Pressured Planet Wraitsoth and using its effect to add Scareclaw Kashtira to his hand.

He Special Summoned Kashtira Unicorn and activated Unicorn’s effect to add Kashtiratheosis to his hand. He used Kashtiratheosis to Special Summon Kashtira Fenrir and then activated Fenrir’s effect to add another Kashtira Fenrir to his hand. He Special Summoned Kashtira Riseheart from his hand next, and then combined Fenrir with Unicorn to Xyz Summon Kashtira Shangri-Ira. Next, he used Riseheart’s effect to banish Kashtira Birth from his Deck along with the top 3 cards of Yu’s Deck face-down and increase Riseheart’s Level to 7. He made one of Yu’s Spell & Trap Card Zones unusable and then used his Planet’s effect to target his own Shangri-Ira for destruction. He protected Shangri-Ira with its effect by detaching Unicorn from it. Next, he Special Summoned Scareclaw Kashtira from his hand and banished Kashtiratheosis, adding the banished Kashtira Birth to his hand with Kashtiratheosis’s effect. He Xyz Summoned Number 89: Diablosis the Mind Hacker, then used Birth’s effect to Special Summon Unicorn. He Normal Summoned Fenrir and then Xyz Summoned another Shangri-Ira. Just as he was about to use Diablosis’s effect to render Yu’s remaining Spell & Trap Card Zones unusable in conjunction with the two copies of Shangri-Ira, Yu activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being! Couch lost all of his monsters, and received an Attack Position Primal Being Token with 2800 ATK and 7200 DEF. Couch Set a card to his back row and then passed his turn.
Yu drew Arianna the Labrynth Servant and added it to his hand of Pot of Extravagance, PSY-Framegear Gamma, Big Welcome Labrynth, and a second Arianna the Labrynth Servant. He activated the Extravagance and banished 6 random cards from his Extra Deck face-down to draw Stovie and Big Welcome Labrynth from his Deck. He Normal Summoned Arianna and activated its effect to add Labrynth Cooclock to his hand. He activated the effect of the Cooclock and then Set Big Welcome Labrynth and activated it immediately. He Chained the effect of the Stovie in his hand to Set Welcome Labrynth and then Special Summoned Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle. He returned Nibiru to his hand in resolving Big Welcome Labrynth’s effect. He then used the effects of Lovely Labrynth, Stovie, and Cooclock. He returned Cooclock to his hand, Special Summoned Stovie, and destroyed Couch’s Kashtira Birth. He used Lovely’s effect to Set Big Welcome Labrynth and then used Stovie and Lovely Labrynth to Synchro Summon Chaos Angel! He activated its effect to banish Couch’s face-down Kashtira Big Bang and then attacked and destroyed the Primal Being Token with Chaos Angel. A direct attack from Arianna dropped Couch down to 5900 Life Points. Yu Link Summoned Muckraker From the Underworld in Main Phase 2 by sending both of his monsters to the Graveyard, and used its effect to try to Special Summon Lovely Labrynth of the Silver Castle; but Couch activated the effect of the last card in his hand – PSY-Framegear Gamma! He negated the activation and destroyed the Muckraker while Summoning the Gamma and a Driver to the field. Gamma and Driver were banished in the End Phase.
Couch drew a card and Yu flipped Welcome Labrynth to Summon Lady Labrynth from his Deck. Next, he used Big Welcome Labrynth and Chained Lady Labrynth’s effect to Set Terrors of the Overroot. He Special Summoned Lovely Labrynth with Big Welcome’s effect, returned Lady Labrynth to his hand as the Big Welcome Labrynth resolved, and then used Lovely Labrynth’s effect to destroy the only card in Couch’s hand: Harpie’s Feather Duster. With no cards in his hand or on his field, Couch conceded.
