William Candia from Houston, TX and Wei Li from Brooklyn, NY are both accomplished Duelists that currently have 2-0  records in the Remote Duel YCS. They also have something else in common – they’re both using Dragon Link Decks this weekend! Now they’re facing off in a Feature Match that will determine which of these two Duelists can advance with a 3-0 record! It’s time to Duel!

Duel One

Li started off Duel 1 by activating Quick Launch in his Main Phase to Special Summon Rokket Tracer from his Deck. Next, he used the effect of The Bystial Lubellion to add Bystial Magnamhut to his hand. He Link Summoned Striker Dragon next and used its effect to add Boot Sector Launch to his hand. He Special Summoned Magnamhut from his hand by banishing Rokket Tracer from his Graveyard and activated Magnamhut’s effect so that he could add a Dragon from his Deck to his hand in the End Phase. Candia then activated the effect of the Magnamhut in his hand to Special Summon it by banishing The Bystial Lubellion from Li’s Graveyard and activated his Magnamhut’s on-field effect to get a Dragon from his Deck in the End Phase as well. Li sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Dragunity Knight – Romulus next, and used its effect to add Dragon Ravine to his hand. He activated it and discarded Boot Sector Launch from his hand to send another Lubellion from his Deck to his Graveyard. He Special Summoned Druiswurm from his hand next by banishing Striker Dragon from his Graveyard and Candia activiated the effect of his Bystial Saronir to Special Summon it by banishing another Lubellion from Li’s Graveyard. Next, Li sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres. He used Druiswurm’s effect to send Candia’s Magnamhut to the Graveyard and then entered his End Phase. In the End Phase, Li added a Bystial Saronir to his hand and Candia added a Starliege Seyfert to his hand with the effects of their Bystial Magnamhuts.

Candia activated the effect of the Lubellion in his hand to add Bystial Druiswurm to his hand. Next, he Special Summoned Lubellion from his Graveyard by Tributing Saronir from his field and used Saronir’s effect to send Branded Regained from his Deck to his Graveyard. He used his Lubellion’s effect to try to place a “Branded” Spell or Trap Card from his Deck in his Spell & Trap Card Zone, but lost out to Li’s Effect Veiler. Candia entered his Battle Phase and Li used the effect of his Hieratic Seals to return Lubellion to Candia’s hand. Li Special Summoned Magnamhut with the other effect of his Seals. He activated Magnamhut’s effect, but lost out to Candia’s Infinite Impermanence. Next, Candia Special Summoned Druiswurm and Magnamhut from his hand by banishing Hieratic Seal and Druiswurm from Li’s Graveyard. He used his Magnamhut’s effect to allow him to grab a Dragon in his End Phase and then attacked and destroyed Li’s Magnamhut with his Druiswurm. Magnamhut attacked directly next, dropping Li down to 5500 Life Points. In Main Phase 2, Candia combined his 2 monsters to Xyz Summon Hieratic Dragon King of Atum and used its effect by detaching Druiswurm to Special Summon Black Metal Dragon from his Deck. He sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Striker Dragon and used the effects of Striker Dragon and Black Metal Dragon to add Boot Sector Launch and Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to his hand. He Special Summoned the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon by banishing Striker Dragon, Special Summoned Druiswurm with its effect, and then Link Summoned Romulus. He used Romulus’s effect to add Dragon Ravine to his hand and then activated it. He activated the effect of Dragon Ravine by sending Dark Ruler No More to the Graveyard and sent Absorouter Dragon from his Deck to his Graveyard. He added Rokket Tracer to his hand with Absorouter’s effect and then activated Boot Sector Launch. He used its effect to Special Summon Rokket Tracer from his hand and then Li activated the effect of Nibiru, the Primal Being! He Tributed all monsters on the field to Special Summon it and give Candia a Primal Being Token with 5300 ATK and 3000 DEF in Defense Position. Candia used his Druiswurm’s effect to send Nibiru from Li’s field to his Graveyard and then Normal Summoned Starliege Seyfert. He activated its effect by sending Lubellion from his hand to his Graveyard and added Chaos Dragon Levianeer to his hand. He banished 3 DARK monsters from his Graveyard to Special Summon it and used it is effect to try to shuffle the last card in Li’s hand back into his Deck; but it was Bystial Saronir, and Li Chained its effect to Special Summon it to the field instead! Candia used his Primal Being Token and Levianeer as Link Materials to Summon Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy, and used Dharc’s effect to Special Summon Magnamhut to his field. He Link Summoned Guardragon Pisty next and then sent Magnamhut and Dharc to the Graveyard to Link Summon Triple Burst Dragon. He used Pisty’s effect to Special Summon Magnamhut and then banished Seyfert from his Graveyard to return Levianeer from his Graveyard to his hand. He Special Summoned it again by banishing 3 more monsters from his Graveyard and then Link Summoned Borrelend Dragon. He used its effect to Special Summon Rokket Tracer from his Graveyard and then used Tracer’s effect to destroy his Boot Sector Launch and Special Summon Rokket Recharger from his Deck. He sent Tracer and Magnamhut to the Graveyard to Synchro Summon Bystial Dis Pater. He used its effect to Special Summon Magnamhut and then used Magnamhut and Rokket Recharger to Synchro Summon Chaos Angel. With only a Saronir and Dragon Ravine on his field, and no cards remaining in his hand, Li conceded.

Duel Two

Li started off Duel 2 by Normal Summoning Black Metal Dragon and sending it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Striker Dragon. He used Striker Dragon’s effect to add Boot Sector Launch to his hand and then banished Striker Dragon to Special Summon the Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon he had drawn in his opening hand. He then used its effect to Special Summon Black Metal Dragon back from his Graveyard and activated Boot Sector Launch. He used the effect of Boot Sector Launch to Special Summon Rokket Recharger from his hand and then sent Recharger and Black Metal Dragon to his Graveyard to Link Summon Romulus. He used Romulus’s effect to add Dragon Ravine to his hand and then activated it, replacing his Boot Sector Launch. He activated its effect by discarding Black Dragon Collapserpent from his hand next, and sent The Bystial Lubellion from his Deck to his Graveyard with its effect. He Tributed Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to Special Summon Lubellion from his Graveyard and used its effect to place Branded Regained face-up in his Spell & Trap Card Zone. He sent his monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Hieratic Seal next, and then banished 3 DARK monsters from his Graveyard to Special Summon Chaos Dragon Levianeer from his hand. He used the effects of Levianeer and Branded Regained. He returned a banished Collapserpent to his Deck to draw a card and shuffled a random card from Candia’s hand back into Candia’s Deck.

Candia activated Chaos Space by sending Absorouter Dragon from his hand to his Graveyard and added The Bystial Lubellion to his hand. He used Absorouter Dragon’s effect to add Rokket Tracer to his hand and then discarded The Bystial Lubellion to add Bystial Magnamhut to his hand. He Normal Summoned Rokket Tracer and then sent it to the Graveyard to Link Summon Striker Dragon. He used the effect of Striker Dragon to add Boot Sector Launch to his hand and then activated it. He used its effect to Special Summon Rokket Tracer from his Graveyard and then entered his Battle Phase. He attacked Hieratic Seal with his Striker Dragon. Li Tributed Hieratic Seal, and Candia Chained the effect of Magnamhut in his hand to banish the Hieratic Seal. Hieratic Seal’s effect resolved to return Magnamhut to Candia’s hand, and when Li tried to use the effect of Branded Regained, Candia activated Cosmic Cyclone to banish it. Next, Candia used the effect of his Rokket Tracer to destroy his Boot Sector Launch and Special Summon Rokket Recharger from his Deck. He Link Summoned Dharc next, and used its effect to try to Special Summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from Li’s Graveyard; but Li Chained the effect of the last card in his hand – Effect Veiler! Next, Candia Special Summoned Chaos Emperor, the Dragon of Armageddon from his hand by banishing a LIGHT and DARK monster from his Graveyard. He banished Chaos Space from his Graveyard to return Striker Dragon to his Extra Deck and draw a card. He sent Rokket Tracer to the Graveyard to Link Summon Striker Dragon next, and then used Dharc and Chaos Emperor to Link Summon Knightmare Unicorn co-linked with Striker Dragon. He used Unicorn’s effect to return Dragon’s Ravine to Li’s Deck and draw a card. Candia sent his 2 monsters to the Graveyard to Link Summon Accesscode Talker next, and used its effect to increase its ATK by 3000 by targeting the Knightmare Unicorn in his Graveyard. He then used Accesscode Talker’s effect to destroy Chaos Dragon Levianeer.

Li drew a card and conceded, completely outmatched by Candia’s field.
